i got a glitch the money just keeps going up since i destroyed a ship i got like millions of $$$ just look at the highscores and i dunno how i got this but i'm really happy:D:D:D

The last level of this game is really..... stupid. If it weren't for the badge, I wouldn't have even gotten that far.

I love this game! This is the first ever pirate game I have seen on Kongregate and I love the idea and the challenge of the modes. Defeinitely earns a 5/5. I love it.

Also, to those wondering why the challenge is up a day early, I'd like to remind everyone that working for Kongregate is a real job, and yes, we all have Thanksgiving off.

lol too easy, just do what the hint says and spend all gold on crew, then ram them for max gold.

Many apologies to everyone who lost their save files, but please understand that this was NOT intentional, and it certainly was not the fault of the developer (so please don't rate the game down!). Kongregate recently started storing game files a bit differently, which means old games that are newly updated (to include our API, for instance) will unfortunately wipe save files. New games on the site will fortunately not have this problem, but older ones will. Sorry again!

grrrrrr..... I beat this months ago, with a fully upgraded ship and tons of money, and the thanks I get is my save files being deleted, rude! This will not affect my rating, luckily for you, which will remain at 5 stars.

This s a pretty decent version of "Sid Meier's Pirates!".

I agree, it could use a badge. The best way to fight, is to go in like Neison, and sail perpendicular to the enemy fleet, just remember your cannons always fire "up" the screen, whichever side is more up....

By grappling hooks I meant when you get into hand to hand combat with another ship. Range is about 1"+ on the screen.
Also although you can now to to the top of the screen, you still can't shoot down at other ships.
Captain level is really tough. I am stuck one combat before the final battle, again.

I think a great change to the game would be a counter of how many ships are on the levels which lets you know how many ships you've killed and how many are left.

Like the updates. Looks like smaller ships but grappling range hasn't change - or they have really really long grappling hooks.

The playing field is to small. There's very room for manouvering, meaning the best tactic is to max up on close-combat, and go straight for the meele.

I like the new changes in the game. (I can handle my saved game going away. I was only on the second level) I love the change that lets the enemy ships cannon themselves. I was hoping for that. I agree that you should have cannon buttons for each, separate side of the ship. But I do have a suggestion. Make it so the player ship can go all the way to the top of the playing field. Other than that, I would have different types of cannons instead of just being able to get more of the same kind with the only powerup being that you get more damage.

Sorry, I was totally unaware that loading up a new version would kill the saved games... the filename is the same. I will look after how to manage this in the future.

Though I'd like to add: thank you so much for taking the time to read the comments and make changes. While I don't agree with some of them, apparently a lot of people liked them, and really I'm just nit-picking. It's really cool when a dev takes the time to take suggestions to heart, so well done.

Agreed - should not have added the ability to go straight up like that. The space-invader format I thought was pretty cool. Also, I have to say, I'm rather bitter about losing my save-game (was on the last mission) and I'm not sure it's worth playing all the way through again. :(

Now that we can go forward so easily it is WAY too easy. I mean, with 40 sailors you an practically take out the entire fleet trough the game without shooting much or any.
