There is a mute button for both the SFX and the Music.
Look near the bottom right corner of the screen, it's to the left of the New Grounds tank.

Wow. That Turtle sure is Tough. He's gone into space, Been shot by a rocket launcher, Nuked at least 400,000,000 Times by Different players, Shot out of a tank, Burned by the sun, Been abducted, Jabbed by Millions of Spikes, and Been Shredded by a chainsaw, Yet, He Get's Right back up, Sighs a sigh of relief. And smiles, And then he's ready To go again.
