They do have a menu button, its the green arrow pointing left on the bar at the bottom where your people are (when not in battle)

Gift of Magic has VARIOUS effects. It gives you an enchanting orb, and it has many effects, such as regeneration or replenishment

The temporay becomes permanant alter gives you one or more potions that have a permant +5 to strenth and endurance. .. Tictamint, unless you are playing the Hardcore option, your party is alwasy revived when defeated.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Temporary becomes permanent, is (for what i think) a revival spell.
If your entire party dies, you get a message with something like: ''As if it were magic, you were revived'' Just before that, i got the altar.

as long as u have a plain/old item at the bottom of ur list, it will become purple when u use the ordinary/extraordinary altar, if u try it with a blue/green item its just a waste

This is a great game... I've spent many many hours trying to beat all 4 challenges... By the way could anyone tell me what is that weird MYSTERIOUS altars for? One of them says temporary become permanent, another one says "a gift of magic". Any ideas??

Barmaley
The first levels can be hard depending on your luck, but the higher you get the more ridiculously good your rogues becomes overpowered, especially since a lot of legendary equipment adds both strengh and dexterity.
It takes a good bit of strategy though

z7master thans interesting. I've tried no-cleric config, but found it's harder. Yes, we lack 1 fighting unit but there is often cases when you can't survive by regen only.
And I don't use healing altars even at early levels. only 8 used so far :-P

If you really want to get into min/maxing the equipment for survival mode, consider that medium armor wearers can also wear light armors if that's the only way to get a certain statistic you want (usually anyone with heavy armor is in the front line and does best to stick with heavy stuff). Consider carefully the skills you plan to select for your party as well, as this should greatly influence the gear you buy. If you plan to use Adrenaline for your warrior, for example, you can skip buying any items with Tenacity in them. If you're going to have a Ranger, you shouldn't need any Purifying equipment, either, thanks to Nature's Balm.

gbaz, that tactic almost never works.
Two common things will beat you sooner or later.
Either you get stunned
Or you run against a fearsower or shaman and they hit with a No Mana regen power.
And in 338, the tactical option completely removes your mana regen anyway.
In a desperate situation, yes, works fine, but by then I only use the warrior to draw fire while everyone else flees.

338 is really the way to go for a challenge, 1 do it with 2 rogues, 1 ranger and 1 warrior.
I'm at level 70 now and I clear every level 100% without using the yellow altars or even going back up to rest. :D

If a warrior has all power regain gear on (30+ total power regain).
.
. Would Defiance used each turn make him invincable? (healing palm to prevent poison)

I find for story mode, 2 clerics and 2 mages for quick game.
1 cleric front-middle. Highest armor with quickness and life leech. All stats into endurance for added HP.
1 cleric back-middle. all stats into int. Gear is int+power regain.
She is for spaming her hit all skill/cure all.
2 mage back-left/right. all stats into int. Gear +int and power regain.
They are for spamming that hit all spell.
Usually my mages kill off all non-boss monsters in 1st round, and then my clerics usually finish left overs before enemy makes a move.
Boring that way, but I wish for survival mode has option for level, 10,20,30,and so on.

survival mode = choose a party, choose skills and statistic improvements for them, buy equipment, then attempt to survive as long as you can against wave after wave of monsters.
Access it from the campaign selection screen - there are two dungeon campaigns and the survival mode. Survival is the 'Fall of Telunos' campaign.

Adcatcher, I'd suggest warrior as tank because his Armor skill helps with that dmg reduction depreciation thing. And his Defiance skill also can be very useful.

You know, I've been using Cleric-Cleric-Ranger-Mage/Convoker with a lot of success lately. I have one for healing and set the other one up as a tank. I find I have to pick my battles some in the beginning, but the two-cleric setup makes the deep bosses and Nexus a snap, and once the tank-cleric gets going I can pretty much mow stuff down with him with impunity. I go bow-only on my Ranger because Hail and Pin are something I could never live without. Any thoughts?
