Great try at remaking an old classic (Sid Meyer's Pirates!). Definitely needs some balancing because the cannons do too little damage even when fully upgraded, but overall, 5/5.

I agree about the firing direction thing. perhaps in the next game there should be one key for firing each side's cannons, like Q and E or something. Overall very original idea and gameplay. Great graphics aswell.

levels 1 and 2, dont fire a single shot, spend all money gained on crew upgrade. lvl 3-9, fire only 1 shot at the final ship in each level, spend all money on crew upgrade, save the rest. on lvl 10, spend money to max out movement speed, more cannons, faster reload and cannon damage, in that order. as you pass thru towards the higher levels max cannon stuff and spend the extra in turning. armor is worthless just makes your ship a bigger target and easier to kill. good luck. this game is 1/5. blowz anus

Game is really fun. Admiral was relatively easy until lvl 11. I think I'll be stuck there for a while. Any strategy suggestions from those who've beat it?

For once, Kongregate has on their hands a good challenge. I love the game and its physics and its options. It's freaking amazing! 4/5

Tried this on admiral a few weeks ago. Couldn't beat one of the fights near the end as they all came out at once and contols were glitchy, i.e. cannons shooting on wrong side. Hopefully the fix on the update made it possible. Will try again for badge & points.

Fun-ish. Would prefer that cannons always shot from either port or starboard, rather than top and bottom relative to the screen, since this way I can't effectively broadside an enemy ship while moving up.

Your ship moves at an aggravatingly slow pace and every now and again your cannons decide to fire in a different direction. I can't figure it out and don't like it.

waifer, it's how you orientate your ship, if you turn it so the nose of your ship is at a different angle. If you play with it you'll figure it out.

Clearly based on Sid Meier's Pirates!, and done real well. Needs more upgrades like exceptional melee fighters and different ships! Maybe....a sequel? 4.5/5

Guide for shots needed... it's just too hard at present... the only way to effectively take down ships is to board them...

Attack in arcs
i.e. arc inwards towards the enemy if you are passing and arc outwards towards the enemy if he is passing you. This lets you shoot when they aren't directly across from you and you can start getting nice combos starting at a diagonal

It needs an indicator as to what direction your guns will fire when you fire. Pacing is a little slow, and doing pirate raids seem to be the only way to sink a ship. 3/5

honestly i find this game to be SUPER BORING after the first 2 battles.
i dont even care about getting the card let alone the badges.

As has been stated before, the early levels are way too easy if you up crew quickly. I appreciate the growing difficulty curve, and the quirky pirate spin on the old alien defense game, though! 4/5

This game is os boring, that it just doesn't makes you happy when you win a battle, cause a battle envolves thrill, somithing that does not exists in here

Nice game! … I don't know why, but this game reminds me of SPACE INVADERS, am I the only one?
P.S.: check the way the enemy ships move

That being said, now that I started playing Cursed Winds, its really fun. I love the new upgrades, the special abilities, and the new cannon ball speed too.

Skwerl, it is what it is. I assume your talking about Cursed Winds, at: http://gameinabottle.com/cursedwinds.php
While it would be nice to have that version here as well, its up to Greg and whoever else runs Kon to decide if they want to make badges for it. In this case, they chose the toned down game, probably because more players would have more fun with a simpler style game.

making badges for this game while there's an improved, much better version out was mildly retarded. This game is several months old, there is a more recent version with special attacks, removed barriers, etc. thrown in which was finished a few weeks ago.

I was in the last level and was fighting was, I thought, the last boat so I went all out and ended up with like 5 sailors. Imagine my surprise when a giant boat with 200+ sailors comes from the top of the screen. Hehe.
