With 15 billion angel investors and 10 nonillion earned (low compared to many, I assume), I have no problem with a complete reset of scores. Starting from fresh is fun.

costs to pgrade the levels are off, at level 300 oil costs 16.5 quintillion, newspaper costs 97.1 quintillion.... wiers that the one that gives the most money is so much cheaper to upgrade!

At around 300 of each item bought, the prices get reversed; the oil rig is the least expansive (except for lemon stands) and the journal is the most expansive. This doesn't quite make sense.

i played this game from the first day, but i dont like the idea to give people, who started before the big reset, any kind of bonus profit. give us a rolex or a golden goose or something, but it should not give a benefit.

HyperHippo, could you please put the updates in the game-news box? That way you won't be dependent on the number of likes or run the danger of an outdated update-post taking being the only visible one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you are considering a complete reset, might I suggest giving all players who started before the reset a special hidden achievement that gives a good bonus (like a permanent +3% angel investment value) and carries over to all manual soft resets. You could call it "Capitalist Guru" or something.

@olimar44 my recommendation would be no less than 50, because if you get 50 you will be producing twice as fast when you restart
after that try to at LEAST double or triple your angel investors every reset, until you get to the point where they start coming in incredibly fast

The server reset is neither good nor bad, no matter what people will find exploits and game the system. So it is really doesn't matter to me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You've made a single player game, hosted it on a portal site, and yet most of your updates are focused on exploit-prevention? I doubt this is popular due to the leaderboards. Let people cheat themselves if they want and give us more game that we love. Time invested is the only stat that could matter and the only one you could half-assed hope to keep exploit free. Eff a leaderboard.

It seems to me, that changing the mechanics, that there will be no "cents" anymore would be great! As for me, it only eats some useful space.

i'd say the new update sounds good, and i like the idea of a server reset. (i was on from the start and the angel investors we got from the 11 X upgrades was rediculusly jummy ^_^) but realy unfair to new players, so leveling the playing feeld sounds fair.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You should definitely reset the scoreboard, when all your improvements have been added. Then it is - in my mind - a whole new game, and I will do a hard reset my self at that point.

I enjoy this. I don't quite understand why banks are costing more than oil companies despite the fact that I have more oil companies (example: I own 300 oil; next upgrade costs 16.85 quint. I own 298 banks; next upgrade costs 19.62 quintillion). Not sure if this is a result of the update or if I'm just noticing it now, but that's definitely backwards.

I'm a bit confused. Why, eventually, prices of the low investments (like newspaper delivery or car wash) go to hell? They are WAY more expensive than the highest investments... in fact, after a while, the oil company becomes your cheapest inversion while still being the most profitable one. So.. is that a bug or something to balance the game somehow?

i'm waiting for the pathc to come out to make a hard reset if you don't do it kongregatewile. the billions of AI's were too much a game killer already for me

The pacing of the game seems all off since update #1. At update #1 I had around 5k investors and 200 of each investment and the game was still going at a nice pace. I've resetted a couple of times since then, now I have over 200k investors and 200-250 of each investment, and the game has slowed down to a crawl. I can leave it overnight and have enough money to buy maybe 4 or 5 investments the next morning.

Dev, Anti idle added reply code based on the valiue of currency held. Consider a code based on # days played if you're gonna do a board wipe and have a feature tracking real days played now, measured in game ticks so calendar changes don't affect it

KasrkinLM: Look up Short Scale Vs. Long Scale. Many countries, including the UK since 1975, use the same short scale billion (10^9) as the US. In fact, almost all english speaking countries do now. Before the 60s, France also used the short scale, and before the 90s, Italy also did. However most countries that speak those languages use long scale billion (10^12) now.

About the planned/considered total wipe: I'm against it. The boards might be heavily skewed, but i really don't care about those numbers, since they generally don't mean anything. If it wasn't bugs inflating those, it would be hacked scores. Let them have (or ruin) their own fun, at their own pace. I do care about seeing the number of my own AIs grow though, and wouldn't want weeks of strategizing (and clicking, don't forget all the clicking) to go to waste.

I didn't think I would get to a point where asking for this would be necessary, but commas in the number of angel investors would make things a lot easier in a glance. Sorry the first update hit some snags, but I hope to see continued progress. Other than the one grievance mentioned above, this is an unusually well polished idle game that I have enjoyed thoroughly.

I know that the lower tier investments with the exception of lemonade stand becoming more expensive than higher tier ones is intentional but that doesn't make it any less stupid. Is is particularly ridiculous at higher levels where the price difference becomes immense. The 401st newspaper delivery should not cost 10x as much as the 501st oil company.

It might seem that when you refresh the game, It calculated the added cash as a result from the time the game was loaded and not when it was closed. When I reset, build a lot, and then press f5, I get a lot of cash, but only the first time. I went from 3 sextillian to 745 sextillian in one refresh

USA is the only country in the world where 1 "billion" is 10^9 instead of 10^12, keep being different just for the sake of being able to destroy almost every country which disagree with you

if you have to wipe everyones saves then give people that have been playing for a while and got far in the game some reward that doesnt actually affect gameplay as more of a...show off kind of thing...i think that would be worth all the hours being wiped away...just a suggestion i dont even know if its possible or what it would be haha.

A reset will not change the exponential growth of companies. it's exactly as it was before the update. It wasn't as noticeable then, when 300 was the end goal. The price is a fixed percentage - but each business is a different rate than the others. Searching comments, or doing some math will give info to know what is going on & strategize.

Yeah, it looks like the offline progress includes the time that the game is up and running as well; I had the game running from 5:00 P.M. yesterday to now (4:50 A.M.), getting an average rate of $2 sextillion/second, and wound up with about 100 septillion before refreshing the page. After refreshing, which took all of 3-5 seconds, I'm suddenly at $260 septillion. Not that I object to free money, but I don't think it's supposed to work that way. :-P
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
there is a problem that in high numbers the paper stand becomes te most expansive from the others and after him the car wash and so on, is that intentional or a bug?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I hard reset every major update anyway to experience how the update affected the game, it's like a new game, but it should remain optional
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I feel like i missed out on the newly added tiers (from the update). I just went through them so fast. I don't even know what the different tillions mean XD I support a hard reset.
