umm... I used "Escape Wings" and my save got deleted. Got tossed out to the title menu, and unable to load. That was lame!

For all those saying there is no time for magic - drag the magic spell towards your character BEFORE the battle, letting the mouse button go as soon as the battle starts. Instant spell, once the charge time is complete. So far good for battles that last more than two rounds.

@ Spartaa: When ya ingame, press "Menu" in the upper left corner. There u can change the sound options ;)
An "Sell all non-Artifact-Stuff" would be really great. :)

Just thought I'd let people know that if you click on a treasure it tells you what type of item is in it. This is invaluable in later levels when the only thing you really need are just the consumables and escape wings. If this was common knowledge then oops! Sorry! Just didn't see this posted anywhere. :)

havent finished the game yet but its realy fun in some ways (creepy mages, elemental powers, spells) and sucky in others (no level ups, no upgrade system no regenerating health, etc)

That was actually a pretty awesome game. Simple yet very entertaining.
With a few tweaks on the interface and a new bigger dungeon to explore, a sequel would be even greater.

4/5...i think it would be better if you could find more consumable pots like small HP pots But other then that...GREAT GAME!! :D

beat the game now just playing to get artifacts played 3 times on 4rth time clearing lvl 14 i finaly got a new artifact

ya make a #2 carry over the super sword but make enemies have like 200 health on first 9 to make it not the best sword ever

u dont have to buy a weapon. i never did. 1st run i checked out, how the game works. at my 2nd run i killed the boss. :)

This is a good effort and is fun to play. The graphics are cute without being overly cartoony. My major complaint with gameplay is that magic is very hard to use and impossible to one-shot a monster with, since you can't utilize it until after you've initiated combat. I ended up ignoring anything but heals in favor of trying to maximize melee in order to avoid damage.

This game would be great if you could use the wings then come back with the same armor and the same floor without starting again :|

This is one of the greatest games I've played on Kongregate. A very interesting gameplay mechanic, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely rating this a 5/5. Even though I have all the achievements, I still want to continue to see what other types of awesome things I can find!

Dude it was hard in the upper levels. The final boss wasnt that hard at all. Getting to the end was the hard part. I didnt really know how to use my magic during battles until the end of it. You dont find these kind of games now. Awsome game!!

Also, what are the best weapons in the game? i got sword of the chosen, or blade or whatever, but are there any others?

@Odrinn, I know about Rogue-like games, I've played the original Rogue plus similar games like Hack/NetHack. Many of them have a feature called "rest on space" which lets your character "rest" and heal HP just by holding the spacebar (usually 1 hp per 4-5 seconds). Sometimes, just walking around the map without having battles would also allow HP to heal (1 hp per 7-8 seconds). And yes, the old Rogue and Hack/NetHack used experience points and levelling...

~Aidan~ if you find a gold treasure chest, it will have an item with a yellow backround, which is an artifact, kind of like the escape wings. you can only keep those (and the magic spells you find) when you use the wings

bull**** i got to floor 60 and found a cloth shirt this could use a little scaling so you only find good items later on not the crap you start with

lorust: if you reach floor 20 you start on floor 9, if you reach floor 30 you start on floor 19, and so on. if you reach a floor ending in 0 (20, 30, 40, etc.) you go to the next to last floor ending in 9 that you reached.
