Under rating threshold (show) I'm talking about things that would make the game "perfect" in my opinion; it's 95% great, don't take my comments as bashing the game. I've wasted more time on it in the last week than on any other game since I left WOW.

Under rating threshold (show) Another problem with barbarian is it's 2 best damage abilities are the passives. That's great if your party can get a barbarian up to level 25 or 50. You almost have to spend a turn using intimidate, which is sort of like being forced to take an action because they cannot wear heavy armor. Also, their weapon choices are oddly limted. I think a conjurer has more weapon variety than a barbarian. The warrior's Adrenaline accomplishes more in one skill point than a barbarian's 25 in one of the passives.

Under rating threshold (show) I agree, I figure its good to go warrior instead of barbarian. basically barbs are just another pawn to me so that they dont kill my tank so fast and get to my spell casters. Clerics are neet becuase of healing ability, but play your cards right and by the time ur level 20 u dont need them, you get rings that get your health up to 100% after each match.

Under rating threshold (show) Barbarian seems useless compared to a warrior. It can only wear medium armor but it's weapons or damage or skills don't really seem so powerful compared with the warrior. Except for whirlwind, the rest of the skills seem like trash. It is actually VERY hard to get to below 20% hp with a barbarian without making him die(only medium armor) so last stand is quite pointless.

Under rating threshold (show) this game has too much depth for a remake, he can't make another without living up to its reputation and most people would ultimately hate a third (unless the programmer is chuck norris)((which is possible))

Under rating threshold (show) This game has been out for a long time and everyone still loves it. I would love to see a third one. The creator has plenty to work with from the thousands of comments and obviously a big fan base. I hope other people agree that a third one with even more customization options could be the #1 game on this site

Under rating threshold (show) making the cleric a priest is good, i put mine in the back row and mash the intellegence button; the armor on the prison skill only lasts one turn and yes adrenaline PWNS; chistophilis is right on the hail of arrows thing

Under rating threshold (show) Asd: Hail of Arrows seems to divide all added effects by the number of attacks, or at least it does for poison. If you have 12 poison and Hail of Arrows 3 targets, they'll each end up with 2 poison per hit. I'd imagine stun%, kill% and vampiric work the same way, though I could be wrong.

Under rating threshold (show) I've got some mad ideas for the game: Doing Hail of arrows with full: Vampiric (OMG, full heal) lethal or power regen. Doing the prison skill of the mage (Forgot the name) on a warrior (Can you?) after using adrenaline. Making the cleric a priest (Not using him for battle: Smite and heal)

Under rating threshold (show) Doomed Heroes Badge was trivial. Front row cleric (+30 mp regen), warrior, iron golem. Back row 2 summoners (one with +30mp) 1 blood sprite. Front row does whatever. Back row has one summoner refreshing the sprite, one attacking and the sprite healing all. Kill all but one unit, then pass and heal until you're completely refreshed. I could do this infinitely, there was only one challenging fight.

Under rating threshold (show) Awesome game! Turn based games are hard to find. This is old school. I'd pay for a version with a little more variety so the play doesn't get stale so fast. I have tons of ideas for expanding this. If you update it or need testers for 3 let me know. I'm still trying to make barbarian work. I'm guessing he really shines in vampiric gear. Beyond more variety, if I could only make one change I'd add a "swap weapon" or "step" action to give dual rolers options, especially bow rogue, melee ranger or incinerate mage. I'm still exploring though. This makes me jones for DnD.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm guessing I know the answer to this, but is there any way to reach the store other than getting a portal scroll or other object? I keep hitting full inventory and having to discard, which being a cheapskate, I don't like to do! Then again, I also horde items and never use them, which doesn't help either. Thanks!

Under rating threshold (show) Jack, i was about to insult you for askign that question, but the answer is 6 pages back so I guess I an answer it again. Temporary becomes permanent gives you 1 or 2 potions that can raise two stats 5 points each. "A gift of magic" gives you special enchantment orbs. "Mundane to extradonary" takes one normal item(white border) and makes it a high powered unique item.

Under rating threshold (show) on easy, you should all fight bosses, and using druidhs idea(First Line: Warrior Second: Conjuror, Cleric, Conjuror. 1st level boss is a little bit hard, but later it's really hard to lose. Conjurors can: summon Wargolems to the first line, Call Souls of dead allies and Banish all summoned creatures (even Human's Aetherguard). With staffs they are useful to kill Wraths, and all second line stuff. Cleric is full time doctor (with Holy Light, Purify! and Heal All). And warrior with Execute and developed Leadership quickly become killing machine)

Under rating threshold (show) Dwarf bosses are actually the easiest. They can heal themsleves, but they kill their accuracy doing so, and do not remove poison. I normally play warrior, cleric, ranger, rogue. All up front, ranger in the back. If the warrior has decent armor, throw the rangers Natures Balm on him. Dwarfs need to be worn down, but they don't deal alot of damage. A combination of poison, healing, and warrior attacks can easily outlast them.

Under rating threshold (show) Chike, if you are playing with the store on, I suggest clearing the first level, but ignore the boss, go to the second level, grab any easy to reachs chests, then use the scroll. AWJ is right, anything on the first floor is usually obsolete on the second.

Under rating threshold (show) Another tip: until your team is quite mature skill- and gear-wise (and even then it's a good idea), ALWAYS fight melee bosses (the kind where the boss sits in the front row--undead lords, half-trolls, etc.) with one guy in front and three in back. Temporarily swap your rogue's dagger for a bow, and have your barbarian use charge from the back row, and boast once he runs out of targets his charge can reach. All the front-row bosses in this game have an attack equivalent to the Warrior's Cleave, which will utterly foul you up if you have multiple characters in the front row, especially if some of them are medium-armored.

Under rating threshold (show) On Extreme, always buy your buff/debuff skills before the expensive AoE skills. With the higher monster HP on Extreme, just flinging out arrows and lightning will leave you with no power and a screenful of half-dead but still fully-dangerous monsters. Killing the monsters methodically one by one (and thinking carefully about what order to kill them in) often works better than trying to wipe them out en masse. On my successful Extreme run, Hail of Arrows and Lightning were actually the *last* non-passive skills I unlocked on my ranger and mage respectively. Oh, and I killed everything on every floor that run, although fighting the bosses on the first 3 or so levels probably isn't worthwhile even if you can kill them--because of how item stats are related to level, most purple items you get on level 1-3 will already be obsolete on the very next level.

Under rating threshold (show) @Section9 - No doubt. The greenskins (troll spear thrust + goblin fireball) and the dwarves (healing themselves every other turn) have given me the most trouble so far on extreme, regardless of the regular comps I run. Two hits and the toon is dead, and god forbid my healer get stunned for a round. I'm playing with the store -- not that much of a masochist =). Thanks for your help.

Under rating threshold (show) @antdoodied - thanks! never thought of using 4 clerics. I'm going to give that a try. I did different comps using warrior, rogue, ranger, mage, and conjuror ... but anybody not wearing heavy armor dies pretty quickly to mob groups with lots of AoE.

Under rating threshold (show) Chike: No matter what team you are running with, beating the bosses on the early levels is sometimes impossible. Beat everyone else, and if you think you can't take the boss, don't waste time and potions trying. Once you hit level five though you should be in a posistion to win. If you are doing the hardest difficulty, which means no store, four clerics is a retarted idea.
