I've hunted down as many items as I can in search of "optimal builds" and I think I've encountered them all. Therefore:
For the curious, the max dodge build is 61% dodge (5% innate, 32% items, 24% enchantments).
Max insta-kill build is 21% from Ninja Gear, Assassins Gloves, and 3 Shadow Rings.
No monster in the game drops any noteworthy items (however, if you want crafting materials, the red spiders give voidweed and turtles give turtle shells) so while you can easily get loot chance over 100%, you don't need to bother with it.
Max MP regen build is 70 per battle. (25 item bases, 45 from enchantments)

Two ways to win. One, enchant for elemental defenses and choose the proper gear, becoming immune to attacks. OR Two, enchant with all attack (cyclops tears) and get one-hit kills, granting its own type of immunity.
MP regen is nice midgame, but it won't make you immune. You'll ditch it when you get better gear/better enchanting materials.

wonderful game and so fun... better than the first in most regards *flashback* MONEY SACK WHY DO YOU DENY ME PASSGE *end flashback* However a suggestion for TEC3: casual/hardcore setting as well as new game+ mode where items transfer over but shit gets real. I'm gonna be up front with you. aside from choosing which enemies to fight, there was no strategy. Honestly all I did whenever I leveled up was put the point into attack, focused on crit chance and dodge (and later insta-kill) which allowed me to win the game within a day. If you make a game with all these features make sure they matter! elemental resistance and weakness is a joke I didn't pay attention to it at all.

It could be tuned up. It is entirely possible to complete the game in a single run, rendering the transmute spell moot. The combat stats skill tree dominates the other skill trees too much. Attack damage as a level bonus is too good compared with other bonuses. I like the game but it could be balanced to where starting the non combat tree doesn't gimp you completely.

Strolling through the Ice Caves, full clearing everything with my ice/dark/wind defense combo and then I hit level 59..... Plasma Wizards. WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?

The game pretty much promises the player a battle with a gigantic demon but fails to deliver. Despite that, the game still deserves a 5/5, it's just that good.

At level 80, apply some outside-the-box thinking before you beat the first monster and you will get an easter egg. I loved it ;)

For anyone wondering "does potion efficiency points in skill tree affect efficiency of items altered in a forge?"
Yes it does, but it is hit or miss which enchants it helps and by how much. I have 132% but have not seen any boost to the bleed from the spines, it is still 4. At 116% the ice defense did improve +1 for ice pops and penguin feet but has not improved since. HP regen from troll poop and berries did not improve until 130% and both gained +1. So it is hard to figure out how it really works.

small glitch that really annoyed me - if u walk down stairs while you have a message (in my example your hp is low tutorial message) you can't remove the message unless you refresh the game.

i went to floor 68, then when i went to skills the back button didn't work anymore, i got stuck on the skill points screen. i could still scroll around and click skills. strange bug. now i have to start all over
