If I have a cleric in the group and power regenerates over time in battle, it doesn't make sense why I wouldn't be able to heal BETWEEN battles...

Gah! Beginner mode Corruptor is impossibly hard if your chars have low defense and high damage reflection. Basic 3 warriors and a cleric setup.

*additonal* I did keep playing on, but what I meant was I couldn't stand playing it for a long period of time, before needing to stop, and come back later.

While well made, this game is a clear example of how flash developers attempt to half-do a genre. You can't have a game like this without the rest of it (visual enemies/characters/proper story/shops/towns) because what you end up with is a well made portion of a game, but without the other elements it's very dull, there's nothing to draw you in with just pictures or characters/enemies, and a text plot. There's some character development which is good, and the item variation is also good, but it's not enough. You do one level and you've done them all. It's just the same thing over and over and over, and it's not packaged in a way that stops it becoming dull. I HAD to stop after 6 levels, because it was just boring me too much, although I did want to keep playing to a 'corrupter'. It has promise, but it needs some of those other elements to become something special. 3/5.

some advice for hardcore mode: if you know your going to die in a battle, close the screen and your progress will be saved only to the piont right before your fight

@ metroco: No, the rest and heal is what it says, just going up there to rest and heal. The difference in this is that you won't get any score penalty, unlike the altars (-150pts).

I notice that I only get 1 retreat per level (rest and retreat)... although there are Green arrows for up and down levels - does this mean I can simply return to say level 7 and kill the boss after I go down to 8 or even 9 and gain my levels ...?

at first i wasnt paying attention to the stats and all that and thought that this game was pretty boring, but after the second or third dugeun i relized that it is pretty easy to understad.
