if you are flying through a sector with a black hole and you are using overdrive, you are dead before you even see it on your screen :P

vortex bombs and black holes are VERY different, vortex bombs are MUCH smaller, are launched from a ship, last like 15 seconds, and dont damage nearly as fast as black holes do (they kill u in about half a second if u overdrive into one with 400 shield)

sorry my bad, the holes stay, but watch out for vortex bombs. I always confuse em with black holes...mainly cause theyre almost the same...

OK there's 3 holes:
Black: Suck you up. Kills you if you get sucked to the center.
White: pushes you away, although if you have a very fast ship, and engine override, and somehow get to the center, it kills you.
Blue(wormhole): teleports you to a random sector.
