I'll add to that psyn. Clerics in extreme mode, or any level on hardcore, are a boon to survivability. My most successful extreme, hardcore team is 3 clerics, 1 conjurer producing 2 bloodsprites. Note: at higher levels bloodsprites team heal to full. Deck your clerics out with full sets of runed armor for max pwr regen and nothing can defeat it, not with 5 team-healers and 4 that can resurrect.

OK, I'll write one last comment on my opinion of clerics in Monsters Den :-).
Clerics are a necessity in survival mode. But they don't need to be the exclusive healer.
When played offensively, they are nearly as powerful as a warrior. Increase their combat attributes, and use their healing skills only when necessary.
A ranger, or a (perhaps better yet) conjurer can heal the party, and still contribute to the party in combat.

Invest heavily in all buff skills when playing survival. The mage has its own armor-increasing skill.
Remember, that all character effects retain state between battles in survival mode.

I use 1 warrior, 2 mages 1 healer(cleric) the mages are good because of their Electrical Storm skill which hits every enemy, and the Incinerate skill which is good against boss monsters because of its high dmg. Sometimes i take down 6 enemys on the first round with my two mages :P, Mages own, but thats only if it has good Power regen equips, and good dmg(intel only) what im trying to say is they arent good on survival mode, ...cuz blue equips is the finest that i find there and they aint fine enough ... So does anyone know how i can survive 40 waves on survival mode? if yes then please share some of the info with the ...world :P

the reason you chooose a cleric is he heals, rogue for back row damage, warrior for taking damage and also for just doing a lotta damage, conjuror to summon buddies and also shoot bolts which is basically a mage so conjuror vs mage in my opinion conjuror would always win though i have not tested a mage at the level of my conjuror

if gargoyles didnt damage themselves when they atk they would be to overpowered and should be considerred leaders in the game lol i pwn 1k average with normal atk warrior and 1.2k with rogue sneak atk not too mention the 400 damage poison when he is going to atk

lol best way Cleric, Conjuror, Warrior, and last but not least rogue. Its too easy i kill 2 things each time before they atk me on wave 25 its funny.

I've reached the 60th waves quite easily with : warrior, cleric (melee range) and conjuror, ranger.
Then I stop.
Is there a Saving function somewhere?
Does the survival mode has a end?

Warrior, Warrior, Babarian Mage
no Problem to kill every opponent. Soon im level 400 and no kind of problems :-) I think there is no better way. Dont need a healer cause of damage resistance 99 and enough regeneration.

I thought I would clarify my position on this Warrior/Ranger/Rogue/Mage party that I have been hinting at. It /is/ weak at the start, and must be played a bit carefully. A strike-first approach will kill two to three enemies at every round of combat during the late-game. That means: Warrior at Q40+ (Q60 with potion), and the rest at Q70 and above.

I just don't agree. Melee units have the most powerful attacks in the game.
The mage's Incinerate does more damage than any other skill, and Ensorcelled Blade is an effective boss-killer.
The rogue has the best melee weapon -- the dagger (which gains attribute damage from both Strength and Dex.) -- as well as a diverse set of low-power skills.
Anoint simply doesn't make up for two attacks. A ranger would need only to focus attribute points into Dexterity and Intelligence to become an effective fighter/healer dual.

psyn: The Cleric is a great Tank/Healer in the front row throughout the game. It doesn't need to also be a great damage dealer. With all points in Endurance, Anoint is far from useless on more offensive team members.

Now we just need a quest system and a village!
You think you could add some system so that you could change partymembers between all your parties? And Rogue needs better chance to dodge. Even with unrealistic high Dex and Speed I still get hit!

I think, if I were to play through another campaign, that I might forfeit the cleric in favor of a ranger. The cleric's skills are fairly useless (except for Heal and Holy Light) unless you only increase his Intelligence attribute.
The cleric has no ranged weapon available, so it should be in a melee slot. Unfortunately, this position is better used by another character, as the cleric spends most of the time healing companions later in the game.

Kremlin: A rogue's Coup de Grace attack will let you kill any stunned enemy. Use the mage's Cosmic Prison skill for this. Also, try the warrior's Cleave, and Execute (if you are badly out-matched).
I used these skills through to level ten, until my party's damage output started surpassing the enemy's levelling gain.

I really love this game, time flows by .. but i would have a suggestion for the survival-mode:
If you start survival mode, you get a Shop with random stuff, that's okay, but it would be nice if you could have some "randomize" button or something ... there are times you get a shop that makes it REALLY easy to play, and sometimes the Shop is literally a real pain in the .. you know. So sometimes you have to reroll your group and reroll and reroll and get 6-7 Shops in a Row where the best blue item you can get is some kind of "Plate - +5 Strength 40% Poison Reduce" while in another game you get a Truckload of "Vampire / +10 HealthReg / +10 Power Reg" stuff thrown at your face ...
some randomize-function would be reaaally nice :)

Best game ever. Warrior/cleric/ranger/conjuror is the best team. If u wanna survive, get conjuror a res ability and keep cleric in the last row. Careful with dwarven crossbowman and thats IT. 5/5

Easy is too easy, but I don't seem to be able to beat any boss with on normal with any formation/combination of classes that I've tried. I need a semi-easy setting :\
