this reminds me a lot of the game FATE, because it's a dungeon game. there are differences because you dont really move around, all it is is basically a turn based card game. when i played this at first i found it really frustrating and difficult even on easy mode.

Going first is an advantage, you can get through a lot of rooms with taking little to no damage which allows you to save up potions for larger rooms.

I love this game and play it incessantly. But I do have one question. Is there any point to raising quickness? So far as I can tell, everyone goes only once a round no matter how quick they are -- meaning that the only advantage to having a high quickness is that you go first. After the first round, you're just like everybody else. Seems like a real waste of a stat to me (also a waste of skills like the ranger Swiftness spell). Someone who's very fast should be able to go multiple times per round while the warrior in her plate mail is lumbering around :)

Barmaley was right. This game is a piece of cake and any strategy is usefull because the game is easy.
What´s make this game the best game in flash that I was played is the hardcore difficults. Playing this game at extreme with monsters with increased life and damage, hardcore that is game over on defeat, attrition that shop is closed and tactical that we can´t regenerate our power, oh my god. I played the normal game without losing any char at any battles. At this score at 388% difficult I taked only the third floor. And any strategy that I made before is useless. This game is the best. All days I play it and slowly I can gown more in the dungeon. But always in a new game because game over at 388% rate is really game over. Barmaley needs to make a video to show his techniques or to teach us how to make the first moves at battle.

Anyone knows how to find the purple portal scroll to teleport to town? I used the one in my inventory already. Is that the only one, or are you able to find more in the game itself?

lol I hit level 1600 today, keep going...minotaur axes that do 50k damage are sexy when you put an enhancement orb in them ;)

Loganhab.... It took you 2 hours to beat ten levels? What took so long? Its a great game and if it takes you that long you have no forethought. I mean, the farthest i can get is the 60th level (not on survival... I suck at that one) but its a fun game and I hope they make another one thats even better!

worst game ever if it was a little bit more harder it would be good also not worth the 2 hours 4 that medium badge...

how do i end my monster den 2 game to get the score? im on lvl 64 and have died 10 times already? but i keep coming back to life?

True that. If Garin actually reads this thread I'd love to know if its even posible to make it to level 400 on survival let alone 2000(obviously hacked or otherwise cheat scores). I made it to level 96 with a solid group and I don't see anyway with the enemy hp level progression that any combination of chars and items will eventually get worn out by level 300 for sure. Only the game's creator know's the game balance inside and out to clear that up so for anyone playing survival until we know, you gotta figure all top 25 all time al fake scores.....

MoblinMan: You use the Revival potion on the Warrior (there's a small and big version, they differ in how much health and mana they restore on reviving the character). Also, the altars (yellow globes on the map) revive all your fallen party members and restore all the others' health and mana as well, just be careful not to use them when not necessary, as they can only be used once. The revival potions can be found as loot in the chests or after a battle, or purchased at the store (for which you have to find a teleport scroll first, which can be kind of hard).

Good I'm glad it's not just me with the % thing. Oh well I still plan on hitting level 2000 by next week. Moblin if you are playing the campaign then you need to either use a revive potion or a alter of restoration. If you don't have either of those available you're screwed until you get one unless you can revive with a cleric or conjurer.

true monkeybot...you always miss in the first turn and you get lethality/creature lore etc only after half the fight is over. it is BS since all my guys hve 95% accuracy and still miss in a 6 enemy fight! do the math.

The "mundane to extrodinary" will take a basic"white" item and turn it into a purple item. For instance an axe would become either a blood harvester or a golden axe. I'm not completely sure but i think the quality of the starting basic item will increase the damage of the resulting purple item(planforged, Voidwood, magesteel, mitril and damascene seem to be the best grades)
Yea iddunno if the number crunching battle programming doesn't like me or what but all of my guys have at least 35% lethality and I'm lucky if I get 1 insta kill in a six enemy battle...That's BS. I also miss way more than I should, IE 88% chance to hit but i miss 2 out of six enemies that's 66%...otherwise thise game rocks my party rapes.

Yep that's what i thought, there's no rating modifiers for the survival mode, only the two campaign modes. When you start a new game it skips that part.

Darkness you got the winning formula for sure i just used mage instead of ranger for wriaths but yea buy all thick high grade armor for warrior and flank with 2 iron golems. Use str and armor buffs to make them all awesome mage armor for mage gives him 40+ DR in the back with the conjurer and cleric who all should have runed gear with as much insight suffix as u can afford. Killer game huge item base cool char skills if you haven't played and like turn based rpg's this is about as good as they get for flash game. 2 thumbs up!

Dude! You just completed the Doomed Heroes achievement in Monsters' Den: Book of Dread and won the Doomed Heroes badge and 30 points! Easiest way - hard to believe but its true : dont wear any reflection armour

In the beginning, I think that health regain is most important, but yeah, later on go with any instant kill gear you can find.
