Does Storm Chopper the axe not get critical hits? It was not hitting crits on unstable surfaces nor when I used berserk.

I used a Scroll of Domination on a Queen Spider, but then it kept spawning eggs that hatched into hostile spiders. Confused since the eggs are friendly until they hatch, so can't even kill the eggs before the spiders hatch to kill me :(

@stairwalker: The altar of transference trades the enchantment between two items you put on it. That's why it has a bidirectional arrow.

@Bonhomminal, the Keen Hearing talent will let you detect hidden enemies (lava eels, tentacle spitters, crocodiles, ambush rooms)! If they're in lava you do have to look somewhat carefully to distinguish the "enemy" red from the "lava" red, but it is visible. And you can attack hidden enemies with some spells--Lightning Bolt's my favorite for water enemies, and Freezing Cloud for the lava eels (as long as you're careful to place it so that they won't move out of it when trying to chase you). Also, if you boost stealth enough, you can get close enough to attack before they notice you. Strafing is also good--when I do it, ranged enemies often target the square I was just in, rather than the square I'm in now.

Could you change the altar of transfer enchantment to make it clearer which way the enchantment goes? It's frustrating to accidentally disenchant your main weapon.

This game wouldn't be so difficult if it wasn't so buggy. My fire mage was stacked but the wand of spectral swords did not summon any swords MULTIPLE times. I had two of them, one at +1 and the other at +2. I'm taking a break from this game until these bugs have been ironed out.

90% of the time I die, it's because I mean to click on the monster I want to attack and instead click on a square adjacent to the monster I want to attack.

Finally did it with a necro invoking mass skeletons and helping with a tome of (???) charm.
A lightning charm for its aoe + charming a golem or tanky monster really helps whittling down a large group (ambush or runed room)

Finally found the goblet with a ranger! All it took was levitation, keen hearing, a charm of confusion, a scroll of charming (had the piper fight on my side), a broad axe, few hp potions, and a dexterity ring :). Great game, lots of possible strategies to win!

I like the idea how you put the switch inside the gate in arcane tower. At first I was like, "what's the point having 2 switch?", then I accidentally falls there through a pit trap XD

@tatsurou: rage increases the rate at which your skills cool down, this means that at max rage you could use your skills every couple of turns. A barbarian with an axe and strife attack seems to be the best option for crowd control

Best run so far, lost a lv15 storm wizard due to spam of lava eels. I fail to see how I could've foreseen them, however I guess I could've gone for the main dungeon instead of clearing the sewers then the lava pit or whatever it is.

The Barbarian seems seriously underpowered. He has a high health...and that seems to be it. He can't use magic at all, and I still have no idea what 'Rage' does for me exactly. If you luck out and get good weapons or armor - or Vampirism items - early, you can tank your way a good way, but otherwise he seems to be seriously weak compared to others. Am I missing something?

Good game except now I'm stuck in the arcane tower 4/4 killed all enemies but I can't cross the lava (I'm are in a circle in the middle surrounded with lava) but how do I get out of this circle? For the rest great challenging game except for this challenge...

Did something happen to monster resistances? It's almost impossible to kill storm mages with storm mages or fire mages with fire mages. The reduction in damage they get is ridiculous.

If it's intentional that skeletons permanently consume mana, it might be an idea to mention such in the spell description.

Enchanter is good at charming, so make use of it when there are more than one enemy. I can say that enchanter is the best to deal with the last level especially when you stand with the priest and let the enemy do all the work

@rickysub: enchanter is actually silly-strong if used carefully; confusion (once upgraded) can eliminate a bunch of hostiles at once, and charm can be used to turn the strongest monsters to your side. Once you get enough mana, swiftness is pretty awesome, as well, especially if you can pick up strafe attack.

One piece of game behavior that I think really needs to be fixed: When clicking on un-explored squares, characters should NOT auto-shoot traps. Just died in daily challenge because I tried to explore a square that turned out to be a fire pot -_-

Just tried the Enchanter for the first time and he may suck worse than the Barbarian out of the gate. His native spells are horrible and his wand seems even worse than that of the other mages. I thought confusion and fear would work like the wand/scroll, but they are sad nerfed versions. You don't stand a chance against any of the higher level ranged enemies. At this point, I don't see how to win without lucking into quality loot such as a bow, another class of magic or the swift talent...which I guess at least offers some hope over the Barbarian.

Bonhomminal, they reflect all projectiles, so kill them with melee (I always hold on to one high damage melee for this reason), area effects, or something like burst of flame. Another option is to dominate a melee enemy near the crystal golem. As a necro, you can spread infectious disease to the golem or use your minions. Also, keep in mind that you don't need to kill everything. You can avoid enemies that are too difficult. When I play fire mage, I always avoid sunflowers unless I have picked up ice/lightning damage spells.

What's the trick with crystal golems ? Do their reflection fall off sometimes ?

@mafiaelephant funny how similar our runs were, I also go with an enchanter and somehow the seed provides a dungeon with access to two extra dungeons and so 8 more floors for leveling. I only have reached 111hp and a +2healing charm though.

I just had the most insanely overpowered run yet. Enchanter, 129hp 17mp 12 protection 8 evasion 1 fire/cold res. Lvl2 fireball, lvl3 confusion, strafe atk, sprint. +5 great fire staff = 34 dmg after modifiers, fireball = 61. Sitting on 5 meats, 4 charges of full heal charm, a fully charged wand of confusion and a fear scroll. Also had some scrolls of hellfire/teleport/blink but i used them to teleport in and kill everything because it was fun. Holy crap did this build break the game.

Just had a frustrating death. I've had some drinks and in the ice caves I had 5 meats, so I was thinking I was fine to shift click to wait and get some health back. First one "didn't work" then I drunkenly clicked twice more to get it to go and the cold killed me. It's dumb and I deserve to die, but a pop up warning would be nice for waiting when negative effects (other then poison) happen.

I would say that the difficulty of this version is more consistent and gradual than the previous one
I only won with Warrior in II. I am beating III with most classes with Ice Mage being the easiest one
