Got inferno sword with Rogue, but it wasn't counting for sneak attacks. I assume this has to do with physical damage vs. fire damage, but it's still weird.

Magikarp9, you need a sword, ax, or spear to melee, and the damage you do is based on your Melee skill. (You must select the weapon in your inventory by clicking on it.) However, any mage staff can shoot enemies right next to you as well and uses the skill that corresponds with the staff's element (fire, lightening, or necro/poison).

The game is great, reminds me of Pixel Dungeon (a phone game), if you enjoyed this game you should try that game too.

I come back to this game constantly, its replayability is extraordinary and I've been on a hook for like a week or so.

Fantastic principle as is with most roguelikes, but as with most roguelikes it falls into the trap of "luck will make sure you're gonna die, and if not, one misclick will make sure you're gonna die anyway. 3.5/5, minor tweaks could make all the difference, especially for all classes besides Necro.

@plasmacow just press E, you'll explore the lower level, its not a "disconnected piece of a level with no stairs in sight" its the next level down, where you'd be going ANYWAY

Good job, Justin the Developer! I really like how each game is different, and it is quite addictive. The game play is great, and so is the atmosphere. This game makes you think a couple of steps ahead, to avoid dying early. The combat is superb and it is challenging enough to want to play through more than once. Awesome!

@Sanmei There are two campfires in every floor of the ice caves. It might have placed them both in a corner behind an elite Ice statue, but there will always be two of them.

Possible BUG : I'm on a run where I picked up all the skill books except for rogue. When I bought the rogue book off of a merchant it disappeared and I have no access to the rogue spells. Stealth got +2 like normal and money was deducted as normal.

I think the loss of armor for mage clothes is too far, they are too fragile. but i see what you mean about enforcing choices. maybe each +1 i adds 1 armor poin

Made it to the ice caves. Three floors, not one single campfire. Exhausted my healing items and was eventually overcome by a pack of about 15 wolves, since I was under permanent Slow condition and had no possible means of beating them all (used three hellfire scrolls and they just kept coming and I was too staggered to be able to run away or kill them all). Campfires need to spawn a lot more often if you're going to have inescapable, high amounts of damage that inflict debilitating status ailments too.

Usually, it takes me nearly 2 hrs to reach floor 16, but here’s a guy who made it in 5 min.
If not using the rogue, to get hold of the Rogue Book (either finding it or buying it from the merchant) is the best way to reach the end (keen hearing+dungeon sense). But I believe most players have more fun exploring every inch of every floor …

Thanks for the ranger, but I don't know of a ranger who doesn't use a bow and arrow as a basic weapon. A spear is more for soldiers and Tarzan.

Cleared a room, made one step and an enemy spawned on the tile I just left and killed me. Since when can enemies spawn this close?

Hate the new format of the game. No criticals on sleeping or surprised enemies and it takes way too much to power up your character. 5% at a time per point is way too little especially when you run into the super bad guys with 120 hps.

Justin Wang123 I just wonder how it's possible to finishing game in 3 mins. I can believe in 13 mins because on this enough have luck with downstairs but 9, 5 or 3 mins sounds for me like someone was manipulating game with third way program.

Here's a list of the altars and what they do:
Altar of Wizard - Abilities occasionally use no energy
Altar of Archer - Occasionally get arrows or javelins (power increases with your level)
Altar of Wealth - Immediately granted a hoard of gold coins
Altar of Health - Occasionally get healed when health drops below 50%
Altar of Exploration - Health below 50% is restored to full when descending to an
unexplored level
Altar of Trog - Go berserk and deal critical hits whenever HP below 33%

*SPOILER ALERT---SPOILER ALERT---SPOILER ALERT---SPOILER ALERT---* Love the game but when it came to the end I felt let down, i've onlt have been able to complete the game with the Warrior so far. Replay value is a 7/10 for me. Stupidest way I died was setting myself on fire using a fire wand on a grassy area while 1% away from my next level while aiming at a fleeing Goblin Warrior.

bug report: I was a warrior on level 16 there was a shop guy but clicking view items did not open the shop but just removed the screen.

It seems incistent with calculation of range and movement. It looks like range is calculated at diagonals = 1.5 movement, but moving costs only 1 for diagonals. that leads to situations where my fire mage could kill a dude coming at me from the horizontal, but not the diagonal.

Last two runs with my berserker I've died at the 16th level... I am still trying to finish with the berserker, it's the only class I've played. It's not easy on the nerves... I've come so close, so many times. :P

So, how does storm chopper work? Does it get boosted by both melee and electric damage? Can it electrocute monsters in a pool of water? No idea if there is more to it than just straight damage.

Great game! Playing it here and on Newgrounds. I would say one of the more frustrating things is enemy critical hits (spiders et all) It's good to add elements of surprise attacks but a flat random crit is kinda rough. (unless there's some condition they need to crit? like being stuck in the web?) Hopefully I'll beat it eventually :D

Is there no way to attack without moving? Like, with the ranger, I just want to use my spear to set off the fire mushrooms, but he just walks right on to them instead of attacking them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The ranger is overpowered, just get the Summon Darts skill and increase Energy points every level up, eat stamina shrooms, maybe learn Sleep Dart for a melee attack every once in awhile?
