If you can get out of the 3-1 and 3-2 with the bandages (and later, just surviving 4-3), you can get the impossible badge. Most mid and late tier 3 and tier 4 maps are actually pretty easy compared to their earliest counterparts. Some are so easy it's a wonder they're as late as they are.

Despite this game being extremely difficult, it is fun. I would recommend it to any gamers out there looking for a challenge!

I've tried this game 3 or 4 times. I hate this game more than any other game I've ever played. It's not just the horrendous music, the crappy graphics, the disgusting slime trail or the moronic controls. It's the combination of it all that makes me despise it. It actually offends me.

Beat a stage, and got this tip, "Tip: LOL @ the people who think this game is vegetarian propaganda." I guess the vegetarian community back in 2008 was more rambunctious than I remember if people even considered this game propaganda for vegetarians.

This game could be a lot of fun. There are plenty of hard games which are a lot of fun, e.g. Contra. This game, however, sucks. These are the most laggy, slippery controls I've ever played with, and that's coming from someone who thought Super Mario was too slippery. Normally, I would just leave my 1 star review and never look back but alas, badge of the day.

The controls are misery - 4 Band-Aids and I'm out. What a shame, I've great things about this game too. Maybe it's the "super" meat boy game that's good? This version is rough to play, which blows since the level design is GREAT!

For the impossible badge, lag is your friend. If the game lags with a consistent frame rate (so it slows the game down without skipping frames) then this is one of the easier impossible badges on the site as it lets you make difficult jumps and maneuvers with relative ease. It's still not easy but it's much more manageable.

I will say that this game does have wonky controls. However, for something made over a decade ago? Damn, this is well thought out.

Admittedly, the controls do need a bit of getting used to, but when you do this platformer is definitely up there, for me at least...

Controls are too sloppy. Jumps need to be pixel perfect and the controls are not precise enough to do it. 1 star for "Intentional Difficulty"

Wouldn't load at all in Chrome, so I switched over to Firefox. Now it loads, but the space bar does nothing. Same in Safari. The heck?

Control is just too slippery on land or in the air. Could be less sensitive to make things better. And I don see anything wrong with seasoning my meat with salt.

Leaving my 1 star from back when the game is new. I don't hate myself enough to play more than the easy badge, and with the controls being floaty that was too much.

This game is not difficult because of clever level design or obstacles, the controls are just awful and unresponsive.

I like the game. Physics are a little to "glidey" if that is even a word. I also hate space jump games. Please add controls to change the jump button to a user preference. Like simply the up arrow :)

This game is no fun. Absolutely terrible. The most difficult part is always the landing on the floor, walls, anywhere. I always f... many levels because of directional issues.

I played this game when it was originally released on Newgrounds. It was great for its time, and people praised it for its tight and responsive control scheme. But, as with all the best games coded in Flash's heyday, it's aged like milk. Plus, a decade of different browsers on different operating systems with different keyboard drivers has turned those once-great controls into something slippy and unresponsive. If you want the real Meat Boy experience, I suggest you go buy Super Meat Boy instead.

I rated 1 start so long ago... I would rate 1 star again if it was possible. This is not a game, it's source of all frustration in the world. People have killed for less than this...

Let me put it another way: if the only way to actually play the game is to use a control unit that doesn't normally work with a computer, you have a game that has some huge problems because one shouldn't have to use a non-standard control unit they probably don't own just to play a game: it's simply bad game design.

@slavs, if 90% of the people are saying the controls are bad chances are it's not a matter of players being bad but the controls actually being horrible.

So this game is definitely not worth the effort to get this weeks companion. It's far too hard. And not hard in a fun and challenging way, it's hard because the controls suck.

Hint for the badge if you came here for the Kongpanion. Easiest are Chapter 1 Levels 3, 5, 9, and 12. You will need to go through 4-5 other levels (I chose 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8) to unlock the early teen levels. The rest are not worth the trouble, IMHO.

I've played like 10 levels of this garbage and haven't seen a single "band aid" to collect. WTF do they even look like? How many levels do you have to go before you see one?
