Nice game.
I see a problem though. The description of the "Amulet of Wealth" reads :"Gold gained from monsters plus 10 percent." But when I use it, it is more like there are threee options: 1. I get less gold from the monster. 2. I get what it says for the monster. 3. I get more gold but not necessarily the stated 10 percent. And the "Amulet of Riches" which should give 25 percent more gold is just exactly the same as the "Amulet of Wealth". I hope that the same doesn't count for the "Amulet of Might".

i have a glitch were you have to buy all the weapon to get one or were it will get you a hat instead of a sword which was in the buying spot.

I dont know how to get spells. Can anyone help me? Other than that great game 5/5. If he makes another one and it had co-op that would be AWESOME

I beat the game without using the escape wings and the high scores chart says I used them once. Maybe it's because I was disconnected from the internet when I did it.

good game, kind of weird battle system, but meh, got all the badges within 3 days (an hour each day, more or less
could use a "real" battle system
4/5

This a great game! Nearly-flawless. One thing I can see that you should do that I think everybody would like is that when you put on an item your character changes so it looks like you're wearing that item. But it might take a while to do, I don't know. For your first flash game this is great! And I see great things in your future. There's only one thing I ask: What program should I use if I were to make a game? You see, I want to make a game my self, the only thing is that I don't want to use flash but I'm afraid I'm going to have to for a first game =/. Also, another thing. When you use escape wings you should be able to have all your items, but being challenge that you aim for, it makes sense (but it's still a ad annoying). Challange, imagination, some classic (you know, golems...), and of course, nostalgia. When I started the game it definetly reminded me of those Pokemon games on Gameboy Color. A unique game in a classical way. Definitely hard to do.

The game was very entertaining but, it was more of a challenge getting past floor 30 than fighting the boss on level 100.

And of course, I hadn't used escape wings at any times between level 19- and 90, so rather then have... EVERYTHING, I've got ... nothing.
I realize the point of the game is challenge, but there must be a ...middle ground. even if it's a single auto save that you can restore to ONCE on, say, 25/50/75... Given the nature of this being a browser game.... another website, a bad flash banner ad, anything can kill your game. :/ Other games have save points so that if this happens, you have a back up you can go to, but here, your save game is deleted the moment you load it--which is fitting with the whole rogue like idea, definetly--but that leaves players with the option of... 'you MUST save and quit if you're AFKing, just in case something bad happens.
Ultimatly I"m not sure what the solution is, but I think my idea above would be a good compromise between the unstable nature of flash, and the goals and difficulty of a roguelike....
also: love the game :D Sequel???

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF....
Ah, level 90. Hm, I'd better heal before I attack this--oh hello, kitty, how are--NO YOU STEPPED ON THE KEYBOARD! WHY DID YOU WALK INTO THE GOLEM? FFFFFFFFFF...

I enjoyed this game a great deal. So much so, that after defeating the Boss, I went back and played all the way through, becoming even more invincible! MUAHAHAHA! 5/5

I also enjoy Rogue-like games. Info on chests & monsters provides for strategic choices. (this is a good thing & uncommon in Flash games). Would prefer turn based combat though.
As others have noted there is not much chance or need to use magic.
Perhaps a retreat option? Hot keys for potions & spells.

all in all, the best game of its style i've ever played. but, like tritonlax_6, i forget to payattention to my health. perhaps some sort of alert when the HP metersdrops to 100.

save doesn´t work. When I open a new screen with the game I can´t click on the load button. I do save in the game ofcourse but it doesn´t load or save it ±S

Magic tree-
Tier 1- Increases mana regernation per battle by 1/2/3/4/5 points
Tier 2- Increases magic damage done by 8/17/25 percent
Tier 2- Increases casting speed by 8/17/25 percent
Tier 3- Adds elemental debuffs per spell, fire puts dot, lighning stuns, etc. etc.
Armor tree-
Tier 1- Reduces damage taken by 3/5/9/12/15 percent
Tier 2 - Increases health by 5/10/15 percent
tier 2 – Adds chance to block by 5/10/15%, requires shield
Tier 3 – Adds a counterattack when you block damage for 500% of damage that would have been taken
Those are just some ideas, obviously you should tweak them to your liking :)
5/5 great job

I really like this game. I would love to see an enchanted cave 2. Some new features I'd like to see-
-A leveling system
-Weapons and armor can be upgraded, either by socketing them with gems, or purchasing upgrades
-A hot key system for spells
Another idea I thought would be interesting is to add a few talent trees, some basic ideas:
Melee tree-
Tier 1- Increase Melee Damage by 5/10/15/20/25 percent
Tier 2- increases damage done for 10 seconds by 20%. Costs mana
Tier 2- Increases attack speed by 2/4/6/8/10 percent
Tier 3- A strong melee attack with both weapons, cooldown and costs mana, requires offhand
(to be continued)

Very fun game, great job. Got really annoyed because I played to level 97 and died because I wasn't paying attention to my life and had to restart at level 9 because I hadn't ever excaped :P I had an excellent time otherwise, and the only recommendation I would make is to create armor set bonuses. Armor like the golden armor is really cool but would be more useful if having all the parts was an advantage

This is truly a fantastic game! What would be great is a list of all the spells you can acquire, and possibly all the artifacts.

I liked this game a lot, as I love roguelikes. Varied backgrounds, enemies, and gear were excellent, music was good, and the graphics were about as complex as I'd like to see for a game like this. A few comments: Challenge - I didn't die once; only for the first 30 floors or so was it challenging to stay alive, and that was more hoping to find potions than the game being hard. I know luck is a huge aspect of roguelikes, but I think it could be improved. Magic - I didn't use a spell the entire game besides healing. There's no time to do so when I don't think a single battle lasted more than five rounds. Most were over in 3, Elemental defense - why give equipment elem. defense levels higher than 100 if they're just going to be capped? Inventory - selling things was tedious, instant selling via shift-clicking should be allowed. Another alternative would be assigning a junk category that auto-sells. Ending - boss was way too weak, and the game just hangs after killing him? Disappointing.

TIP: If you beat the game and it was just too easy, try doing it WITHOUT stepping on the same tile twice, or if you do it (except mispressed), try doing a PENALTY to self! (let the penalty be your own)

Great game, but it should warn you when you have low health- I had loads of potions but i died because I didn't notice and lost like 15 artifacts :(

Then i had to start from lvl20 with BAD gear and didnt make any real progres until i luckily fount minor heal which allowed me to gear up and eventually trhu to lvl100, you should considern this aspect. I liked the amount of equip, but you should considern making bunch of basic equipt and then make random generator for stats, like from dagger to "Shining Dagger of damned" which is considered Rare and has different color and better stats than Dagger.
And please, make another game where you climb up a tower with same gameplay, i would seriously consider buying that game if you make these improvements. THANK YOU for this game. Absolutely best game on Kongregate so far. Thumbs up 6/5, oh sorry cant, 5/5 it is.

at first i was wondering why this game was rated so high, but when i started my first battle, i was like wow ( not world of warcraft -_- ) becouse i didnt have to go into seperate battle screen for each battle, this was Huge plus since those ruin most of games. And what comes for Escape wings, its ok to lose your equip since you "trade" them for full health. But you should be able to choose which floor you want to start again from, this becouse i ventured with good gear upto lvl35, then had to use wings becouse low hp and no potions whatsoever.
