I hate that you can click to move, i wanted to see the large spider at level 25s health so i clicked and it automatically moved me there and i died, would have winged it out of there if i had known. Other than that great game.

The 'impenetrable defense' strategies listed below in other comments are counterintuitive but correct. You can dive to the bottom in 1 run if you make def and resistances high enough. Get a little mana and hp regen. Ignore crit, dodge, and instakill. You may need to swap gear for some opponents for specific resistances. Kill everything, and always choose defense boosts when given an option. Complete the 'defense/attack' skills section first. Why worry about transmute when you only come up after you win? I like the extra turns of potion effectiveness, but that definitely is secondary to filling the defence/attack/crit tree

@SonicJumper I actually found out that you can improve your enchants increasing your potion efficiency (you can do that by taking potion efficiency skills). They do not improve a lot but I nearly doubled their power fulling my potion efficiency.
Anyways, where are kong achievments? I'm waiting for them!

I liked the original, this game has a lot of improvements, allthough I miss hte fact that the first game was extremely hard. This just feels kind of mellow and turns into a kill stair-hunter in the process, but still a great game. 4 stars!

Does anyone else have issues loading this game? I get to a 3 panel oriental room divider and it never goes past that. The original was one of my favorites. I downloaded a new flash and no luck.

The Enchanted Cave is probably one of my favorite games of all time, and now it's sequel, TEC2, renews those exciting feelings of treasure hunting. I love the randomized level layout, hidden passages, level system, and alchemy. My only complaint is that enchanting a weapon or armor is almost never as good as getting the "next tier" of that type. Enchanting is cool and all, but in my opinion it's not as powerful as it should be, and I was a little disappointed that the strength of the enchantment depended only on the reagents used to make it, not the skill of the smith. Even with the little things I don't like, TEC2 is still another of my favorites and I can't wait for the premium version on Steam!

map seriously needs more colours. using reveal to find missing artifacts, only to be going after chests with useless crafting materials..

can't find the last pair of leggings and the last sword (artifacts). can anyone help? im betting there's some sort of secret thing involved for getting the last sword. i assume you either have to collect every artifact, or you have to use a magical pick axe in juuust the right place.

help please i started playing yesterday and im down to level 13. my problem is that i can not get or figure out how to use or open the magic spells. i have earned or opened both the heal and flamestrike in the skill tree they are lit up and i think i have them however nothing shows in my item screen and if i click on the migic botten it says that nothing is here. what am i doing wrong. help please

Always transmute your best regents and items so you can quietly enchant before next run..

3. Enemy attack - your defense = max damage taken - elements are calculated independently. (You can be immune to an enemy's attacks.) With optimal defense gear, escape from battle leaving one attack's worth of enemy HP, and switching to an attack based load-out with max *MP regen/item drop chance/exp bonus/HP regen/gold bonus gear and make the one final hit on the enemy. (Starting attacks land first, so your low defense stats can be ignored, esp. with your higher attack.) Transmute/forge items to avoid MP bar reaching capacity. Admittedly, employing this strategy will slow your floor progress down considerably (when fine tuning enemy attack vs your def stats), but it can reduce your 'Runs to beat the game' Kongregate statistic.
4. **Be aware that it is possible that too many transmuted items can glitch the screen if you click the 'loot' button (blank, black loot screen persists in covering map), but the game can be saved (escape for menu) and page refreshed to restore playability.

Some tips: 1. Regarding some other comments about the forge: you can craft an equipment item with only one of two slots filled for half the cost. Repeat to use two of the same ingredient on an item. (Does not apply to crafting potions) Note: you can only select a single stat option per crafting ingredient used. Remember to select/confirm both crafting properties.
2. If you switch equipment regularly, you can save a bit of time having one set of your equipment (less rings - they usually replace the wrong ring slot) on your action bar to speed up your load-out changes, and you can alternate between two sets back and forth. (changing rings manually)

Flash Tips :
- Dont Die. or you lost everything you got.
- Teleport outside if you find shop.
- use regen in enchant weapon
- talk with guy in the side of the bar, he will sell good stuff
- Aim the transmute spell early
- craft potion often
- insta kill cannot kill final boss

I somehow wound up in enchanted cave purgatory... Went from floor 79, to floor 101 where there were question mark enemies that gave no xp. Then I jumped to like floor 200, then 210, 230, 300 etc. just shop floors with random npc's from the game, not even actual shops...

Really cool game..... was doing well had just done lvlz 1-40 had gained 20k xp on the run and all kinds of stats/gems/gold/items. Had like 20+ potions left.. accidentally clicked what was a new monster ... lost it all. GG
