Scratch that about the ghost lamps, I get my confusion now as it seems this quest is a bit buggy and doesn't count correctly... so currently of the eight I've obtained the quest has only counted the last two

How do you get enough salt for the Halloween quest? The workshop states you can get salt crystals as a gift from friends, but there is no salt crystal option when I look in Give Gift. I guess I just have to buy them all in the shop

Great analysis, ATB; really breaks it down well. I might also suggest hourglasses for the same cost as owls, except with the advantage of being able to walk through them.

@cresswga Plank pools are 4x4, that makes 16 tiles and give 70 rep, that's 4.375 rep per tile. Wise owls and steering wheels cost less, need only 1 tile and give 10 rep each. And they don't need building, while pool needs 35 energy + 35 planks.

@archerbob: Watermelons is just about the only crop I can think of that CANNOT be turned into food. Just grow anything else (and no biter melons).

Part 2:
If you have a lot of in-game friends then put your clay pit near the island entrance and your friends should harvest enough for you to keep up with construction.
You'll also need a lot of money but if you check your collections you should have completed the rock collection a few times. Collect that and sell the gems for more shells than you should ever need.
Planks are harder to come by than bricks. You can make bricks in the background but planks require 5 energy each and you need hundreds of them. Ask your friends for planks.
Lastly, bricks, paint and cloth all take time to create. Make sure your timed workshop is always making
something.

I know a lot of people are focused on the Halloween event at the moment but I just completed my Clay Colossus and I wanted to share some tips for people
who are still working on it.
If you are struggling to hit the reputation needed for the clay pit then the Plank Pool is a good way to get a lot.
Once you have the clay pit I recommend looking at the wiki to see what items are needed for each step. You can then work on making those items in advance when you have spare energy.
You are going to need a lot of straw (which means a lot of rope which means a lot of liana) so buy some
ducks and start harvesting them. You'll also need a lot of corn so start growing it now.
You also need wool & cloth from sheep and it is a rarer harvest so have some sheep too.
You need eggs too but I found chickens to be a pain to buy every day so I just spent my rubies whenever I needed them.

I got pigs, Yiu (for now), so come on over. But generally speaking, pigs are a complete pain, and there's no reward from them.

@archerbob the haunted house is the second pavilion, click it, then right click and "use". That should work unless there is a bug

Also to the dev, I seem to be getting a bug in Firefox where I get a looping walking sound intermittently that eventually crashes the browser

@bakkart, after you repair the bridge you can buy a pack of 10 machetes for 85 food, which is fairly cheap. So indeed you will regret having them instead of more expensive gifts such as clay bricks or planks. Before you repair the bridge, you can only use machetes on the treasure island to cut your way towards banana palm, but it's not worth it if you are getting machete gifts instead if planks or clay bricks.

There are 8 parts to the halloween event, and you dont need koalas on your own island, as they are within the house. You need some wood, able to make planks, and some basic crops like radishes, and some wool, and lots of energy. but you have 12 days. many parts of the event are interconnected, and the order of the quests in your book is not the order in which you will likely do them.

@KeeperBvK, @xAllegrax, the Basement entrance is the 2nd pavilion, you need to decorate it like with the other two, then click on it and select 'Use'.

you can access the ghost house by going to festival island and clicking pavillon III, pavillon I and pavillon II in that order. Be aware that the event requires HUGE amounts of energy and lots of ressources with minor rewards. Events in this game are designed for bored high end players.

We should not be required to figure out that the goblin spaces can be walked over, ergo we should not click on them. Also, if the koalas are mandatory to finish the event, you basically locked out everyone who hasn't finished that quest line yet. You should probably change the title of the event to "Premium Members Only Halloween".

The Halloween event is broken. When you sweep away a crazy bush, it becomes a goblin. When you sweep away a goblin, it becomes a crazy bush. This occurs in an endless loop. And since the crazy bushes obstruct the path, this makes the rest of the event 100% impossible.

Just to clarify when ever I complete the 3/3 event on the crazy bush it goes to a 1/1 Goblin and then loops back to the bush. It never goes away
