Having played the sequel to Monsters' Den before actually playing Monsters' Den myself, I'm slightly less fond of the original. It's still quite good though, as it has many of the important elements that made Book of Dread so great.

It's a solid turn based RPG. After awhile (floor 11+) it starts to get too boring, especially with the repetitive enemies.

I like the game, except for the fact that if you die, you have to start over. Because it deletes your file if you die. Otherwise, great!

Just reached level50 on hardcore - used the following party/tactics
3 rangers and a cleric, rangers having full dex and an endurance point every so often, the cleric in the front lines with full endurance.
Played until floor 15 or so killing everything on every floor, getting drain life on every character and stun resistance, and then ran through every floor fighting as little as possible apart from every boss on the floor that i found to upgrade gear.

*stares at yet another chain letter, thinking that they're pathetic*
Decent game, though it gets very repetitive and fast (I'm doing the hardcore badges, floor 32 atm) 4/5

I will agree with BloodyMuffin - a cool game, but most of the time i spend on the inventory screen.
Less item loot and the game would be great.

Anyone able to tell me how you make the badges work? I have the first badge, to allow me to teleport and sell items,,,I thought?

Way to many items. After every battle, after every chest you find, you always have to go back into your inventory to equip the better wepons/armor. Otherwise, 4/5.

I agree that there are waaaay too many items, its very frustrating looking through all of them.
How many levels are there?

Note, if you are playing hardcore (or harder modes) and want to kill legendary monsters in the 2nd Monster's den or corruptor in this one, use a rogue to cripple, then you can overwhelm with a warrior (no matter his speed). Combine this with pulverize or just attacks in the first monster's den and you'll destroy bosses. Enjoy!

i can say honestly that i didnt hack, i gave zaraki a tactic on his profile, go into his profile and check it out if you want to, thats how i did it.

Great game. First I'm going to get hard and impossible, then medium badge, I've started playing on hardcore mode xD
5/5

just did the impossible too, sigh this game is easy, and it only toke me 1½ hour to do all the badges, impossible is not a super endurance badge, toke me 50 min to do it ;)
Dude! You just completed the Hardest of Core achievement in Monsters' Den and won the Hardest of Core badge and 60 points!

Dude! You just completed the Dungeon Curmudgeon achievement in Monsters' Den and won the Dungeon Curmudgeon badge and 30 points!
Very easy badge, and it only takes 20 min to do ;)

still working towards level 50... it's more tediousness than hard.
To EarthUPS.... you only get badges on "beginner" and "hardcore" difficulties. So if you chose the standard or extreme difficulty...
