The game play requires almost no skill and the winning strategy is simply hire mages and you will defeat any board easily.
The only factor in the game is the randomness of when the encounters occur in survivor mode. If you face 1-2 at a time, you can make it, if 6 come at once, you can die after 5 kills. It's basically like watching a slow coin toss.

i find it hard to believe anyone cant beat the missions. i took on 4 horsemen once and killed the all. its not hard you just need startegy.

umm.. wtf why is my data only saving the first episode, and not the rest? 0/5 this game isnt complete without a proper save

gay as hell, 5 mounted halberdiers and 3 flailers. that and they can hit you when ur right next to em but u cant hit them

Very good game. The bugs of Achilles are nearly all gone, as far as I experienced. Sometimes archers shoot one last arrow after they had lost their head. But actually that is more amusing than annoying.

1/5
the ai have no skill at all...they just take the hits and horsemen dont do anything but move and attack. have them defend a little...only way you can really die is by being overpowered by like 5 guys at once.

This is more like Dragon Fist (the sounds and the gameplay and the health bar) Thats a Ben Olding game to so I guess that he could use it

Easy way to finish any level - max out lives, and just keep moving to the right end of screen. Only 6 can follow, take them out at the end. You may lose a life or two, but you'll make it up in gold each turn.

ok here is my comment i didnt really enjoy this.
I think the problem for me is it wouldnt save so i had to do it all over again. that and how do you expect us to defeat 3 longswordmen and horsemen at once

Didn't like achilles and didn't really enjoy this. Your henchmen die in the first half of the match and there is no way of bringing them back. No pickup of spears which gave achilles some depth but the upgrades here help... i guess.

I had fun with this. A light game without much depth, but good for a few days of workbreaks. I wish I could have seen which attacks I had purchased, and had more control over when they were used. I think a "healing potion" rather than an extra life would have seemed more realistic, as well as a chance to heal your hirelings.

i hate it when 6-7 enemies show up! give me some time to defeat them. if there were 2 of them they weren't a problem for me, but when they are 6-7 at once, i have not a chance. this means: you are dead.

Any game where a life is the least expensive item available for purchase... balance issues abound crush any possible light or goodness this game may offer. This might be a gem if they could wipe the surrounding 6 foot thick ball of feces from its surfaces, take said gem and re-forge it completely

I'm ok with you taking out the kicking damage in gladiator mode, but I think you should take out the enemy's kicking damage too.

I have the same problem as EnyOne. If you keep updating the game, it's a definite sign that it's unrefined and wasn't tested properly.

O.o How is fighting three javelin-throwers and two mounted halberdiers even supposed to be possible in the second battle? There's a difference between "Hard" and "impossible" that may not have been grasped here...
Getting swamped with 4 or 5 enemies at once, especially a mix of mounted and ranged, is a death sentence. You can't jump because of the impact stun from ranged attacks, and your attacks let the enemies hit you several time in return. Add to that enemies taking 5-10 hits to kill and your slow attack rate? Ugh.

I'm sorry but this becomes old very fast. Random describes it quite well, plus, the controls just don't work for fast combat, and fighting more than one enemy is aggravatingly tedious...
