save for cannon upgrades.
set aside a little for a tier 2 weapon (better weapon = longer distances = more money = easier)
get the tank.
get the gold gun.
get a few nukes and give it a couple of tries.
With full achievements you'll get to 3Mil easily.
Get the turtle to outer space with the tank. Use the missile and then keep shooting it before it reaches the ground (keep a couple of bullets for spikes). First Million miles are a breeze. With a little luck and perseverance you'll get that shiny badge and THEN you can play this awesome game for fun. =P

i have to agree with forgived in the best comments, hes really tough, 500,000,000 nukes, rocket launchers, spikes, sun, bombs, and he doesn't even break a sweat, his hospital bill would be millions. but he keeps getting up, sighing, then hes ready, really good game. 5/5
