@Xelestial: To kill the ninja boss at wave 40, you have to do some things: (1) Max out 'Meteor Study', 'Meteor Mastery' and 'Mana Pool', so that you have 500 mana max and meteor costs 100 mana (2) Fill up to 500 mana before the last wave (3) shoot 5 meteor-attacks at him. This will kill him.

Last Level Wave 40 that ninja boss is impossible to kill before touching the gems... even if he is Feared... he will reach the gems.. therefore its impossible to get a "Brilliant" Score... even with Fireballs maxed out it is impossible.. Please ADD ANTI-NINJA TOWERS OR SKILLS!!

While being a great td game, great graphics especially. This should not be the number one game on Kong. I think it has the potential.. as people have been saying but at this point it does not have much depth and does not require much thought to play. Honestly the only strategy in this game is fill the high ground towers with crypts and and fill up stuff around that with other crypts if possible and a few fire laser w/e towers on corners. If you keep workin on the game and increase the level of strategy required and the depth so that you arent doing the exact same thing every time. Also many upgrades are rather pointless. Oh and hot keys DUH!

Gah, the ninja champions are SO cheap. You basically get half a second to hit and freeze them, when their cloaking has worn off but they haven't grabbed a gem yet. Can't freeze them and kill them before they thaw? Too bad, you lose.
Rankings should be a measure of skill, not dumb luck.

A meatier version of Elements TD. 5/5 The graphics are decent, but it is the game play that excels. There is a balance between large and small maps, and as the game progresses, a gradual increase in complexity and difficulty that is well met by thoughtful skill sets and the need to use the spells in play. I've spent several days grinding on the game in search of excellent and brilliant finishes to levels and am not yet bored. At present, I have all brilliant and excellent finishes except to level 15, although I can and do look forward to the hour when my skills are maxed and that too is attainable. My only complaint is that with only 15 levels, the game may still be too short and a level editor for player created content would certainly be highly educational to all those interested in TD creation, in part because these levels and skill sets are so well balanced yet still complex. I fear I may find myself wanting MORE.

It seems as though it's impossible to get a brilliant score on level 7, yes I have the six gems upgrade, and yes they don't even touch a single one.

This looks like a game that deserves an impossible badge. Vote up if you want this game to have an impossible badge. Maybe to get every level beat on Brilliant? Anyways, maybe if we get enough votes we will see an impossible badge in the badge-list when badges come out!

Thank you Kongregate, for bringing back the recent comments. I did not mind top comments that much, but people spaming about how bad they were was really getting annoying.

Everybody who commented isn't lying. This is one of the greatest Tower Defense Games I have ever played. It's not complex like Desktop tower defense or other tower defense games where you have 30 towers to choose from and you can't decifer the power. In this game you can.

Really fun game without a doubt. Creativity a plus. If there is a sequel bring it on cause this is a really good game. Needs badges, other than that 5/5

Max tower bonuses:
Green crit --> Extra Shot (chance to shoot twice)
Green ballista --> Triple Shot (3 bombs per shot)
White drain --> Disarm (chance to remove enemy's power)
White fear --> Chain Hit (hits another enemy after the first one)
Red radiate --> Corpse Bomb (kills damage nearby enemies)
Red burst --> Daze (slows down enemies)
(Please vote this up to give players a reference.)

While being a great tower defence for sure, I see room for improvement. 1) hotkeys for towers, spells, menu, attack wave, speed etc. It doesn't need to be complicated, the layout could be as simple as 1 2 3 for towers, q w e for spells, shift for speed toggle, space for attack. See where I'm going?
Anyway, I really like the concept of different ground types. It adds a distinct flavour to the game saying "this isn't Gemcraft, this is that OTHER gem game".
Another thing you should think about is the difficulty of this game. I can beat it. That means it's too easy in the state it's currently in cause I normally suck at tower defences. Maybe it's just your way to appeal to the casual casual gamer.
As of now, I see a great game with good music and high entertainment value in front of me, but a bit shallow and non-polished. Therefore, I'll give it 4/5 stars. I'll give you the 5th when it's perfectly polished.

For those who are having problems killing the last ninja on level 14, get your meteor spell up to max, and make sure you have the skill that lets you get 20 mp when you place a temple. Make sure the round is going slowly, and when he appears, hit him with 5 meteors. If you have been able to build up catapults near the entrance, then he will die with just this. If you don't have these, then quickly build 5-10 temples using the shift key. This should give you enough mp to use meteor once or twice, which should kill him.

Ninja Boss on final wave ruins this game. I could have everything maxed out and chances of killing him are still the same. Utterly stupid.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Jkeisu, if you are talking about smoke bomb enemies, just create a tower near the entrances where enemies come, as well as some near the middle/gems. This way, the first tower hits them triggers their bomb, then the others kill it as it is revealed. Also, you can still hit them with the meteor spell.

I'm a slow learner. When I finished the game I had the usual Brilliant! to OK spread. I decided to go back and try some of the levels where I was just OK. Imagine my delight when I found that I was still picking up skill points. Now I'm working on Brilliant for every level. I should have it by 2015 at the latest. ;)

invisible enemies are really annoying, and i would very much like a talent reset button, but otherwise, a good solid game

dunno if it's just me... but bosses that goes unhittable for 5 sec (crossing the whole map & a bit more) grabbing a gem is pretty damn stupid :P

I've got the way to beat the super ninja in the LV14. First, upgrade your blue tower on MIND CONTROL and LICH KING. ICE MASTERY is also good, and spend the rest points on blues. Then build as many blue tower as possible and fully upgrade them. Cut down trees if mana is full and use FRENZY to take the ninja(after they appear), dodging guys. Before the FINAL WAVE, sell all the other towers and.... Bet on it! (What a foolish strategy...)

Great game 5/5. One of my favorite TD's in a while. Only real comment is maybe modify the sale button, I have sold towers on accident way to many times...though that might just be me.

1. Add spell hotkeys. I cannot emphasis this suggestion enough. You might call it a demand.
2. Toggle sound should be split into Music/SFX.
3. Add a level after the completion of the main 15 level, an extra 16th endless attack level. It will satisfy many people's request for difficulty, plus it adds another API category to track.
Can't wait for the sequel, honestly! You got my 5/5, although I see great potential for even more features and improvement! Keep up the great work!

You can attack Ninjas with meteor spells even if they are invisible - and 5 spells are enough to kill them. So it's no problem finishing every level with brilliant (as I did ;) ), though it takes some time to get the spells you need.
