There is like no point to having a cart boy,
i mean like you are way faster then him and he is only good when the boss comes

lol i made a comment on 28th of july about it reminding me of the matrix bit where the army of people raining hell on the robots coming out of the hole and now i saw numerous ones also saying how it reminds them of that movie

The highscore is kinda' shit. Once you get the last gun and the upgraded turrets, all you have to do is hold the aimer at the starting hole in the wall, and then you ALWAYS win, with NO damage, and if you don't buy the last emp upgrade, I assume that could go on forever and make your score stupidly high

so here is my algorithm of beating this game:
walk right, if reach end, walk left, if reach end, walk right
shoot higher enemy (= no swarmer, travel straight to door) which is nearest to door, if no higher enemies are on screen:
if enemies come trough hole, shoot hole, else shoot swarmers
buy cheapest update for weapon or turret, ignore EMP untill weapon and turret are max
repair if money left and door damaged

Good game but it gets pretty repetitive after a while, the angles of the arms get a bit awkward at times, there is a lack of both variety and intelligence for the enemies and, I wish there were more things to buy at the store... 4/5 because I see potential.
Here are some suggestions to make the game better: 1. Change the character so he(or she) is facing the hole in the wall not towards the player. 2. Make some enemies attack that you, the turrets and, the emp. 3. Add some specials like maybe a Mini-EMP or a drone that follows you around. 4. Make a mode where you can leave the room, gain some ground, destroy one of the machine factories and, maybe find some survivors that you can bring back to the city.

Gets so stupid-easy once you have the last gun. That thing can basically kill the entire wave and let nothing hit the door all on its' own.

For those who don't get it-This game along with Effing Worms has NOTHING to do with Effing Hail and Meteors. Different creators, different art style, different game play, same first name.

right... so 1st humanity is doomed via hail then meteors then the effing worm comes in
now machines?????? damn this is a good story sequel!

my imagined coversation between pc and person who sells things pc: i need parts to make a emp shop. keep: get me some scrap. pc: you will die if i cant defend the city. shop keep: i rather make a profit. pc: what collect scrap metal after i set off the emp. shop keep: but then i would have to collect the metal.

I love the game but late on the levels go on a bit too long and I start to get bored.
More upgrades would be good, like another robot to help you or a robot that automatically picks up the scrap metal.
Overall a good game!

As most people said, there's too little variety. Variety is the spice of life, as well as the spice of a bunch of dead robots whose bodies you collect. Also, the game starts out as a challenge (keeping enemies away from the door on your own), but as soon as you get turrets and the BFG, it's basically game over for the enemy. Then, once you have the THOR/final turret, you only need to auto-attack (Also, add an auto-attack button. There's a way you can do it (Hold the attack button down and move the mouse off of the game screen), but it essentially is a browser problem). Also, add a purpose for the jump button, such as collecting parts in mid-air rather than waiting until they hit the ground. Two more things: Add ranged attackers so that even if they get destroyed withing milliseconds of coming through the wall, they can still attack, and also add robots to attack YOUR robot, rather than just "Suiciding" into the wall.

"Everyone defending the door thingy died trying to defend it, you are the only one left" but they don't even shoot back =O
Still, I love this game, needs some improvements to make it less repetitive. 4/5, but faved. Ratings will change with improvements!

Pretty fun game - the middle levels (IE between the point where you first see the grinder squiddies and when you get the mini-BFG) really capture the desperation and hopelessness of the film. Gets retardedly easy towards the end though - thor's cannon may as well be an iwin button since no matter how many enemies come through you can just hold down fire at the spawn. 3/5; fix the issues and it would be a 4/5
@Crapulus There is a suicide bomber robot... how did you not notice it??

What's the reason to make the EMP into a 4 part upgrade other than tricking players into buying one far too early instead of investing into something useful?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The final weapon for your character is far too powerful to acquire so early. It's difficult to lose after you've bought it

An unexpected change in the Effing Games series. From keeping objects in the air in order to cause mass destruction to protecting something with your guns. This is not a bad change in gameplay but there is plenty of room for improvement.
Firstly, a more complex upgrade system and a larger variety of robots, complete with descriptions, would let players get a better idea of what is going on. For example, the starting flying squid robot could be given a description of "Very weak but fast and comes in large numbers".
Secondly, the variety is lacking with only 5? different robots. Although they change in size, speed and damage, the overall challenge and intrigue is gone after a while. Perhaps a ranged robot that attacks the city from afar or a suicide bomber type robot. Boss battles will also make this game more awesome.
Overall, I like this game. Although it has too little variety, it has potential to be a better game and I hope that this game will have a sequel.

you need to put in the description or the instructions that you have to collect the robots to get the metal, i spent so long just standing in 1 place killing the robots and i didnt know i had to collect their dead bodies

Desire the ability to start back at the upgrade menu after dying, rather than rinse/repeat dying because you didn't buy something when you should have. REALLY annoying to have to start back at the very beginning.

deg93 the a-hole who is demanding scrap metal probably needs scrap metal to make those repairs, weapons, turrets, and emp parts. i also have and idea for a new enemy, a robot that stun your mech, and one that make you attack the hatch.
