not hugely random...the items are about the right amount IMHO
btw, try this team:
Cleric 1, top right, strength stats, Cleric 2, top center, endurance,
Cleric 3 top left, strength,
Cleric 4 bottom rite, int.

Great game like others have said too many items/ too random. In Monsters Den 2 (hint hint) it would be nice to have a item combination feature. XX% chance to fail and lose both items but if successful you get a combination of their stats. Or maybe a new character, a black smith, he doesn't do much in fights maybe a few buffs, weak attack, but has the ability to modify weapons and armor by taking old discarded items and working them in with the new.

You should make it on Hardcore so when you all die, you restart 1-2 floors back, 5000 points down, or somthing, its really frustrating getting to around 19000 points and having to restart :(

Good Build is Cleric, Warrior Mage, with Ranger in the back. Use Anoint on Mage. Then use Electric Storm. Over 1000 damage total. Its Amazing.

I'm on beginner mode. I usually don't like these games because of complexity or time consuming. Monster's Den on beginner is neither. I am having a ton o' fun. Thanks!

My fav build... two rangers and a mage in the back, and one warrior in front.. i lvl him all endurance, it has so far gotten me to lvl 47 (almost to the badge!) on hardcore very very very easily...

Whats everyone's favorite build?... i like Cleric - Warrior - Rogue .. with ranger in back ... .. activate all 4 character's group buff / debuff skill on bosses .. makes a big difference

Would be nice if poison killed them before they got to attack, instead of after. When your characters are poisoned, do they get to attack before they die?

The Easy badge is won after defeating the boss on level 9. It doesn't "end" though, as you can keep going indefinitely.

How come it won't let me equip shields on my Warrior when it clearly states that it is equipable by the Warrior? Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

Automiatically updating better items onto your characters would be nice, instead of having to delete items constantly.

Call me crazy, but I did away with my mage for the hardcore game. I went cleric-fighter-rogue ranger in the back works fine, and i'm at lvl 97. Going to 100 before retiring them

i personally love leaving an archer in the back...as long as you leave him there, you barely have to put any points into anything but dex. and that makes for some strong fire support ^^

In the sequel you should probably make bosses immune to the mage's prison spell (and other stuns). Also, "last boss" units like the Corrupter should probably be given a party.
It is much too easy to just take bosses completely out of fights.

wierd glitch, in my extreem file, level 35 no cheats, it says ive explored 91% and killed 85%, but when i looked at my hard file and looked at my extreem file, it says 99% explored, 99% clear, 0 leaders killed, 0 party member death. and it keeps happening like that.

way tooo many items i spend half of the time deleting items
nearly everything i find is better than the things i wear

Nice game…I’ve gone to about 50 on my beginner file…trying out extreme. Do any of you guys prefer Ranger on top of Mage or Cleric?

The game didn't work with my little mac, i use Mozilla and never ever had such problems before (all other games on the site work well)

Cleric != Priest
If you are familiar with D&D at all, clerics in it wear heavy armor. And seeing as D&D is a popular thing to base stuff like this off of...

It's a technical issue. I could've implemented the save system better. At least it won't happen in the sequel.
It won't be fixed in this game because I'm paranoid about anything that could invalidate people's existing save data. You'll have to live with it, I'm afraid. If you quit at the beginning of a battle instead of partway through you won't have any issues- it wasn't intentional, but as wizzy says, it does act as a disincentive to retry combats.
