The small 4 floor dungeons are side dungeons. The main one will always end on the 16th floor. There should be a 2nd set of stairs on the same floor the side dungeon started on.

I reached sewers level 4 with my storm mage, killed everything, and have no more descending stairs, but haven't gotten a "win" message... Am I supposed to find a goblet like in RFII? Because I'm not seeing it.
Your in an optional side branch, you need to backtrack to where it split. I'm planning on having a portal at those branch ends that takes you back once they are cleared just to save on running time.
I'm planning on spending at least another 4-5 months of development on it in steams early access so when I'll look into kartridge when it does its full release to steam since I don't think it has anything resembling early access right now.

After finally winning, my main gripe is this: the "treasure" for completing level 4 of the sewers, core and ice caves is pure unenchanted crap. Pretty anti-climactic reward for the epic battles that led there. Is this intentional or a bug? Otherwise, this game is a solid 5/5 stars for me :)
Thanks! That's been on my todo list for awhile, having 'good' treasure in places where appropriate. Same would go in the rooms where there are 3 crystal chests to choose from, it should select 3 'good' and different items to make the choice interesting. Same goes for stuff behind locked gates. So at some future update I'll likely have some sort of generic way of generating 'good' items that takes into account what the player has, mods stuff appropriately etc.

I finally beat the game with a storm mage. The crystal golem that caused my super OP ranger to kill himself on my deepest run before this, I dominated and used him to have all the arachnid archers suicide on. Even the ice turret in the final glyph doors shot at me and ricocheted off the golem and something else and ended up wiping half their army :)

Gotta love a game where you can do everything right and get lucky with items but RNG is just going to kill you anyway.

This is so great. I love simple roguelikes. A story would be great. Nothing big, just some introductory words or a mission. Anyway, I love it.

I have to applaud you sir. This is an excellently constructed roguelike, and has to be the hardest I have played to date.

Suggestion concerning random damage. I understand the logic behind it but please make it less random 0-10 damage reduction is a HUGE dice roll and if the game decides you are going to die, well your 20 hp isn't going to save you from those 3 arrows

I only have one problem with this game, the removal of the mushrooms from the previous game (The HP and Energy mushrooms) It makes the game much harder, although otherwise. I enjoy these new games, and honestly. I want a fourth XD

I wish food was slightly more available. You seem to need it more often than you can randomly find. And shops don't always seem to have it in stock either. It feels like that could be adjusted by just a little and find a better balance, because it really sucks to have played carefully and still find yourself with no food, completely hungry, losing hitpoints as you cross your fingers that you find some meat in the next room before you die from hunger. So either slightly more ways to get food or some other options to refill hunger sometimes would be nice.

Killed myself again- this time I used a charm of fire on a fire mushroom to kill a skeleton when I was, unknowingly, in the blast radius. Level 9 ice mage too, got farther than usual.
Your on a side branch, back track up to the main dungeon line. I'm planning on adding portals at some point at the branch ends that lead back up to their starts.

This game is PERFECT. I can tell you have really played it extensively and worked out all the mechanics. These days a game like this is truly a diamond in the rough.

Hey, just found a small bug, not sure if it could mess something in game logic or if its only visual but on the character screen "storm power" description gives you NotANumber instead of a proper value. Look here: imgur . com/15Hz8nm
Other then that game is really great, would love to see it ported to mobile.

Was not expecting a sequel, this is a legitimately great game! So much care and effort went into making RF a true strategy game, and it clearly shows. Much more usage of tactics, abilities and items compared to the last one. I've played RFII so much that it's a detriment to my skill in this - I keep underestimating goblin bombers and ice bombs. Would really appreciate some sort of Hall of Fame (Shame?) for dead characters. Keep up the good work!
You've got to open your character screen first. When the character screen is open you can pick up and rearrange items (you can also rearrange abilities). Just put a weapon, usually a ranged weapon in the slot. Then you can right click to use it or Q on the keyboard to auto attack with it.

Would like the option to take notes in-game (eg. where unused hp pools are in prior levels), or alternatively to have an automatically generated listing of where unused stuff is, perhaps with a fast-travel mode to get there quickly.
Side question: what does the exp shrine do exactly? If the effect wears off when one levels up or after some set period of time, this would be good to know as to optimize its use.

i managed to go to cave lvl 15 with the same weapon i started, this should not be possible, please make at least one weapon drop for your class every 5 lvls or so

monster doesn't drop gold anymore? wasn't it 1 gold for each monster killed? normal attack from elemental staff won't give any critical in blood/bone/etc terrain?
Shift rest will regen to either full HP or full mana (which ever comes first). So if you want both just rest twice. This is simply to give the player a bit more control over their resting and not waste food if for example the player only wanted full mana which typically regens faster.

Really great game! The most recent updates have really made it fun, though sometimes finding enough food so you don't starve to death seems a little "luck of the draw". Looking forward to more updates
Thanks! More updates will be coming. As a hint, 1 food is guaranteed to spawn on every 4th floor so if your in an emergency you can always dive quickly to find it. Also the merchant always stocks one food and he's guaranteed on floor 9 so that's another place that you can count on finding food if desperate.

How does enchanting works? Sometimes I can enchant weapons, others I can't. Sometimes I can enchant over +3, other I don't seem to be able to

warrior can't become mage? (rage bar and mana bar are in one place); actually, i think, the health/mana/hunger/exp bar, might be better if they are below the map but above the item info..

While I won't claim to be enamored of the new variable damage system, it would likely be a great deal more tolerable if, rather than only knowing the max damage possible, items actually said what their range of damage was. Even "1d3" would be better than just "3".

I keep going deep into the temple and losing almost all my Manna bar. Once, the game seemed to fix itself, but my current run all but 3/3 got sucked away.

Lmao. Second playthrough, and I killed myself by using my fire sword against an enemy in the tall grass and burning myself. Didn't know that could happen.

The Sewer, Arcane Tower, and Ice Cave are optional, side-branch dungeons. Take upstairs and get back to the main dungeon then go deeper from there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hey, I'm at Arcane Tower 4/4. Cleared it out. Can't figure out what to do or where to go from here. Anyone know what I'm missing?
Your in a side branch and need to back track to the main dungeon. I'm planning on adding portals that open up once the branch end is cleared to make this faster.

To everyone finding the game hard. Roguelikes are not a game of thriving in your element. They are a game of barely scraping by with what you have. Use your items. If you would die, clearly the item is needed. If you die because you don't have it later, clearly using it didn't matter either way. Big plays are small in roguelikes.
Nothing is more painful than dying and then going through your inventory and going "yup that would have saved me, yup I could have used that too etc" :P
If its a char you were playing before then unfortunately your save was tainted by the evil darkness of 'todays update'. New 'Greater' versions of the staves were added with the previous staves made weaker and given to mages as starting weapons. So if you had a Staff of Storms in your save file, that's now referring to the weaker version.

Took two hours to beat it with the ranger. If I would go to the Ice Cave I would also finish it, or there is only one way to finish?

i played rouge fable 2 multiple times and loved the structure of part #2. try making it more similar to part 3. i also like the new things you have added to make it more fun.
KEEP UP THE EFFORT!
