so what if the music has been used in other games, the author obviously felt it was the best available for their game, they are composed for anyone to use

I HATE THAT MUSIC ITS AGE OF DEFENCE AND ITS BEEN USED 2 times after Age of defence in games like it. Why? its not good

Ok, am I missing something or is there no hold ground or retreat option? Just spam, spam? This makes the Shamans useless as they just wander right up to the castle, briefly healing/buffing a few units before being slaughtered.

I know this game is not about any historical accuracy but just to point it : the Gallic people were much more strategic and had better weapon crafting skills than Roman Empire, Ceasar just had the chance to come over multiple tribes instead of an unified army. Then he wrote history as it is the winner's privilege.
Just to point. Asterix is one very friendly character but he does not represent what happened ;)

The music starts out as the song from Age of War, then when you are playing the game it's the music from Castle Crashers

1/5, simply because i'm tired of people using kongregate to advertise for their game site by making "this character/campaign/whatever is only available on ".

Where is this battle music from? I could SWEAR I hear invader Zim's computer yelling "PROCESSING!!!" during the song! XD

and btw liked the game and programming is very good - almost no lag on big armies and everything runs very smooth and looks polished. 4/5

great concept, but utterly foolish that siege weapons.. the things that were DESIGNED to knock down walls dont work on their base... and walls designed to not let in swords, shields, and pointy sticks through.. crumble under their.. I guess.. imagined superiority? doesnt make alot of sense to me, sorry.. beyond that.. pretty decent game.

gaul campaign 1st mission description. "Fight Rome head on. Defeat them here and Rome is ours!". To my surprise my disposable (and most valuable) units defeated them, but i got 0 xp for that mission and looks like Rome isn't ours(( But i'm still proud of my galls)

Why do people need already existing games to describe new ones? :P It's just a typical push-the-lane game. Nobody whines when another box2d physics game or a side-scrolling shooter with nothing new to offer comes out.
Typo in first cutscene "ready the SEIGE weapons" and "hold them off until my men get SEIGE engines". Stopped playing after that, can't tell if there are more.
I think the main reason it's not as awesome as it should be is the music. It's overused. Everyone has heard that normal battle theme in launch the turtle, the same goes for glorious morning from age of war. I think there's too much well-known music pieces with bad quality. Honestly, I can wait a minute more, just don't make me mute the music because it sounds bad. Where's logic in that? I already wait 3 minutes for music to load and then mute it because its quality is too low to enjoy it.
Everything else is fun.

Was rated at 3/5 until I played the second race (Vercing). Now 1/5. Seriously, a game that derives "challenge" by convoluted mechanics and a super cheap AI (infinite gold, no cooldowns, etc) is simply frustrating, not challenging.
