very very good game.
I am having trouble with the invisible champions though. Im going fro brilliant on every single level, but on level 7 the first champion always get me. any advice?

a quick hint for those that have troubles with ninjas: get a couple towers up front and a bunch in the back. when the ninjas first get hit they active thier smoke bombs and in 5 seconds they get past your middle towers. But it wears off near your gems. Your towers back there will be waiting to blast those mofos.

either fix those units that dodge projectiles or change the description to "95% chance to dodge projectiles" so that you're not lying to us

It needs more levels, some kind of bonus stages where you can choose just 1-2 tower types and all that matters is the placement.
Towers need more upgrades (not levels), for example, crypt's mana steal upgrade is kinda pointless if you are going brute. Maybe some kind of freezing tower? (I know that there is such a skill, but a tower would be better)
And maybe even a new type of tower that increases the range/speed/power of closest towers. Of course every game has them, but I can't take that those fire/demon/whatever towers have such a low range.
Den becames strong only about when it is upgraded to 1 star. Until then it's more like ninja-activation tower.
Anyway, one of the best games on this site.

@Boolicious: I haven't tried it yet, but THANK YOU for the pointer about SHIFT also working for meteors. It somehow didn't occur to me that this might actually work.

I love tower defense games and I fully enjoyed this game. The graphics, the mechanics, the leveling up, the challenge, all of it is perfectly balanced and a blast to experience. The only part of this game that lags for me is having to deal with the enemies with a "50%" chance to dodge an attack. Overall I'm sure it balances well between all the enemies as a whole but it is extremely frustrating to watch all my towers miss a single enemies over and over and over and over again as he rushes for one of the gems. It turns many of the maps into a luck based mission where no matter how I'm set up, they still get through because all their dodging effectively makes them invincible. Perhaps making it so that they dodged every other shot, or better yet, programming it so that sequential hits and misses become less likely as they happen more often to help prevent situations where the enemies dodge everything.
Other than that though, the game is incredible.

Is very difficult to get the "Brilliant" award on lvl's with ninjas as the final champion. seriously one needs to spam meteor and prey their quick enough with it. fully upgraded it takes 4 meteors to take out that ninja before he gets a gem. near impossible without a hotkey for meteor.

@CeruleanDragon: You can hold SHIFT to shoot multiple meteors. That works fine for nearly all ninjas and ninja bosses. Don't forget to max the "more meteor damage" and "reduced meteor mana cost" upgrades.

Level 14 is a hard nut to crack if you're going for Brilliant. Some 5x400 damage fireballs won't kill boss. I guess you've to deal the remaining 500 hp all at once (because of the smoke bomb). How to do this? Getting dens and temples (with Ignite?) up and ready?

5/5 for being good fun. Kept me busy a few hours now and doesn't get boring. Would like to see a sequel (not more towers, just more maps and maybe abilities or higher levels) with a map editor! :D

I give up! Level 11 Brilliant is impossible. I waited and stared at the ninja boss on the "incoming" list until the bar just hit and he appeared, then I dropped a meteor shower on him... and another... and another... I got in 3 (would've gotten 4, maybe, if there were hot keys, like there should be), but no... barely got him down to half hp before he grabbed a gem. Fantastic. I should take off a star just for how annoying that is.

Super. Might be even better than gemcrafts:
- 3 levels of "victory" (leave at least 1 gem, leave all gemes, dont even allow to touch gems :)).
- almost no way to make "unbelievable" defense in last levels. Either think, either loose. Quite challenging
2 BlackPigeon, why do you think there is no way to stop them? I have all levels completed in "brilliant" (so, nobody even didnt touch my gems).

Ninja champion tactic, get your mana to at least 300, don't use any until you come across a ninja boss. Then use 2 meteors on it. Upgrade meteor to full to make sure it works.

Make the assassins dodge every one out of two hits instead of having 50% chance... They are an unfair foe with a chance of dodging every single bullet.

the thief champion wave 40 on levels 11 and 12 is nuts even if you hit him right at the start he will be invis long enough to get the gem and make it most of the way out would gladly trade frenzy or meteor for the ability to remove invis

Assassins need to be vulnerable to something. They almost got away with four gems after what so far had been a PERFECT game.

Money is still the thing that makes the world go 'round. Go for the money upgrades, both for cutting and killing, then get some mana upgrades going from undead tree and voila, you have victory.

Upgrade undead until ur about lvl 10, max out soul vault,mind control, lich king, and ice mastery for sure. Then go into demon. Max out basic traning, adornation, all seeing eye, demon lord, and finally fire mastery. The reason for not getting scorching trasure or return portal is that you don't want to let the enemies touch the gems AT ALL. You may get this if you want but it's better not to. If the enemies don't touch the gems AT ALL, than you get brilliant status, giving you more exp. =D i write alot

can you get "brilliant" score on normal and hard levels? i seemed to be unable to get it, even though i finish without having any creeps get my gems (perfect scoring)...

This is a good game except for the experience system. When you make a game easier for a player who has leveled up, you lose your chance at creating interesting puzzles, and instead opt for a simple grind. That's the wrong way to make games. This game could be fixed if you only gained XP for a level for the difference in score between your attempt and your previous best attempt. 1/5 as implemented.

Found a bug where all my gems were stolen, but I didn't lose. ended up winning the level. can't remember if it said I had 1 or 0 gems. Anyway, I assume it's something to do with killing the guy carrying your last gem once he's off screen, but before the game registers the gem as lost. It was on level 13. Fun game.
