entlee your rather wrong...on my lvl 132 party in den of dread, i can one turn any bosss party that level has, and a point on endurance, playing without spending into endurance is fine, the only times i put into endurance is when i have a warrior/cleric that will tank for the back row
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ok hey is your goal to kill every monster in the place or just get to the exit cuz ive killed every monster in every den
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Frostguard, let me clear this up. 1st, a boss party will not die in 1 turn. 2nd, meet 3 trolls boss party and you will get what i mean(in case you wondering how i lose). No point in endurance? Ur party will just 1 hit killed by monster(i once play like that thought, but well, 1 hit ko). Against legend... rogue is not important actually, ranger is. Dmg part can be done by other char like mage, dish out more dmg lol

Warrior in front middle, Cleric behind him, and one Ranger on either side of the Cleric. Nuff said... I easily achieved all badges with that set up.

Legendaries are quite easy if you can just last the battle with heals/tank and a ranger/barb doing the dmg; and of course, gettin their counters would be useful. (Dusa = stun res; Mino = barb w/ jostle; Hydra = barb in mid slot w/ charge not killing heads)

I just can't understand. How did you spend your statistics points? I spend them to reach higher damage, use most equipment (armor) what gives me statistics what are needed to this. I don't waste any statistics to endurance. I just don't use potions, two shrines and a retreat per level are enough. And, if I can, I reach high quickness, because I think the best way is to survive is not healing but not letting monsters to damage me by killing them before their turn.

I once try ur party, fail very badly. Potion not enough, it is hard to get past 20 lvl. But if you lucky, get some item, then you will be winning for very long(i hate the luck part)

Ranger is much more important against legend lol. Creature lore plus immune poison, + barbarian cause 30% dmg reduce. However, rogue is very good against those no poison resist, but if you want to say dmg, it will be barbarian, if you lucky... Vengeance+ brutality + reckless rage = 230% normal dmg.

Fizzywix: Yes, intellect is the best if you use staffs and strength if you use melee weapons with conjurors. Something else: Gorgons are a bit overpowered and are far more dangerous than the other two. Petrify and raking claws are just all right, but nest of vipers can cause very high damage (however, I have plenty of vampiric equipment and high damage, if she doesn't use petrify, I can counteract the poison by attacking).

Not really gambling, when I play with warrior-barbarian-rogue-ranger, Entlee - like I said, ranger with rain of arrows, barbarian with whirlwind and warrior with cleave finish off anything in less than a round, expect for legendary monsters. Rogue is very important for destroying anything (with full poisoncraft, if the enemy would even survive the attack, gets its 50 % as poison). Against legendaries, rogue is a must-have, I think (sap strength prevents them from using their powerful specials, or cripple allows my warrior to use overwhelm on them, which I don't need to say is very powerful. Another thing is their poison - the legendaries (on my level) have more than 150000 HP, and only with my rogue, they get about 20000 poison damage each round after some rounds (my ranger with envenomed arrows helps, also). Even Legandary monsters can become pushovers when we have rogues well equipped and developed.

The best combo is cleric for general healing and upping other characters power (using anoint ), Warrior who can take lots of dmg, and dish out a decnt amount, ranger for area attacks ) is pierce attack ir amazingly usefull and barbarian who makes up for his lack or protection by dishing out ridiculous amounts of dmg and much later in the game, most of his attacks are one hit kills.

how long is each campaign? before i lost my old hd, i had gotten down to 15 levels on the first campaign (maybe more, cant remember exactly), but im just curious on how many floors

No, read what i write, clear all the lvl, include lvl1. I want 100% clear. Not very hard without cleric but i hate rely on potion(no shop= no supply too). Btw, i not playing extreme, 3 char(mage+barb+ranger) can kill at least 4 normal monster lol, cleric is just for tank and heal, not dmg. Anyway, just for play safe, i go for cleric. You like gamble, go for 4 rogue, and hope you can get good dagger all the time.

However, quickness 70, what you have in the beginning of the game, is far enough, you will act first. And have a rogue in the back row equipped with bow and all points to dexterity added; all others should have daggers with strength or dexterity.

Entlee: Try playing hardcore with four rogues. Use scrolls of deception on the first level when necessary, fight only against smaller monster gwoups. On level 2, take hide for all of them. Rogues can reach Quickness 100 withoutany difficulties, so they will act the first. Hide with all of them, no one can attack, and then with double damage, you can kill anything. Trust me, it works even on extreme (attacks after hide deal double damege) and on hardcore, without a cleric.

Yes, sorry for my words if they were aggressive or something, I also thought this as an opinion. I didn't find clerics too useful, however that must be my playstyle - I like to reach very high damage by choosing the statistics that way and high quickness via right weapons, and eliminate enemies in the order they come - they can mean barely a harm to a party when it is equipped well and uses this strategy. Anyways, almost all fighter classes can heal themselves (or do something against death - warrior resolves, ranger has healing lore and can even regenerate others, rogue hides so it can't be attacked) - but I use only the hide out of these. And that's only for the double damage. Perhaps all this was because I was a little upset at that time, sorry.

Oops, didn't notice your comment that healing was rarely needed. Emphasis on the fact that you may have a different playstyle.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ Frostguard: Yes, cleric isn't much for a fight, but has access to Heavy Armor and is the only class that can heal effectively IMO (plus Litany of Pain is nice.) You may have a different playstyle and this may not work for you, so just so everyone knows my previous post was my opinion and not necessarily a fact.

Garin, was Legendary Lure added recently? I've never encountered them (I was on level 103) and now I find them every time in the Emporium).

styles: Cleric is the worst one, according to my experiences. Healing is quite rarely needed, and cleric is the only one what HAS to have high value of two statistics: strength to physical and intelligence to magical attacks. Warrior is far more in physical fight and mage is a lot better with magic. Cleric replaces a warrior and a mage but makes both of thess classes' task poorly so doesn't make any sense. I rather use: fighter, barbarian, rogue, ranger. They take down almost any enemy before they could be harmed.

I fought 3 legendary monsters in 1 campaign.... and didn't even finish the campaign! Note: NEVER play Hardcore without a Cleric, and a good one!

Regarding survival mode: There's a lot of min/maxing you can do here. Pay very close attention to the resistances you party can get through spells and don't waste your money buying items which duplicate it (like, say, buying Tenacity items for a Warrior using Adrenaline) - remember that spell effects last the ENTIRE survival mode because the battle never ends...

I found 2 legendary monsters in the first 25 levels. In addition, I fight one almost every level, because I buy the lure from the shop. I've only seen the hydra, gorgon, and minotaur though.
