This is defenitely one of the better TD games, I love the genre, but its been a long time since one kept me up all night, and pushed me to perfect every level, without even offering any incentives. Its a shame there were only 15 levels, a level editor and the ability to share levels could make this game go a long way.
I really liked the simple system, just a few towers, and just a few spells, but still everything is useful. And thanks to the terrain types, even when you get one tower type pumped up, you've still got to experiment and use the others.
Great game all-around, just wish there was more to it.

I keep getting glitched. When the gem is returned to the starting place, they still manage to pick it up from where it was before it returned. Because of this I can't get past the 2nd to last level :/

This game is overvalued. Gemcraft days, weeks and maybe a month to complete, this game few hours or a day.
This is not the best "TD" but if it were longer it would be the best

I like the upgrade paths. I like the different area for different towers. I do think there should either be a way to return a gem, or have the towers focus on a gem carrier. A lot of times I saw towers attacking other heroes instead of the gem carrier.

Best tower defense game yet. It is also the nr. 1 game on kongregate, confirming that it is a pretty awesome game. The upgrade system (with experience and special abilities) is very well done, and the gameplay is exactly right (not too hard, fun, terrain advantages etc.). Good job for making the best game on Kongregate yet!

OMG. One or the best TD on Kongregate i think this ice Towers are the best.But Congrats really should have Badges, i think it becomes Badges for yet 5 of 5 but let me play a little bit more to show how good it reall is but i think its goody also good graffics good system, i want to look how the thiefs are.But for yet 5 out of 5. Oh and favorite.Not just one of best TD,s no also one of best Games on Kong.

there's a glitch where my gem on the road should be transported back after 4.5 mins, and when the 'good guys' come and walk past where it WAS lying, it simply picks it up like it was meant to be there

The scoring system seems a bit redundant as all the achievements are obviously connected (enemies don't leave the screen without a gem, for example). Perhaps cut it down to 2 achievements (gems and waves) and rebalance them respectively? Also, the gem portal spell is horribly bugged. The gem needs to disappear right away. If an enemy touches it while it is teleporting, the timer resets (or worse, the game things the gem is still lying in the same location even though it teleported back to the nest). Otherwise, a great game. Nicely balanced towers and a good enemy difficulty. Lowering the dodge chance for assassin's and eliminating ninja bosses in the early waves (I couldn't start beating them until the levels were 30 waves long) would be my only suggestions.

A really well done game , I enjoyed every last bit of it.I like the idea of enemies beeing the heros and you as the overlord.Sometimes beeing badass is better than goody two shoes.

I'm pretty sure someone else has said it before but i'll just say it again. The return portal skill of teh demon branch doesn't work, it merely makes the gem its icon vanish back to your lair. Basically, the gem is still lying there in the same spot but its now invisible to the player, the monsters can still go over and grab it.

Ok thought i'd try again, after the bugfix. MUCH better, and actually a challenge :) Only, as said before, the cloaked enemies are just unfair. Most of the time the Boss is cloaked, so you almost always loose a gem then. Unless you save up lots and lots of skillpoints for uber damage etc on all towers, at which point you just replay the levels. Still wish there was an endless mode though.

I like it much. But: 1) Missing possibility to reset skills. 2) There should be an xtra spell to get the gems back to the "nest"

This is the first game that's has wowed me enough to leave a comment. Love the graphics, gameplay is challenging but not impossible and it's not too gruesome that I can't let my kids play too. Brilliant- thankyou.

Very good TD game, one of the best I've played in a long time. A nice twist, and good interface. Nice gameplay as well. 5/5

sell button is way too clickable... you dont know how many times i almost beat a difficult level, but accidentally clicked sell instead of the left upgrade, or close, and ended up getting screwed by that dumb decision i definately did not want to make. strongly suggest making a "are you sure you want to sell?" button.

There is a small glitch which is very annoying with the skill where the gem is put back in the cave after some time. The picture of the gem is put back, but thegem actually stays where it was, ennemies can therefore take the gem without going to the cave. I hope my explanation is understandable, my english is not really good...

I really like it, it's not like other TD games, for little variety it has it offers great fun, there are other games with over 30 towers out there and they get boring real fast, this one with just under 10 keeps me playing for hours

Small bug: Occasionally, and usually on boss levels, if my crypt fears the enemy too soon and they walk back to the entrance/exit, the level is over and I lose a gem.

a very well done TD, would be nice to have an 100+ wave level after u complete the others which u could 'farm' for exp so u get to see how uber ur towers are with +40% range/rate/damg
along with the other bonus's
