My armor and weapon upgraded demon spearmen with their innate bonus died in 2 hits, the 130 armor uber-spearmen could maybe take out one unit after the patch. Whereas their human swordsmen wouldn't die if I threw 7 units at it.
I went through all the races and I have to wonder why the mountain trolls have a 500 dmg unit and none of the other races have a comparable unit? I guess I will have to play as mountain trolls again.

The easiest way to beat it is just to avoid the enemy, I chose night elves and I rushed with scouts. It worked like a charm, send scouts on the lines without men, scouts take the 2nd fastest to build but they have the fastest movement speed

Forget the people who are whining about how hard/easy it is -- there are some basic flaws: There is nothing lost by losing a battle. It just gives free points. So you cannot lose. You always win if you play long enough, no matter how you play. And then you open a race that makes it even easier? And the high scores basically show who played the worst - the real high score would be who won with the LEAST points scored.

I've found that trolls are unstopable if you charge with them. No matter how many the get across, sending in the trolls and then spaming spears behind them will give you 1/4th of the bar per charge. Youll get about 15 kills during the charge and so you need only kill about 5 more units before you launch the trolls again. Even against the demons I only had to do this three times to win.

Basically just upgrade your armor and spear, and build only spear men.
Playing the night elves and using the whirlers worked pretty well for me too. A whirler can take down just about anything. And if you send a few upgraded spear men behind them you'll plow right through the enemy.

Seriously though people, for those of you with archer-heavy builds that don't work so well anymore, just switch to mages. They still get benefits from the Marksman upgrade.

After years of fighting, the night elves conquered the land, bringing with them an endless night which lasted for many years.
Only use Whirlers upgraded with armor and halberd.

well, the javelin thrower is more expensive, and is a special unit... but if it did, id be soooo mad
cause i had a night elve campaign going when the archer nerf came, and the archer cluster tactic evaporated, now im using men of the west...

ya, if u need money, just play a level until u almost beat it and then surrender. you get more cash if you do that a few times.

Wow archers suck now. I think if your trying to balance them give them shorter range or longer time between shoots. but don't take away there smarts at stopping. they are next to pointless now.

i was going to up the rating to a 5 be/c i keep playing it nonstop, but now that i cant pwn rock trolls with 40+ archers its now a 2. reducing their stats make sense - but not making them retarted. remeber that part from LOTR where that fat blond elf was shooting dudes point blank? Thats where these retarded arches got their inspiration from. And then they get pwnd. 2.
P.S. Online Multiplayer would be kickass

haha, i think the complete opposite, this game was hard my first time, but once u beat the game and it uses the percents to show the difficulties then its easy, i only lost against one map, and it was the night elves when they were 97% difficulty, just be the Demon race and use nothing but spear man, i had 4-5 spear upgrade and 3 defense, just beat the whole game in less then a 100th of the time it took for my first time.

Nerfing the archers is hopelessly insane and an unwelcome move, I am NOT looking forward to playing v 1.1
