a nicely done game for a first. I just thought it needed 3 more adjustments: 1 i think your guy should be able to lvl up, 2the chests and bags should disapear after you open them, and 3 i think it should keep your stats and armour on after using the escape wings. All of these adjustments would make the game easier and funner at the same time. Ty for reading.

This game can be easily replicated using pencil and paper, even then, more advanced techniques have been implemented in these pencil and paper games. Not an excellent game but a good game nonetheless.

An intriguing take on the Rogue-like genre. I have to admit, I generally don't like Rogue-likes all that much - the penalty for death is high, and there's usually no sense of improvement between attempts. I think The Enchanted Cave has done a remarkable job of conveying a real sense of risk (i.e. no saves to return to if you lose) with an actual sense of growth (since you keep your stat upgrades and artifacts each time you exit. It does have a few minor interface issues (inventory management gets a bit tedious, and the spells definitely need hotkeys), but not enough to drop the rating. I've really enjoyed this game, well done. 5/5

Really liked this game has that same feel as moria on the amiga, and i love that game even though the graphix were poo. graphix just right on this and the game play was good would have love a level up butmaybe next time eh... thanks for sharing your game. The Crow

If there arn't stairs up, how does he get down? It would be a trapped door. Or does in fall in? Or is it hidden? Or he just teleports. I'm going with teleporting.

for whoever made this. if a money sack is empty you should be able to move over it. it cant be THAT effing tall that you cant step over or onto it. and your "small health potion" is a fecking insult for that price.

@Zyfair: The whole point of the save file being deleted is that people won't be able to use trial and error. It was deliberatly put in.

3/5 for me, because, when you save it brings you out of the dungeon,please fix that. And when you load a save file, it deletes the save, it would be nice if you could have 3 or 4 save files. but apart from those, good game.

Ok people..... let me explain it to you about the save feature......When you press new quest, you start on your journey blah blah blah. WHen you use escape wings, everything but artifacts, money, spells, and gems get deleted. Then, you press enw quest again. Got it? Load quest is for if you have to quit in the middle of a quest and save. Stop rating the game low just because you gave up after not finding something.

why is it that i lose almost all of my items when i use wings and start a new quest? otherwise perfect 5/5 and learning to use wings/spells just takes a little common sense :)

So I get to level 20, figure I shoudl save my progress, so I activate the escape rings... then I come back, and suddenly I'm on lv 20 again with no items! HOW is this doable? I keep finding artifacts, then getting killed before I get an escape wing... :(

Excellent game 5/5. Loved the graphics and the simple gameplay. Heck after beating the game and getting the Blade of the Chosen I replayed all 100 levels just to one-hit everything ^^.

This is a fantastic game. However, there is a few things I've noticed that aren't really favorable, the first being what I notice many people asking, which is how to use Escape Wings, one of said people is a few comments below me, and I agree, the first 4 or 5 times I played, I got to floor 13 or whatever, had the Wings in my inventory, but no clue how to use them, so that might be something you want to explain to players a bit more, by maybe adding that to the description of the item. Another thing is the major lack of spells in chests. I didn't find my first spell until maybe floor 35 or 40, and I didn't find another for a few more escapes. Regardless, with just 2 downsides I've noticed, the amount of good features greatly outweigh the negative ones, so all in all, this is a fantastic - and might I say, pretty freaking addictive - game.

Idea on how to fix magic so it's usable: Maybe put like an attack cue on the bottom of the screen where you can drag attacks & abilities and then your char follows this cue when he attacks something. like new final fantasy. i'm not sure how hard that'd be to program though

Elemental defence/attack is worthless. All game I just maximized my attack damage and beat the game easily without dying.

Game would be better if you did not lose most of your things after exiting the cave. What? You, a seasoned warrior, getting your shit taken every time you go to sleep? You need some common sense. Other than that, I love this game!

AWESOME but addictive so i dont care, risky and treasures quite annoying getting the same items and magic ruins everything when its useless :( 4/5 needs more treasure types.

It's a great game, aside the negative comments, i think the way the game works is great, the way you lose all your items when you start over except the artifacts is great, so the game doesnt turn too easy. It's a great thing you get an "ultimate" artifact weapon from the boss in the end.
5/5 for this great and addicting game.
I have some problem with the badges, i've defeated the final boss and got 120 damage and 10 artifacts but I didnt get them. Anyone else has the same problem?
As about the way magic works, it really sucks, i dont even use magic, I only used it on the last boss. The only magic i was using before that was heal. You should pre-select a spell before you go on battle and it should auto-cast it when you enter battle

A superb game for a first attempt! 5/5. My only questions are...
How do you get health back? I haven't seen any potions or anything like that.
What magic where? I haven't seen any or get any or anything.
And I'm on floor 13 or 14, somewhere like that.
