It's pretty fun, but you have a serious balance problem: ninjas. Ninjas are not fun, and they're the only actually difficult enemy in the game. As a result, the game lacks serious decision-making because the only enemy you really have to care about is ninjas. The answer to everything else is "more." More towers/upgrades/whatever.

the boss ninja is impossible to kill before he gets to gems... which means u cant brilliant the last level !!!! -1 which makes 3/5

How to beat those annoying stealth enemies: Put one tower at the very beginning of each path, to force them to go into stealth, so it can start wearing off. Then place a bunch of towers near the gems.

really great game like the different upgrade paths and spells desperately needs hot keys it doesnt take away from the game but it would make the game less mouse driven

I used a point on "Return Portal" expecting a returned gem not count against me in the final rating of Brilliant->Excellent->Good->??? I was sadly disappointed :( I guess NONE of the enemies are to touch the gems at all to get the "Brilliant" rating?

I also meant to add, when and if you make a sequel, make a map sort of like Risk or Gemcraft Chapter 0, where you need to complete one map to move on to the next maps. This is the ONLY change I would recommend.

Great game, and very balanced. I enjoy how this one balances out both purchasing new towers and upgrading current ones from the beginning (level 1) without the hindrance of cash flow. Also the fact that three different towers though different all start at the same tier without one being more powerful than the other. Most TD games I've played have it where you need to build lower end towers and when you finally have the money you need to sell them lower ends just to make space for higher end ones. I am level 23 and I never sold a tower yet, and I think that is partly due to the nice strategic method you made of specific land placements. 4/5

This game would be awesome IF thieves didn't stay in stealth so long. They make some levels near impossible, and not the fun kind of near impossible either.

agreed. has that wow skilltree feel, needs the reset to go with it. i guess its short enough a game that i can just start over, but.. also, seems like a perfect game for some real badges. Not gonna say it's better than gemcraft, but f'in solid. I'm givin it a 4, but a 5 if you make these adds.

The problem aint the Assasins but The DAMN NINJAS seriously at last lvl wave 40 the boss ninja have a LOT of HP and run very fast.. even with fireballs (each fireballs do 390 damage he run so fast so i can cast 3-4 even the fifth cant kill him) i Cant kill him. Can get a "Brilliant" Score in that wave. Omfg make some Anti-Invisibility ability or Tower. for that reason ill give you a 4/5

it seems to me that the +% tower damage from the demons skill tree does nothing......i can see the added range and firerate passive bonus but not the damage

Oddly addicting, the spells add a nice way to participate more than just placing and upgrading towers, and the steadily increasing tower cost as more are placed is a new touch.

Even completely upgraded, it doesn't seem like there's any feasible way to stop an invisible boss. I try to load up the end by the gems, and try to ensure that the dude gets hit immediately upon coming into the screen, but even if i pelt him with meteors, he still manages to get to the den and dies with a gem in his hand - preventing me from getting a gold. Annoyed.

Anyone else think these voices sound familiar? The one that screams "no no no" sounds like Bruce Willis, and the one that goes "uhuh" sounds like Jack Black.

I love how this game isnt one of those terrible/poorly built ones. I like that you took some time and effort on this. especially the graphics which where pleasing to look at. ALSO KONGREGATE GET RID OF TO COMMENTS!! Get this to 10000+ some votes and maybe they will consider it!!

This is the best TD game i've ever played, 5/5 and the idea of not having a reset button is really good as it tests your decision making as well.
This game needs BADGES.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yeah very good game, one of the best TD, i don't have problems with theifs, if you get enough dmg on the first hit and have decent defense near your gems you'll get them, also if you use fear on the crypts on high ground that#ll work too
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Finally final lvl 14with Brilliant. Basically you just gotta use crypt fear on the last boss ninja (and no other attacks at all) but not too close to the entry because once an enemy touches the entry they run for gems even if fear is in effect.

This is a great game, nice concept, very fun. Like any game, it could use some additional refinement, so I can't wait to see version 2! Oh, and nice catch, making the sale price of a tower proportional to its purchase and upgrade cost. With level upgrades to reduce those costs, it would be all too easy to forget, making endless cashflow possible through repeatedly buying a tower and selling it at a profit. From a game development standpoint, very nice catch!

Hotkeys for spells please -- I could easily get a "brilliant" rating on level 11, but I can't cast meteors quickly enough on the final ninja boss.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Got brilliant level 14! Woo! Make sure the first damage he takes is from several highly upgraded crypts - to do this I had to sell some of my early high ground towers. Then pound him with meteors!

I think it could use hotkeys for selecting towers or spells or for sending the next wave for example. Still very solid and entertaining, 5/5.
