ok really helpful tip i just found: clicking on an enemy shows thier stats before you fight them, but clicking on treaure chests will tell you if it holds a consumable, or if it's an equip item, then it will tell you what type it is (leg, arm, weapon, etc;). once you get the eye of wealth, this trick can tell you how much money is in a bag of gold also

The insane ratings this game has indicates, I think, how desperately sick people are of TDs and puzzlers. It's rated higher than Monsters' Den. Enchanted Cave is a very good game, no doubt. I played it 'till I finished it. But it is no MD.

so i made it to floor 15 on my first attempt and figured it was time to escape before i died ( i had 18 health and only bought on health potion which i already used). i wanted to continue and clicked "load game" nothing happened so i figured that was for quicksaves. i clicked "new game" and started at level one, with my standard items. what the hell? all it had where two artifacts i found, my money i had when i escaped, and my stats that were upgraded via gems. all that hard work fighting enemies to get to chest and cash was all for nothing. whats the point in spending my money if it's going to go to waste later?

I had so many Items and now, after quiting the game (saving)...
--> Load game takes me back to title screen. --> New quest asks me if I want to delete my current game. -_-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
With regard to items, I think it would be simpler for the character just to start with no items at all, maybe with his starting abilities raised slightly from what they are now. Once you have a few artifacts, the items you get given at the start of every new quest (the shorts, knife and shirt) are no use at all, and don't even sell for anything worth having-- they just get in the way.
Are there any plans to make an extended version of this game? I noticed quite a lot of "small" monsters in the game (Baby Dragon, Young Ninja) with no "big" counterparts.
Good game, and thanks for responding to my problem so promptly. Kudos!

It would be nice if there was a bigger range of in-game achievements so that there would be more to do after the 100th floor. As it was, I collected every achievement except the final money-amount one and the Eye of Endurance while playing the first 99 floors, so the shiny sword I got at the end of the game wasn't really much use to me. If beating the boss unlocked a new set of achievements (things like "defeat 100 golems"), there'd be a lot more incentive to keep playing.

@ Ayden dude, you just copied and pasted Boredcom's comment, which is in the highest rated box, meaning everyone can see it before your copied one. you really didn't think this through, did you?

Considering this is the developers first attempt at flash gaming I think this had been an outstanding display of how to make a simple yet effective gaming development work. While it's not perfect, you have to support and congratulate him on an outstanding effort and no doubt we will see more fantastic games from this upcoming developer star in the making. 5/5 !

too repetitive thought it was random till i saw the same LEVEL over again on anouther floor O.o made me think i wanted random anyone agree with me you want randomness (but make a script telling the randomness to not make it impossable to leave the area or in 90% of levels you get stuck meaning this game will stink even more press the + sign don't make this comment die

I was doing good till lvl 50 something, only 1 time I used wings. Then I died because I wasnt paying attention, no continue, nothing. Thanks for that, now I don't have to do the other 50 lol

i loved this game. you should make more like a second game or another dungeon or anything i played this for hours and cant get enough
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Loved it, it reminded me of the old Lufia 2 "endless" dungeon, for those who played it.
It's pretty easy though, especially with wings being so easily acquired (maybe make them pop in the 1st artifact chest opened?).
As others said, magic is a bit tricky to use, dragging to such a small area takes time, and battles are over too quickly to use it much.
The game could be improved in many ways, it's a great base to add stuff to, but it was pretty good nonetheless! 4/5

Man, this takes me back. It's like a simple version of Angband with actual graphics. Personally I loved the game, I've been playing for about 4 hours non-stop and the only reason I'm qutting now is because it's after 2 am. It's always exciting to see those yellow chests pop and wonder what's in them. The music is nicely done and doesn't get too terribly repetitive, especially since it changes every 20 levels or so. The animations are fluid and the control scheme just really fits the game. My only complaint, and I know this has been said before, is how spells are cast. It would be much easier, especially for us laptop users, to have the spells assigned hotkeys, possibly 1-9. Or you could go the old route and make us press m, select book, choose spell, choose target...heh. Seriously though, a fantastic little game. 5/5

Generally good. Some specific comments: its too easy. I beat it my second time down with 12 big potions by the end. Nothing was a threat after ~30. Potions should not drop from treasure chests. Magic should be hot-keyed; trying to drag it in battle is near-impossible. A little more explanation/significance to the elemental things would be nice; I pretty much ignored them in favor of maximizing attack and was fine. Golems are almost an of magnitude stronger than any other monster; the difference is jarring. Shift-selling would be nice. The most important thing is to balance the potion economy. Overall, I enjoyed it: great work.

(continuation of 1st post) another game try to make the monsters move a step when ever the character moves a step but that would mean a bigger stage that you would have to explore more to see where the exit is like the games i mentioned. I wish i was able to level up myself rather than collecting gems. Some of the music tracks were okay but i liked the 90-98 dungeon one. 5/5 fun game.

I liked the game a lot. For some reason, these types of RPG games interest me, like the old Fatal Labyrinth game that was on the Sega Genesis or Pokemon mystery dungeon. Like someone said, maybe being healed at every shop would be cool. The dragging of the magic and items was weird at first but i got used to it, but sometimes there's a lot of items u want to be able to get to and u either have to scroll or click another tab to get to various items during a battle. But i think you did this to prevent from accidentally using and item when u click it. There was a good sense of balance with the money given and items to obtain. I like the start at the penultimate(second to last) shop you were at thing because it gave you a chance to gain more money and increase stats w/ the gems if you were struggling. Maybe if you do

remember when you use the escape wings you not only keep all artifacts but also your money! so a good tactic is to sell everything at a shop (except artifacts of course) then use the wings. that way you start your next game with lots of money!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
aparadine, the game is hardest at its beginning, once you get the Escape wings, and are close to death, use them. Start a new game. You will have whatever Artifacts you quit your last game with, making the beginning easier and easier each time you are forced to use the wings. It's meant to be played like that, not to play the game once, die because you don't realize you can use the escape wings, or something, and then to instantly say that things are too expensive, money is easier and easier to come by the more times you replay the Cave ;)

No heal when you reach shop? when your low a health potion costs most of your money and doesn't nearly fully heal you. When i started i survived all the way to the shop on level 9, i had 620 gold and 135 health there was equipment i needed but also i needed health. a health poiton costing 350 is just stupid when it heals 100 and you need alot more.

I am disappointed. Not in this game, but in the fact that that an actual issue a player was having was hidden in the comments by the "Under rating threshold" thing. It happened to be the same problem I have. The game is amazing, I've played it on other computers but I'd like to actually take the time to beat it at home. I can't do this because my game is always stuck on the New game page. Rate this down if you want, I don't care. Good game though, it kept me entertained, I love how simple yet addicting it is ;) 5/5. I've never rated another game, be proud XP

Started to play for several hours yesterday. It was pretty fun. Today, my character upgrades are gone and no I didn't press the clear all data button.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Game is pretty easy, if you realize you only have to fight about half the monsters to get the chests + crystals and get to the exit. Never bother fighting to pick up sacks of gold, you will always have plenty of cash to get the items you need from the store (read: health potions). No tactics or strategy required other than "which squares do I walk on" makes me sad.

Can someone please fix the "can't click" part. Every time I start this game, I can't click the "New Quest", "Load Quest", "Instructions", and etc. options. I tried downloading the game as well as going to different sites like ArmorGames, Bored.com, and NewGrounds. It still won't work?
