This game definitely was a few hours well spent. I enjoyed the fighting system and the random dungeon, it provided me with a good challenge. 5/5.

I don't know what it is about this game, but it is really fun. I note the very smooth fighting animation and retro adventure style! Very good work. :D

WOOO Beat floor 100!! What an amazing flash game; especially if it was your first time, a good 2-3 hours of hacking slashing and fun! love the holding on to the artifacts idea, gold was extremely scarce, on my last playthrough I didn't find a heal spell xD added quite the challenge. great job, 5/5 stars, keep up the great work!

Got to floor 100!! killed all the monsters but I ran away using wings, no way in hell I could take that boss, the lvl 99 shop had no potions -_-

It got me to play it for hours straight. It's very simple, yet it works very well. I'm not sure which games exactly were used as "inspiration" material to develop this one, but they were well chosen. I wished more games today were like this, simple, keep us entertained and having fun... not just show us pretty pictures and big flashes to keep us distracted of the realization we are supposed to be having fun (... or at least learning something... but I guess that's mostly a different audience XD). Not sure if the sequel will strike enough right points as this one (... not even sure it will ever get released), but for what it's worth, this game it's nonetheless an accomplished one.

Sir why do we leave chests for the hero to get?
to lure him into a false sense of security
but he would be dead by now...
oh...

Boredcom, I hope by "you have to support him" you don't mean "give him an extra star because it is one of his first games." That being said I can't give the game a higher rating because I have already rated it 5/5. This game kept me playing for a few hours straight. I think we could all agree that, if a game, regardless whether flash or otherwise, keeps you glued to the screen (in a good way) it's safe to say its 5 star worthy, especially for flash games.

Can't get anything to load on it. it loads the main screen and then when i click on anything it won't do anything... WHATS GOING ON???? this has happened to me every time i have loaded it over the last few weeks.

I was thinking to myself, "Man, this feels a lot like the cave in Lufia II." Then I read the description. The game is fantastic, but 5 stars for the dev's Lufia reference alone.

I just happen to die and not save when I have all the good artifacts, and fire strikes, and healing mechanisms. of course, I didn't save, so im without them.. then I get them again, then I die. its a vicious cycle.

I'd have bought this game if there was an endless feature, I've never said that about any other flash game ever, real good old fashioned RPG.

so... to add some element of replayability to this game i've started playing through without using any armor or gear. The little gems that you collect permanently boost your stats, and their effect lasts even if you use the escape wings, so it's something that kinda has a cumulative effect.
There are some problems though. If you don't use equipment, you're sorta obligated to use magic. the spell casting mechanic is a pain. if there was a way to simply 'turn on' the imbuing ability, or to cast the spell before entering combat so you're not racing to drag the little magic icon over your character, it'd be a huge improvement.

PROTIPS: Use the Wings. Always use the Wings. / Avoid anything you can't 2HKO until you can see its stats. / Don't touch the golems. / Sell duplicate Artifacts, you won't need them. Unless they're rings. / Amulet of Might beats Ninja Amulet late-game.

I really liked this game, but I think it really needed some more... exploration, and not just floor, like being able to go back up, or multiple rooms on the same levels, also, if they make another one, I want a more dynamic combat system

A fantastic game that I occasionally come back to replay. Despite an easy 5/5, there are a few things that should be tweaked. Heal is way too powerful (or other magic is way too weak). I usually dink around on level 1-28 endlessly until I get the heal spell, and then I'm able to finish the dungeon on the same run I get the heal spell. I would have also removed the shop to up the difficulty (roguelikes should be TOUGH) but allowed players to start at lower levels other than forcing them to start at their 2nd best shop.

My only complaint is that the game doesn't have a lot of replayability once you go all the way through two or three times.
it'd be nice if there was a dungeon timer or a something to do with gold pieces (other then just letting them accumulate forever).
Maybe if there was some sort of gear customization option that let you modify the look or even the stats of items for excess moneys after you beat the game, it'd add alot to it.
A dungeon timer would let people compete through speed runs. Whether it's an actual timer or a move counter, i think it'd get the same result.

As of the third floor, the only thing it needs is character levels. Some customization would be nice as well (Dual wielding swords, etc) but not needed. 5/5 even without.

People keep saying this game has flaws... I can't find any, just a few missed opportunities that may have actually taken away from other aspects of the game. This is easily the greatest game on Kongregate. No other game feels so rewarding. Open chest -artifact; titanium longsword!
