Re chat not working: This seems to be simply that my chat server code cant handle so many people, I might put in a few backup chat ports, for it to try when it fails, other than that dont know what to do. Multiplayer does still work though
Re browser crashing: This is because the new flash player is not particularly stable. It is not my code, as it crashes randomly and doesnt on a standalone version. If my code was doing it then you would get a message about it running slowly asking you if you wanted to abort the script. I may put a standalone version available for download soon

If you think that this game is boring, you're doing something wrong. There are missions that only take a few minutes, and while flying from sector to sector (If you have a really slow ship) you can kill and mine.
Money is easy to come by and upgrade your ship. Honestly, I don't understand you people. You complain your ship is too slow - WELL NO ****, it's the starter ship, that's why there's heaps of options to make it faster!!!

Can't figure out the high rating ... this is the most boring game I've ever seen! I could have taken a nap during the one mission I played! And what action there was wasn't very interesting either. As confusing as the interface was, it would have made sense if I'd lost a life ... but I didn't.

Oh and as far as a beginner guide, just do missions. They don't give you missions you can't do. Use some money on some weapons. When you get enough, upgrade to a type of ship that fits your play style - light and fast, heavy and slow, etc.
And for in game chat is "broken", the server might be flooded or full. You can still play multiplayer, and just make use of the kongregate chat if you're desperate.

If the game crashes, it's because of your comp, not the game. It has never frozen, crashed, locked up, or broken in any way for me.

And screaming "I can't connect to the server" well, god, thanks for the information. Is your firewall blocking it? The server might be down, nothing you can do about that. Maybe you were banned. Maybe you are hacking and auto defense kicked in. Maybe your internet is too slow. There are huge amounts of possibilities, and none of which deserve ranking the game 1/5 for.

Game crashing/freezing - FOLLOW the instructions that are there for a reason. I have had the browser up with the game running for about 5-6 hours straight with absolutely no problems, no memory leak, nothing, NOTHING. It works PERFECTLY. And I use firefox. So, whatever the problem is, it is NOT the game. If it was, the problem would be consistent. Perhaps you have the wrong version of flash player installed, maybe you have multiple windows up or are doing something that causes it to lock up. Try to troubleshoot on your own instead of rating an excellent game 1/5 and cussing out the owner.

Now I know why the rating is so low, it's because of idiotic people blaming their problems on the game.
For instance, "Travel takes too long" - so buy a hyperspace, or a faster engine, or use "auto pilot", and make sure to press "X" before flying a long distance (Increases max speed at an energy cost).

This game would be awesome but for a few buggy issues... For instance, assassinate quests break like the dickens, you should get cash back for your engines, etc etc.
3/5, but 4.5/5 if these are fixed. Big fun!

It froze/crashed during a small battle. Also, while the autopilot is nice, it doesn't use max speed. Also, 2000 credits for a single-use Hyperdrive?

It kept locking up Firefox. In addition to not being able to log into the server for some of the time.
The complete reset to nothing when you ran out of lives is annoying. I wish it had a better description of weapons when you buy them. Why do you lose all of the weapons if you switch chassis?
This shows good promise but still not well balanced.
