As far as I am concerned, I didn't attempt to run for the event, but simply considered the event main island and bronze island, as places from which to harvest resources (wood, coconuts, stones, ...). Much less stress this way :-)

completely bailed on this event. I had zero motivation at even trying to do it. It just seem so tedious and the amount of resources needed seem so high. the devs comment sort of took away my enthusiasm too.

I am going to choose to assume that this most recent update only sounds so hostile and dismissive because the developers are writing in a language that isn't their native language and that caused some issues with the tone, because I really don't want to have to hate the people who made such an enjoyable game for how they appear to be referring to my fellow players.

@dragon91, lock your character in a small area with empty space, and wait for 10 minutes on your island, they should spawn there. If they don't spawn, it means they have already spawned and are behind/being hidden by something on you island. Also, I think mushrooms from adult hedgehogs count so that's another way to finish the quest.

Any tips on mushroom farming/spawning? I'm on the plane missions(prop 2 of 3) and need to pick 20 and they aren't respawning. I have/had most of my island covered if that effects it at all.

@lollolilol Could be an in game person - I did wonder about that too - but if someone is cheating in game then they need to fix their game and ban the player(s) (and not call everyone a cheater). I think they're getting frustrated because they aren't making any money here - that's why they changed the gingerbread recipe to try to force people to spend money and then they had an event that required 300 gems to try to force people to spend money and then they had a massive sale on gems to try to entice people to spend money etc etc and none of it is working so now they're lashing out.

@w4m4w Thx for the hint. There is indeed one cheater in Kong's high score. Nevertheless it's weird to call all players cheaters when one does and as part of the game news it implies they cheated in-game but those ones work around Kong's API without touching the game...

Here's an idea for an update feature -- what about something like a "Shepherd" that allows you to feed four animals at the same time, maybe spending a couple of hay for doing so?

If you look under the Achievements tab and click View High Scores and then All-Time on both metrics you can see someone hacked the score list, which is normal behaviour for Kong's special brand of cheaters. They must just ban them, which Kong has already done. Anyway, if they never run a "special sport competition" again I don't think anyone will care. It's not worth the effort, as they even admit.

I think I am going to leave this event to people that care. I don't see a reason to waste thousands of energy, hundreds of resources and hours of time on the off chance I can beat 49 other people.
Instead of all of these events, couldn't we get the next island unlocked instead please?

Help for people who aren't on discord: new event starting on the 19th, should end around July 3rd. Some rumours have it that you need to have access to fire-oil for the silver path, and snakes for the gold path. Requirement is Having Upgraded Workshop II.
Roughly need 5000 energy just for the tasks (and involved resources).
You will need need hundreds of 5 clay bricks, 7 planks, 4 straw/hay bundles, 5 limestone, 3 volcanic rocks, 2 snake food for this.

@brobers3, thumbs up means no one has used a help action yet, while down means they have. Only applies to animals, crops, rocks and trees. You can ignore thumbs down on trees as they can stack multiple help actions without issues, and mining friends' rocks is pointless.

In case you've become accustomed to my helping out your windmill, I realized today that doing 10-12 windmills a day means running out of oil. Smart, huh? Anyway, I'm out of the windmill business for now. Sorry for any incovenience.

Yes, but I would say use at least 1 cake on your own island then store it, just so if you change your mind in the future, you still have at least one.

bakkart, the cakes are a 1x1 item that gives 48 reputation and 1 cup of cocoa, and can be stored. The cocoa is only given when a cake is placed the 1st time, so no store and replace exploits for infinite cocoa.

Finished two events in one day. Interesting experience, busy May. I was wondering if there was any sort of advantage to putting the rhubarb cakes on the main island -- they don't do anything once placed, right? Might as well just place them on the pirate island?

The Shinning Stone map is currently a work in progress that is being updated as people use more pathfinders. I think a rough guess of 3-5 weeks for completion depending on luck.

@Bakkart, you grow 20 onions for that quest, if the shop icon appears on a quest description, clicking it will show you what you need to buy/grow.

Along the way you'll encounter several ways to increase max energy, like the superstrength potion in the shop or the competition island.
