Didn't use the escape wings once but when I beat the game I was awarded the boss because beating him sends you to the surface the same as the wings.

I LOVE this game some things I would like to see improved are the spell system and possibly add other usable skills to the game. 100% completion every medal would be glad to see a sequel.

Ravor9: The eye of life works by clicking an enemy: You will see how much life they have (and other stats with the other eyes). Very useful for deciding whether or not to engage a hostile.

Easy and fun to play, but insanely easy. Should have a nightmare/hell difficulty after beating it once. Spells are completely useless.

Great game!!! But should have potions available at all times - I got to final level and have thousands of gold but only 1 healing potion was available. I died - now have to start from very beginning :(

Dammit, I hate having to replay the games to get achievements... this one is like a multi-hour little endeavor too... at least it is fun enough to replay... just by a little... maybe... maybe tomorrow...

Fantastic game, especially for a first time uploader.
The one thing I'd like to see, while it may be tough, is the armor portrayed on your actual avatar. That is one of the things I really enjoy in RPGs, making myself look kind of interesting via the different armor choices. Other than that, I don't really have any issues with the game, aside from the fact that most encounters only last 2 hits. 4/5

I can't believe how stupid some people are to complain about the game without even reading the instructions... This is a great game and now with badges it's even better.

Impossibly hard, relies alot on luck with chests to get a good weapon, potions are too expensive, most of the gear in the chests worthless. Inability to save progress makes it that much worse. Most monsters can just be avoided. Blizzard mages and dwarf cave men are way too strong for the floor you meet them on. "Monster's Den" on Hardcore mode but its about a million times harder. 1/5 rating. Would give 0/5 if i could. Retro graphics earn you a point. Enjoy.

My first run I had awful luck but the game itself is great. The HP management is different, but originality is good! Overall fun game, great concept, and I look forward to future projects.

This game made me think of the Ancient Cave from Lufia II. I enjoyed it a bit, althought it got repetitive and the difficulty varied too much with the items I was getting (a bit hard with an old weapon, suddenly gets easy once I get a better weapon). At about the 70th floor, I bought every potions from every shop and rushed through the rest of the cave, buying new weapons in shops and ignoring stat shards, and succeeded without too much trouble. Actually, the boss was disappointing, I felt that the golems were harder to kill.

beat it, its not that hard but its an entertaining dungeon crawler, i agree with butt though it stinks losing all the armor you buy but kind puts an intresting (though senseless) difficulty to the game. i have no major issues with it though i just played for 4 hours straight ^^ if yoru really a beginner programmer gj X.x.

Couldn't get past the treasure chests/money bags. You should fix that.
I liked the jewel leveling system, but it seemed too uneven. I know that speed is important and thus rare, but it would have been nice to spend some hard-earned cash on crystal upgrades at the merch booth.
Not to mention, I didn't like the final boss of the game; the theme's been done. It's the opposite of shooters; instead of a horde as a final boss, your character should be able to pit all that hard earned equipment to full-throttle use.
And, you forgot the whole "can you steal from the merchant or are you too chicken to fight a testosterone bureaucrat?" joke. I would have liked stealing the otherwise unreachable shop gallery items in the corners of the merch booth.
All this aside, I've been waiting for a game like this, and Dustin delivered. Five stars for rougelike tribute.

I gotta say, this has to be one of the best random dungeons I've seen in 32-bit. Or whatever bit. Fight a bunch of monsters, collect artifacts and stat jewels, run, rinse, and repeat. You get the escape wings a bit early, but if you use them before a merchant, you lose all your normal items. I really was pressed to choose between risk and reward in terms of my current equipment; awesome diamond swor-whoa, annihilator (that shook me up first time I saw it on collection screen). However, I have some concerns about the sequel:
Artifacts should be placed in a completely seperate folder than equipment, or there should be a SELL ALL NORMAL ITEMS IN BAG button. Seriously, it took too long to get all that equipment organized and sold.

right out of Lufia 2. Excellent idea to make it a flash game. gets easy once you get into the thirties. I coasted right to the end. Didn't even win a trophy for 200 levels explored. Needs a bigger variety of weapon/items a la Diablo (randomized stats). Hotkeys would make magic better. I eventually just powered through with brute force. Still one of the better flash games i've played in a while. 5/5

Really fun game. 5/5. First try got to floor 7 then I read the instructions and beat it in one go. Always keep a couple healing potions on you, hope for one of the healing spells, and just get as much attack as you can.

Some advice for picking items, defence is great, but if you are able to kill a monster in a single blow you save all your hitpoints anyway. That being said, the Amulet of Might is still a safer choice than the assassins amulets. During the final fight everything I had equipped was what I had found with the greatest normal attack strength.

Warning to new players: the *only* way to save is to use escape wings. If you ref.resh the page or navig.ate away from it, it's just like dying.

For those without a strategy, I just took it real slow in floors 1-28 building up money and stat gems, and even into floors 29-39 I would wing out before reaching the merchant just to repeat the easy floors. About into the 40's I used my money (15,000ish) to buy potions (both kinds) every time, and only fought necessary monsters or ones guarding chests. I did not wing out after floor forty, just building momentum with dozens of potions, using them when I needed. So long as you don't fight useless battles (don't go for the money bags!), You're good till the end.

for the people complaining about escape wings not working. They are but only yellow items/pot/stats/magic are saved. rest disappears. You also appear at the 2nd last shop not last. If you get to lev 19, you restart at lev 9 etc
