If you start typing in another window the keys still work for the game. As I am typing this comment I can hear my ship firing lasers :O

the sprinter and pegasus are fast just need a bit more shields then they would be awsome but until they get at least 75-100 shield points they are just to easy to die with and to easy to kill will like a laser or plasma cannon

This game is one of the best free to play games there is. Unfortunately hackers and cost of money forced the creator to take multiplayer down. I look forward to Starfighter infinity but i still love playing this.
Its auto pilot is great and so is the hyperspace, I also like that the ships engines can be bought. Its not like the ship has to remain at one speed.
The weapon systems are great, even though each side has weapons which see mto be the same thing named differently each sides weapons actually have quite a few differences, from range, damage, and even missile flight pattern can differ. The ships are the same in some ways but occasionally have differences in their top speed, locking angle ect. They also have different shapes which make them more or less vulnerable to enemy fire. The friendly fire does add realism as well.
Things are well set up in this game and I have played it for years.
Here you have a game worth playing.

2007-10-02, It's been a long whie... and still one of the best games on Kongregate. DJ, you're awesome! I just bet that Infinity will be many times better! Thank you!

I just checked his website, he is working on starfighter:disputed galaxy 2. So keep your eyes open that sounds like fun :D

@assayltmech Announce that they are hacking on the admins screen?.... if the game knew they were hacking it could just autoban them, why announce it on the screen lol? It isn't that they are unable to ban the players, it is that they are unable to catch them. So he just had to end the multiplayer. I do miss the multiplayer on this game a lot... However it is still a lot of fun.

Try to add admins that are usually on and when someone hacks announce it on the admin's screen!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would stop hackers (maybe) and bring the fun back to multiplayer!!! + so the dev can see it!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of curiosity, are you able to paint your ship? All the cyan highlights on mine have turned bright yellow for some reason. =/

Super Shocker, I suggest using the hunter, or whatever the human version of it is, because it has 6 slots for weapons, and its a great sniper ship, just hyperspace to a threat 1 area and farm kills till you only have one life left, then hyper/overdrive back to the nearest base.
