New rogue mechanics are pretty crazy. Got a 7:13 min run with it, here's a pic to show that I didnt use the charge glitch. http://i.imgur.com/RtSCVju.jpg

To anyone loving this game, also to the developer (for ideas... ;) ) I recommend the best roguelike I have ever played, Sword of the stars: The Pit, with all its DLCs. Rogue Fable 2 reminds me of it and that's a very good thing.

You stated in the update that skill books don't dropt prior to level 4 anymore, but here I am, a storm wizard, getting a book of necromancy in the first level. Great game tho! keep up the good work :D

The update is good, starting skills and new items. I like it. But than an orc warrior constantly rushed and attacked me - this new rush attack seems a little strong.

energy shroom tea: gain 1 ep every 5 turns for 200 turns (40 energy regen) I like it, is that one new with the latest patch?

It's not clear whether the spell damage modifier on metal shields is for damage taken from spells, or damage dealt when casting.

You need to reduce the health of maggots and bats (except level 1 bats). There's no reason AT ALL for maggots or bats to travel fast enough to hit you while you're running away and still have more health than a rat.

Bug: when I buy an item that I already have, I loses money but my item does not upgrade. Basically I just lose money and nothing happens.

Bug here: As barbarian, using "Charge" to a merchant will make your character in "Charge" stance until you attack a monster, meaning it can literally make your character go anywhere for one turn, just like stopping time.

*Didn't know a damn thing about this game, started collecting mushrooms at the start, thought the red mushrooms were something too, lost all my health points at level 1*

What can increase Life Spike's damage? Range? Necromancy? Spell Damage? I am not sure what affects what in this game, a wiki or guide would be great, about the combat mechanics I mean, and perhaps some of the monsters, their attacks are not easy to understand sometimes.

It seems to crash at "Loading 98%" Complete and cuts off the bottom half of these letters. Is it because I am using chrome? I can't seem to play. Someone please help?

grab life spike, cannibalize, then get a book of warrior, get his survival talents(toughest, shroom, wpn shield, stonewall) he pretty much becomes the toughest tank.. dont really think any class or build can match that survivability as well as damage output.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I used the life spike and cannibalism combo as a barbarian, but I still managed to die, I was ganged up so hard by slimes in level 12...

5 stars just for being an actual roguelike and not the shit developers try to pass of as roguelikes nowadays. Aside from that this probably does deserve 5 stars as a game as well, though.

Great game. Played through a few times, although there's really no reason to build a powerful character because there's no endgame boss. You just make a suicide run up to the trophy and then you win. In fact, since you get experience for picking up gold and items, I'm pretty sure the fastest 'run' of this game would be going Rogue, pumping stealth, and never fighting a single enemy. Just run down stairs as much as possible and then grab the goblet, done. The abrupt ending also makes it all too clear that the talent system is sort of pointless; I've played through with all the classes and I can't remember the last time I saw a reason to use literally ANY of the major class talents in slots 4 & 5. Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Life Spike & Cannibalism, Charge & Power Strike are the best talents in the game by far. Low energy cost, huge damage, great versatility. Warrior is the only class where I purposely get a high level talent - 10% resist all is neat.

wow. kong, ftw again... i love how a simple game like this can lag. how bout instead of JUST running video ads on the page, you go ahead and throw some pop ups in there. insert ads into the middle of the games. and go ahead and run the commercial audio. actually you could run more ads if you didnt have these pesky games on the page. tha'd probably be the smoothest play...

Overall great game, but it would be nice if it wasn't "all or nothing"--like make it to lvl 15, die, and have to start all over with no benefit to the character you spent hours developing. Would be nice if there was some cross over, level up, or experience investment between play-throughs.

So... since there are enemies that deal ice damage, and ice damage stats for the character, does that mean there's an ice mage class coming? Because that could be pretty cool.
He was actually supposed to be the first new class released. But then Barbarian started freaking out and raging and no one wanted to say anything. After that I tried to do the ice mage but I was buried under a mountain of cheaply summoned darts and the ranger skipped out. I'm hoping with all that drama out of the way the poor ice mage can finally make his debut.

@cloa513 Press C, click on the item (by the corresponding area of equipment, like rings or hands), if there's a green border then it's equipped. You can equip 2 rings simultaneously.

I chug an hp potion and descend to the final floor only to be surrounded by three ice sentry things, two wolf cages, and some number of polar bears. RIP 40 minutes of my life. Also, turns out scrolls of fear don't work on the ice sentry things 8)

Shooting a fire mushroom next to some vines on the ground caused a softlock - I could look at things with the mouse cursor but the vine burning animation never finished. I shot it with the lightning staff, if that matters.

That moment when you come across a merchant, you spot a +3 shield, sell your +2 shield to buy that +3 shield, then that +2 shield in the merchant's inventory transforms into a +4 shield... This enrages me.
Hmmm, that shouldn't happen. I'll look into it. It might make sense to just not even bother adding the players items to the merchant. *edit* oh yeah and if you just buy the new shield the price of your old one is subtracted from the cost of the new one so no need to sell before hand.

Good game but now I keep encountering the sped-up enemies bug and it is ruining otherwise good runs, hoping for a fix soon. This is probably already known but it typically happens after a skeleton revives or an enemy who has fled later recovers.
Zeroing in on it right now, thanks for the heads up. Every bit of extra information I get helps to track these things down faster so please continue to report all issues.

elfenwarrior123 that not a bug thats a feature and its giving you one more unigue way to die. btw as long as you did not save inside the locked room, just reload page and restore the save game, you will at most have lost everything you did on that level.

Found a bug, or at least an oversight. It's possible to teleport into locked rooms (the ones you need keys to enter) with Scrolls of Blink, but if you don't have a key or another scroll you can't get out. That's one character down the drain. Please fix so that you either can't teleport into locked rooms or can open locked doors from the inside.

First finish! Started with a Fire Wizard, pumped Fire Magic and Focus for awhile, got lucky and snagged a Robe of Wizardry early on. When I could use Fire Ball comfortably often, I branched into the Warrior's skill book to get Toughness and Shroomology to bolster my survivability. Never used anything but Fire Ball and my staff.
Most likely, I'm looking into if its possible to just clear that one. Marche1 explained how he got his 13 minute run, so I'm like 99% sure you and him have legit runs. If you have a moment, could you PM me, what in your opinion is the fastest possible legitimate time? I've asked Marche1 the same question and since you guys are both on the cutting edge of times, I figured you'd both have a good opinion as to what a red flag for cheating is.
