Tried and failed my iron man run, but came close. Just didn't have much luck on defensive boost drops. If you're planning to do it in two, however, transmute shiny moss for light defense, angry teacup for light attack, and malachite for wind attack. You should get more than enough dark attack/defense off blood spiders. Just as you have a hard time dealing with wind, there's only one enemy at the end strong vs wind (the wisp). Getting an unholy dao or wind blade makes the final stretch so easy. I just simplycouldn't get enough shiny moss or emerald rings to deal with wisps and gnomes. Also, keep two rechargers MP regen items per slot if you get the chance, one with your preferred additional ability, one with+2 mana (fractal cactus)

The final sword is unlocked when you beat the wizard.
One tip: one way to beat the wizard is to transmute enough health potions. I had about 15 large health potions in my transmuted stash (and I didn't need them all). I had my defense over 300, my attack around 220 and my magic at 100 -- I didn't pay much attention to the details with the earth, wind, fire, etc....didn't matter in the end in my experience.
Great game.

So after browsing through the comments, it doesn't look like anyone's unlocked the final sword. I played through this about a month ago and filled my museum with every item except for a final slot beyond the Hero's Sword. Nothing special required to get the other artifacts, just grind in the appropriate levels until they drop from chests/monsters. I ground levels 70-80 many, many times without getting the final sword, so I assume it's either unimplemented or has some weird trick associated with it (like beating the game in a single run, perhaps?). However, the high scores have a number of people with this achievement, and still no mention of such a sword being gotten from this in the comments, so for the moment it's still a mystery to me.

excellent game, i love it, best than the first, for me, and i had give 5/5 to the first ;^)
Tips :
- def is your best friend when you lvl up
- boo is your ennemy best friend (can loot hp regen for your equipement)
- xp, transmute and heal are the best skills to improve yourself.

If you could make this into a Multiplayer where you can party up to 4, it would be nice, also a class system on that one. Would be nice to turn it into a MMORPG.

Great game, but too short and too easy. I completed it using only 3 escape wings on my first try. After 50 floors I could just walk into anything without thinking.

You can use forges to rewrite enchantments yous don't like with the right components. This game is awesome but I wouldn't mind a few more mission s though

The creator has made so many improvements from the first version! With the storyline, the forging system, new maps and monsters, the town with the new NPCs, and not to forget the new skill tree; this is an great game! I think I can speak for all of us here when I say that I hope to one day see an Enchanted Cave 3! Kong is lucky to have this game in its collection of games! 5/5

Hint: If you want to equip max HP/MP-Regen to an item you can use two of the same items. Take the Berries (+7HP on a weapon) and transmute one of them. Now you can equip both the normal and the transmuted version of the Berries and gain +14HP

This is an amazing game, it reminds me of the binding of Isaac in it's dungeon crawling gameplay and hidden story telling. This seems professionally made and I'm glad that's it's free and has a cinematic mode! Keep up the good work!

um... XD i have a bug. i kept all my items on returning to town somehow without using transmute (i used it on a potion only). i just gotten transmute for that quest, the dude asked for the potion made from berries, nope he wanted the berries themselves, which i had due to bug.

Ugh. The first game had such an intuitive interface for managing equipment. This game absolutely does not. Disappointing.

Some help for beating the game:
Mp Regen and Hp Regen will get your throught most floors
It actually is worth it to butcher entire floors. (Every floor in fact)
If you can't clear the whole floor it is probably time to retreat.
The only spells you usually need is revealer, heal, and transmute
There is no store on floor 50. (ever)
Wisps are possibly the deadliest enemy (other than the final boss)
If you can't make it to floor 80, go back to floor 1 and save up potions

Good game. As of right now, I see no reason to get the elemental damage spells. I can't seem to re-put them on my hotkeys after I leave the cave. Still a good game though.

This game has a couple flaws but none that would really reduce the amount of fun you are going to have playing. I would recommend it to anyone who has any fun playing RPG/Adventure games. Truly magnificent for a game that is free. I give the Developer a round of applause. Probably the best game I have played on Kongregate to this day.

Jumpingcow; you said there was a merchant next to the inn. How exactly can I buy items from him? Is there some requirement I need to fulfill? Also, is he the same guy in purple?
