Doomed Heroes Badge was trivial. Front row cleric (+30 mp regen), warrior, iron golem. Back row 2 summoners (one with +30mp) 1 blood sprite. Front row does whatever. Back row has one summoner refreshing the sprite, one attacking and the sprite healing all. Kill all but one unit, then pass and heal until you're completely refreshed. I could do this infinitely, there was only one challenging fight.

Awesome game! Turn based games are hard to find. This is old school. I'd pay for a version with a little more variety so the play doesn't get stale so fast. I have tons of ideas for expanding this. If you update it or need testers for 3 let me know. I'm still trying to make barbarian work. I'm guessing he really shines in vampiric gear. Beyond more variety, if I could only make one change I'd add a "swap weapon" or "step" action to give dual rolers options, especially bow rogue, melee ranger or incinerate mage. I'm still exploring though. This makes me jones for DnD.

I personally like a rogue a cleric a warior in first line and then second line ranger. the druidh combo isn't working for me

Play on extreme and check the box that says no store. You will just still have to drop alot more items, but it will be funner.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm guessing I know the answer to this, but is there any way to reach the store other than getting a portal scroll or other object? I keep hitting full inventory and having to discard, which being a cheapskate, I don't like to do! Then again, I also horde items and never use them, which doesn't help either. Thanks!

Jack, i was about to insult you for askign that question, but the answer is 6 pages back so I guess I an answer it again. Temporary becomes permanent gives you 1 or 2 potions that can raise two stats 5 points each. "A gift of magic" gives you special enchantment orbs. "Mundane to extradonary" takes one normal item(white border) and makes it a high powered unique item.

lol guys try a barbarian with whirlwind and 3 mages with their skill that damages all. get lethality items or stun items for all of them through the shop and any boss level will leave you to gang bang the boss. :P well it gets boring after while but who cares!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wow. i think its some kinda sick joke, first i killed 2 normal mobs, and both gave me a legendary item ' ring of boundless energy '. then i killed the boss mob and it gave me another 2 ring of boundless energies?!?! so now after every fight all me team members have full hp and power. :P

on easy, you should all fight bosses, and using druidhs idea(First Line: Warrior Second: Conjuror, Cleric, Conjuror. 1st level boss is a little bit hard, but later it's really hard to lose. Conjurors can: summon Wargolems to the first line, Call Souls of dead allies and Banish all summoned creatures (even Human's Aetherguard). With staffs they are useful to kill Wraths, and all second line stuff. Cleric is full time doctor (with Holy Light, Purify! and Heal All). And warrior with Execute and developed Leadership quickly become killing machine)

Dwarf bosses are actually the easiest. They can heal themsleves, but they kill their accuracy doing so, and do not remove poison. I normally play warrior, cleric, ranger, rogue. All up front, ranger in the back. If the warrior has decent armor, throw the rangers Natures Balm on him. Dwarfs need to be worn down, but they don't deal alot of damage. A combination of poison, healing, and warrior attacks can easily outlast them.

Chike, if you are playing with the store on, I suggest clearing the first level, but ignore the boss, go to the second level, grab any easy to reachs chests, then use the scroll. AWJ is right, anything on the first floor is usually obsolete on the second.

Another tip: until your team is quite mature skill- and gear-wise (and even then it's a good idea), ALWAYS fight melee bosses (the kind where the boss sits in the front row--undead lords, half-trolls, etc.) with one guy in front and three in back. Temporarily swap your rogue's dagger for a bow, and have your barbarian use charge from the back row, and boast once he runs out of targets his charge can reach.
All the front-row bosses in this game have an attack equivalent to the Warrior's Cleave, which will utterly foul you up if you have multiple characters in the front row, especially if some of them are medium-armored.

On Extreme, always buy your buff/debuff skills before the expensive AoE skills. With the higher monster HP on Extreme, just flinging out arrows and lightning will leave you with no power and a screenful of half-dead but still fully-dangerous monsters. Killing the monsters methodically one by one (and thinking carefully about what order to kill them in) often works better than trying to wipe them out en masse.
On my successful Extreme run, Hail of Arrows and Lightning were actually the *last* non-passive skills I unlocked on my ranger and mage respectively.
Oh, and I killed everything on every floor that run, although fighting the bosses on the first 3 or so levels probably isn't worthwhile even if you can kill them--because of how item stats are related to level, most purple items you get on level 1-3 will already be obsolete on the very next level.

@Section9 - No doubt. The greenskins (troll spear thrust + goblin fireball) and the dwarves (healing themselves every other turn) have given me the most trouble so far on extreme, regardless of the regular comps I run. Two hits and the toon is dead, and god forbid my healer get stunned for a round. I'm playing with the store -- not that much of a masochist =). Thanks for your help.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@antdoodied - thanks! never thought of using 4 clerics. I'm going to give that a try. I did different comps using warrior, rogue, ranger, mage, and conjuror ... but anybody not wearing heavy armor dies pretty quickly to mob groups with lots of AoE.

Chike: No matter what team you are running with, beating the bosses on the early levels is sometimes impossible. Beat everyone else, and if you think you can't take the boss, don't waste time and potions trying. Once you hit level five though you should be in a posistion to win. If you are doing the hardest difficulty, which means no store, four clerics is a retarted idea.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
chike, its all up to you. if you just wanna get through it use 4 clerics. if you want some challenge use a warrior with thick armour, a theif with devastating poison, a archer with amazingly high lethality, and the last one's up to you, preferably a mage to finish up low lifes and not let the int items go to waste.

Any tips on strats or comps to run for the "extreme" difficulty? I'm having trouble getting past bosses on the early levels. The mobs take half health with one hit.

A Cleric is useful but not absolutely necessary for a campaign. However in survival mode only a Cleric can remove the 50% damage reduction a Dwarf Warrior can do to you with Punishing Blow. In campaign modes, heavy vampiric items will heal you in lieu of a cleric.

found a bug, or at least a crappy feature. it happens when
1. You use a scroll to get past a group of monsters, and it's the only path to the rooms you get to.
2. You click on an empty room that was behind the monsters.
3. It automatically makes you fight those monsters in the room you skipped. How it should work, is the long move doesn't work if you can't make it to the room before a fight.

alexloverain: The 'deep creature' levels are the ones with things like Greebler, Arachnoid and Storm Drake. I think they're intended as somewhat Lovecraftian 'things that should not be' - I don't think the term applies to other types like orcs (the 'greenskins') and so on.

could anyone please tell me what does it mean by "deep creatures" in the ranger skill ""hunter's prowess"?
i'm guessing like anything non-undead? would be really cool if it is.

lol the last boss is FAR too easy, i killed him in 2 turns, first i pinned with ranger so i didnt get hit once hahahaha

In survival, I usually run with a cleric and a conjuror. That way is one of the dies, the other can revive them. In the normal game; you have a hard time without a cleric but it is possible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The only way some of us reach the 100+ levels in survival is to VERY painstakeingly create the perfect loadout for the group. Once done though, it works brilliantly.

Runaway: If you had to create a new party to get better items for survival there is an easier way. Simply return to the character screen, go to menu, and go back in. The items will refresh.

Quelmotza: It will be shed the same "difference of opinion" for all the rest of the games you may dislike. Don't you dare criticizing whatever you also do too. 'Some' people may like RPG as you and some of us; and 'some' people may not like RPG at all.

this game is great. Those noobs that say it is boring are just idiots that dont understand how to play it properly and want to whine about it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It is good. I can say that much. It gets boring pretty fast unless you've got nothing else to do like me. Well, I don't get bored of it because i keep trying different teams on different campaigns. Right now I've got myself a team of full warriors, a team of 3mages and a cleric, and a team of full mages.
