Warrior with vampire ring, max melee, max fortitude, fire staff +2, fireball and lots more... still took a load of potions in ice caves to stay alive but I made it

having too much in inventory does not disappear it, sell off unwanted items to get empty squares and maybe use a save and restore game will fix it most of the time

tramfanthe: floor number 16 is the last floor, it has the goblet instead of a down stair, win by getting on the goblet square

This game joins is my prime candidate for 2017 Kong GotY, although I admit that I do love me some roguelikes.
The hard trophy is not that difficult - I have managed to get it using a single-class Warrior, without any religion and while getting poor loot (I think I finished the run with +3 plate, +2 sword, some basic leather boots and gloves, ring of sustenance and not much else). There were a few close calls, altough they usually were results of me charging a faraway caster or thoughtless tabbing. Buying a single talent point might be necessary with this build, as you will want every talent ASAP, although you can leave missile reflection as the last one to grab.
I enormously enjoyed the way you could have opponents blow each other up, as well as the semi-random dungeon structure. The upgrade system is nifty, and the way the game plays makes sure that even once you see everything there will be some fun to be had.
Now, for that 45 minute challange...

Can we get some more indication that we're poisoned? I keep murdering myself because I don't notice that I'm slowly dying.

Suggestion:
Merchants should always sell at least one key. This is because due to how rare keys are, it feels like we are being taunted by having EXACTLY the book we need hidden behind a locked door then finding a key 6 floors later. At that point it is basically a waste of hunger.
So please, make keys a guaranteed part of Merchant inventory. Not several, just one. That or put in a piece of code that basically forces a random piece of loot on the floor before or after a gate to be a key. I don't think casters will regret missing that plate helm if it means they can nab shroomology.
OTHERWISE: Great game, feels like a blend of Hack Slash Crawl and Enchanted Cave 2 only more refined, my only complaint besides keys is that there aren't any permanent upgrades between runs, but that I suppose is part of the fun. 5/5

I got the hard badge witgh warrior...but that is because I got Trog religion early + an axe and a deflecting shield! Otherwise, it would have been near impossible with the wolves. Just to say, a lot of things are lacking in this game to be enjoyable; the luck factor is too important, items are too expensive and random (too many classes with their own unique offence) and looks like some npc are just random (in my first try, I never met mage NPC but on my second one, I just never stopped meeting them!).

*sigh* I played ten games before realising you have to equip the stuff you pick up - I just assumed because it was in the inventory slot it was working.

Really fun and well-made game but a bit too unforgiving. Could you maybe add a 'continue' button for us pleb casuals who die too easily so we can continue the adventure? You could just like, disable achievements if somebody has used a continue.

small guide how I got the hard badge: use fire mage; spending skill points: train focus and fire magic equally until both 8, then only train fire magic until max (20), then spend points on fortitude; get these talents: fire attunement, energy conservation, mental fortitude (in that order). If you happen to find a warrior book you can also try to get toughness, shroomology and stone wall; if you find scroll of enchantment, use it on your staff; kill every enemy you encounter with fireball and regular attacks, be careful not to hit yourself with fireball. Don't forget to heal HP and EP.

This game is really good but at same time is kinda frustrating. I will give 5/5 because this game is promising. I still there is some ideas who you can ~~steel~~ copy from cardinal quest

I wouldn't have a problem with it if the character would go where I actually click. Sometimes they do not and go where I don't want them too in the middle of a crowd attacking.

i recommand choosing storm mage to beat the game.just awear not to kill your self in the water, and using water to kill several monsters with no cost. leveling yourself up in floor 9-12,then you could rush to the end.

When i saw badges to this, i thought this might be the second one. Nope.I've already beaten and been stuck on a floor. Idk which floor is the end now.
