This game is exceptional. It hits that fine balance between being distinctly beatable and frequently unforgiving of hubris or carelessness.

Is there a way to have active abilities check for weapons put into the right click slot? Would help a lot instead of having to open the item menu, swap it out and then clicking it to select it as active weapon (ie: Power shot needing range equipped and Power strike needing melee equipped)

I can't believe it. I lost a game where I was pretty damn powerful because my arrow reflected off the enemy and hit me. It was a one shot kill. : (((((

I'm getting a bug. Not sure what triggered it, but I had just completed The Core and used the Transferrence Table to get a staff a higher enchantment than is normally possible. Backtracked to The Crypt level 11. Going down stairs to level 12 results in a black screen and frozen game. I can refresh the page and end up at the down stairs, but it seems like it's locking up in generating the next level, meaning I can't progress.

Perhaps it's just me, but I would really like to see the game loot slightly more catered to your chosen class. I find a lot of metal armor on the mages but never on the warrior. And plenty of melee weapons on every non-melee class... Overall it feels frustrating because of how gimped finding unusable loot leaves you. That said, this game is really satisfying to play overall despite the steep rng/difficulty curve. Getting mixed magic skills on mages is really fun; starting as the enchanter for strong cc and then getting ice/fire magics to pump out aoes while the enemies are in-fighting is so cathartic I can't get enough.

OK, I feel like i'm being bullied with the new "Records" thing, lol. Wins-0, Deaths-71, and a description of every single death. This is bullying! lol

Okay, having done several side dungeons now, I have to say I really like the different designs the levels have--especially the last ones. (And it's even better when I have dungeon sight and can see that huge cluster of yellow as motivation....) Actually, the side dungeons are a great idea overall; I always want to do them.

Starved to death twice. Seriously, add more food. It's the worst when you get so far and can't do anything because you have no food.

sorry for so many replies, but the minimum damage still being there is unfair. like if you get a staff up to 20 or so max damage, as rare as it is, you could still do three or four damage quite a few times in a row against a large-hp enemy.

Heeey...it would be helpful if the Table of Transference were more clear about which direction the transference was going. I guessed wrong, and lost all the enchantment I had placed on my primary staff! (Unless a gamble was the point, in which case, I'll probably never use one again.) Still enjoying the new game!

Other generally useful spells/charms: the one that lets you sense monsters (forgot its name, but it's very useful); sprint (like a poor man's blink, great for escaping tricky situations or wreaking havoc in a group with confuse/clouds/disease); Charm (not as good as confuse and has slightly different mechanics, but good nonetheless. Other than that, any spells/charms that let you crowd control are very useful: freeze and shock can incapacitate enemies for a long time.
Lastly, NEVER USE INFECTIOUS DISEASE AGAINS FAST AND/OR BLINKING MONSTERS.

Charms are OP. Consider getting a Charm before anything else when using wishing wells/acq scrolls, unless you already have a very useful one. Best charms, IMO: confuse, healing, blink, in that order. Any of these will greatly enhance your character survivability.
Confuse in general is OP; it absolutely wrecks packs of monsters, and late game packs are abundant. Invest in confuse ASAP, even if you're a melee char.
Strafe attack in general is also great, but the combination of strafe + ranged weapon is ridiculous. You can basically kill anything and never get hit.

Love the game! But arcane tower is so hard (especially compared to sewers) thats is basically not recommended to enter it at all, if you don't have like 4 scrolls of hellfire in your bag.

Hi Justin, I managed to win the game with every character, except the enchanter. I have the feeling that he is quite useless for offense and for defense, i.e. especially he can only deal damage, when specialising in something another character would do.

I just wanted you to know that this is the first game in many years to be as intriguing. I don't have any consoles or PC games. This is based off of both skill and luck, Just luck... I've gotten amazing luck in the RNG... I'm very skilled at this gam-... wait, what... THAT ITEM EXISTS?!?!? Perfect mix of luck and skill. I enjoy games where you can figure out the puzzle or grind yourself to the proper level... been awhile since I found a worthwhile RNJesus

And also; I always get criticals on enemies when they're on blood (more specifically from rats), but stepping on it doesn't give me the "Unstable" status. Is this a glitch or intentional?

Just encountered a situation that felt wrong while using a ranged weapon: I can't shoot at the target I want (let's call it target A), because the shot path features target B. But I'm not allowed to shoot at target B because the path to it has an obstacle in the way (a column). However, once B moves and/or is killed, then I CAN shoot at target A. So the only thing blocking my shot is B, which I'm not allowed to shoot at either; how can it be blocking my shot if I'm not allowed to shoot at it?

Hah. Switch gate with the switch on the other side. :) I guess I don't go deeper into this side dungeon, after all. :)

I wish you all the best with the Steam early access. This is an awesome game, I would gladly pay money to play an expanded version! Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

GIJohnny do you take into account the tons of EXP you get from bonus dungeons? Additionally you find skill trainers, merchants and enchanting tables a lot more frecuently then you usually would, added that the gold you get from there is also pretty reasonable, allowing you to buy what you need from the merchants, or dump it all into skill trainers making yourself OP AF!

the warrior cooldown will only change when some enemy died? i thought when you attack the enemy.. isn't that kinda hard to fight the Orc or Golem? i mean when they are the only ones left it's not easy to kill them without Power Strike..

I like the increased challenge in this one compared to II, but it feels like its a little too influenced by RNG compared to the last one though. That might just me being not used to this one yet, however.

I feel like the treasure tables need work. Just completed a run (first enchanter win) in which I found >21 potions, 6 transference tables, and only one piece of gear with a +3 or higher bonus (including having finished the alternate dungeon, finally got the core instead of the arcane tower, which is easily the most difficult side dungeon I think).

It feels like skill points get rather weak later on. While talent points can usually find a good use; at the higher levels your bonuses in your main areas are so high skill points often do very little; and putting outside your main areaqs also doesn't help much. Great game overall of course. I'd also like a biht more variety in the mundane classes, or maybe some hybrid caster options.
