I have been playing this game for more than a year now and during this whole time, I have seen many players come and go because they were looking for a game like Tetris while Iron Rage is a strategy war game which requires time, commitment to be active and patience to reap the rewards of the hard work that we put in to this game. Is there a Pay-to-play element in the game, yes just as any other social games this game also has that advantage available for its players and it should be fully understandable because after all the developer and his team has to pay their bills too. However & more importantly, their team do listen to the feedback of their players and act up on it.
Also, after reading most of the recent comments here, not only I find the ones negatively posting here for the sake of earning a badge to be pathetic but it is even more sad to notice a couple of usernames with the D symbol beating the same drum which happens to be totally nonsense.

I really hate Kongregate's "Pay for Badges" option. It let's downright shady devs get the spotlight at the expense of the players.
Surely it is the opposite. The badge hunters frustrated of not being able to get the badge in 5 minutes or less, they already have enough to comment and damage a game

I see a lot of negative comments here and I actually played for more than 30 minutes and I pretty like it. Yes there are offers popping up when I start it, but somehow you need to advertise your deals and this game isn't pay-to-win since I don't have any problems here to deal with anything. I just noticed that the deals just give you faster ressources and not overpowered troops that would make the game much easier

The fact it takes more than 30 seconds to load the mouse cursor after a fight drives me nuts. the fact that I have to wait that long to play the game again is insane. Not to mention its slow AF and eats all my memory (3KB). Why torture us like that??
We will check about RAM consumption, but please, have sure you do not have other process running in your PC. About your problems, the game load faster enough, so far. Maybe the browser? please, have in mind firefox is not friendly with flash technology, and give often problems to any game who use it

and I understand you start off with 20 fuel gained per hour, my numbers are exaggerated, but not to the amount where anyone would think it isnt P2W. considering 3000 fuel to build a second oil rig, requires collect fuel every five hours for 150 hours. still a huge amount of time to collect a miniscule amount of fuel.
Thank you for your feedback Commander. In your global map, you have aka "Repeatable missions" who give to your resources and other items. From there you get constantly resources for your missions and upgrades. Please, have in mind the buildings of resources are not the main source.

MR agentir, i left the game on for one day. and I collected 100 fuel. For a beginner, how exactly am i supposed to save up fuel to build a second oil rig? wait 15 days, without being able to play the game because every fight requires fuel? please explain to me the mechanics involved as you so strongly defend that it is not a P2W game, but who plays a game for 5 minutes every 15 days?
Did you play the repeatable missions on your global map, who give resources? did you exchange collections? did you open chests, collect rewards? did you found crusaders and walker can give you the victory in any well-planned fight? I think you left out many things, for think building is the main source of resources in your game.

it is possible to grind your way to the medium badge for free in 2-3 days, though - just save the good units until 30 stars, then use them and gold for "fuel" liberally.

I don't think you will get any intelligible reply from the dev...language barrier is one thing, to which I actually can relate. But mostly they are of course aware they are pulling at straws and they just hate it to be called out for it. The game is intentionally designed to progress slower and slower after the initial few levels and filled with artificially created shortage of resources to which then the game offers you a quick solution - in the form of premium currency. Special offers with a countdown ticking below them - the oldest trick in the book. Create a sense of urgency so people will make purchases without much time to consider it rationally. A gold offer equal in value to roughly 120 $ in the store - more than a fully fledged modern game...and so on and so on. I actually considered just taking screens of all the premium currency buttons ingame and making a collage, just for the heck of it..

I know I'm probably wasting my efforts here, but response to the dev response: Yes, I am a badge hunter, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy games if they are GOOD. This game doesn't give me any incentive to play it. Now, dev says: "This game is made to play it, is a deep and challenging game, not a badge game". Did you even read what I said? With ridiculous amounts of time needed to gather resources, this is not a game, this is a waiting simulator. Having to wait for dozens of hours just to do any action doesn't make it a "strategy" or "deep" game at all. Again, what you have here is a "game" which don't EVEN LET players to play it. Well done. If you reply, I would appreciate if you relate to the issues I brought, instead of attacking me.
In the past response, we are not attacking at all. It has no logic that we attack someone, regardless of the circumstances. That is clear to us. Be a badge hunter, make you burn all without thinking what you do, caring only for the time take you to get the badge, making you in do many mistakes from the begin of the game. Yes, in a specific part of the curve of the game, sometimes you need to wait some hours while something is completed, but you can continue fighting in the meantime. After many tests, we can ensure you the first 15 levels of the players, can enjoy fast enough progress in the game while the player is here for understanding the mechanic of the game, and not to get a badge goal and leave. That is why this is not a badge game.

This game is so horribly programmed that it eats tons of RAM and keeps crashing. The programmers probably learned programming at Trump University. They should ask for their money back.

Pay to Win: A method of gaming in which you give the player an option to play developers real world cash to advance in a game (in any way).
Saying that your game does not have this is not defending it when it clearly has this implemented into it because it is basically a MOBILE GAME. I would recommend you just say that people can choose to just NOT pay you if that what they wish or simply play another game if it bothers them. This is better than most mobile games I have played, you do not have to flat out lie and be so defensive. It is nice and reminds a "abit" of command and conquer.

Resources gathering need a serious boost, fuel in particular. I'm stuck on 20 stars, and I can't move on because every battle need 100-200 fuel, which takes 4-8 hours to gather. I can wait 33 hours to upgrade my oil rig, but no, need to upgrade command center first, another 33 hours of wait. I can't even buy a second oil rig because the warehouse is too small, not to mention the ridiculous amounts needed for it. Why would you even make a game which don't let the players PLAY it? I'm here just for the badges then I'm out, in a year or so, I guess.

But please, do not weak a game just because take to you "to much" get a Kongregate badge. This game is made to play it, is a deep and challenging game, not a "badge game". Oh, please, not another one of those! Who on earth makes all these hideous games? The only "positive" thing I can say, is that it doesn't take you a whole week to grind up to get the badges (unlike other games I have "played". You only have to waste about one day.

Why can't they just make P2W games GOOD? Wouldn't that be a better way to encourage people to spend money as opposed to a boring, drawn-out slog of repetitive combat, confusing mechanics, and far too much micromanagement? It's not rocket science: make a game people want to play and they'd buy it.
This is a war-game, why you will not have combats there? Is not a confusing mechanics, but a challenge mechanics. A mechanics made for a game, not for 2 hours of play but for several hours daily. Is not for sure a Farmvillage game type.

This is the most buggy incompatible poc game I've played on here in quite a while. I suspect the rating is going to tank quite dramatically over the next few days. I wouldn't expect this game to become a success. It's quite obviously translated from an original Chinese version, very badly so. It seems the developer itself can't even speak proper English judging from his previous replies, so no wonder the translation of the game is equally bad. The game crashes every 15 minutes or so. Has huge memory leaks that cause the game to gulp 4GB of memory after a little while. But that's no surprise, every obviously cloned Chinese game I've ever played suffers from this issue. Referrals only work for facebook, even though this is not facebook this is kongregate and so on and so on. I honestly do not see any redeeming qualities in this game.

We will check about the memory consumption, but hope you did not have other process running in your PC at the same time who help in this results. The game is constantly tested, looking for those issues you mention. But the game is not the only variable that intervenes in these errors since also the environment of the player causes many of the failures. Anyway, we have also a discord server where the community of Kongregate it is well attended by our support, in addition to the Kongregate forum

Wow. Just wow. Hey devs, a tip here -- putting in the same response to person after person pointing out how obnoxious your game is isn't going to make you more believable. This was a bad game when I tried it out months ago, it's a bad game now, and it is *constantly* asking for money.
This game should never have been badged. I feel less of Kongregate for doing it, and I love Kongregate enough to give them money every year just to say thanks for running the site.

My suggestion to new players is invest in oil right away. I just hit 27 stars and finally ran out of oil which the game gives you a lot of for completing quests early on. So for a long time my oil well was full and storage was full. have 1 lvl 1 oil and a lvl 2 storage. The well can hold 100 and costs 500 oil to upgrade and a new well is 3000. so if i come back every 5 hours I can upgrade it in 25 hours. And oil is used for I believe everything so cant do anything till at least then. will slowly get slightly better with upgrades. As in I can be gone from the game for longer. So do that first. Hopefully some of my chests have fuel in them.

Is easy just write "is a P2W" game just because you play the game 2 minutes and after 3 minutes drive you to the fact that you can't get the badges quickly. So, you write P2W and problem solved :)

1-star for in-game banners, too-busy tutorial, and repeated requests to go fullscreen. Literally only suffering this enough for the badge and moving on.

The tutorial is fast enough for you can understand in general terms of the game. Iron Rage is not a simple game and is deep enough to be challenging to the players. So, fast tutorial of 10 seconds, is not enough for our game but the tutorial is enough for you can understand and start the game in the good path

Interesting artstyle and could also be interesting combat mechanics if it wasn't for the fact that it is a grindhell pay 2 play/win "game" The amount of "offer" popups is staggering and the fact it wants you to play fullscreen isn't all that bad when you consider it forces that adbanner down your throat when you do not play on fullscreen...yes, that is right, despite the fact it is ripe with waiting mechanics, from building, recruiting, researching even up to opening "reward chests" (yes, you even have to wait to open chests) and premium currency ofers AND (intentionally) nonexistant pvp balancing it STILL goes the extra mile to shove ads in your face. WOW. DO yourself a favour and pass up on this.
The temporary "force" of play in fullscreen is just for the firsts steps of the game. After you end the tutorials, you will not see more the indication of "Please, play in fullscreen".
About your opinion of P2W: We focus hard on maintaining a stable game, either for those who support the game, or those who only put in their time. Both players are important in our team and project. Commander is a feature of the game. There are no prisoners in our game. If you lose the battle, you lose your troops. Our game is challenging and needs a good strategy from you to be victorious.
