Enchanting a charm increases the number of charges it can hold at a time. A +2 charm of lightning can hold 2 charges. It takes 250 turns for each charge, so in 500 turns you can use the lightning charm twice in a row. Also, if equipped, enchanting a charm full charges it.

However, with some spit and polish and a lot of work, I can see you doing well with this. But, you have a lot of issues to address and a lot of work to do. Good luck, I hope things turn out well for you.

Casual gamers are going to be your most likely market on Steam, where you said yourself you intend to market this, if you think casual gamers are going to play and enjoy this you're sadly mistaken. There's a reason Dark Souls got the running gag about "casuls". And let's not forget all the bugs we're seeing mentioned in comments, though lucky for you these people are dedicating their time to finding them for you (Hint: You may want to publicly thank your player base on here for their help.)

So, some poor little snowflake's feelings must've been hurt by my last post, since it's deleted. I'll just recap quick my opinions about this game and the dev's intentions. It's poorly balanced, you need serious help with that and haven't actually fixed that since the first iteration of this game. You intend on selling this on Steam? Not going to go well for you, whether you want to hear that or not. This goes right back around to "not well-balanced" and adds "too little content." to the list also. If you're serious about wanting to market this, you have a lot of work you need to do.

After finishing the game with all classes I think that this is easily the best Rogue Fable ever. Very balanced and very differing playstyles amongst the different classes. Even for veterans of older games in the series it's still a big challenge but it's never unfair. Every run is doable, but you have to play extremely careful in those tough situations. If you feel like you can't beat the game, keep improving your tactics. The learning curve is pretty steep

BUG - When you enchant Fire Elemental in The Core, the Fire Elemental will keep creating enchanted Homing Fire Bombs and the Bombs follow you and you can't kill it, resulting in your death.

Hobbit challenge: Play a rogue. You can't do anything to increase your HP (no health items, no strength, no health potion increase etc.) and you can't wear any shoes or boots.

I also noticed one pretty unbalanced problem: physical attacks, when performed right can critic and damages can be super high. for magic, it does not. Mages also need to boost focus for mana, spell power for damage and fortitude to resist a spell that is cast on them ... I finished the game several time with a ranger, barely with a mage

one thing I will complain about: dungeon should have a greater chance to get equipment for your class. Especially when using scrolls. Else, this is a straight 5/5 game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Maybe is a bug as I dont expect it to be as intended bu using a barbarian class I only see a rage bar and no mana bar resource which is needed for the other skills if one gets tomes, if the mana were available I expected to see it on the character info menu but no... so playing barbarian goes no mana use at all just to let you know about it maybe the settings on the display didnt allow another bar to show perhaps the ID of the rage bar is using the same ID of the mana bar and then replacing it completely, but then again I dont even know what rage does at all. So im ok with barbarian no rage :D to allow full multiclassing.

Tips for new players/game tactics:
1. use the tiles at your advantage> large mobs get them 1 by 1 if possible, there are angles where you can be attacked but sometimes is only one road available so use that to your advantage.
2. range shooters need to have a straight line to see and attack u nerf that by moving around enemies or simply wait at a wall edge till they come and hit them, its easier than chasing them.
3. stairs are your friends if you cleared a room u can go back up and rest, so you arent forced to heal by fountains for mana or health.
4.Time your cooldowns sometimes buying time with skills is a way to walk around unharmed for most the battle.

The game is great it has even more classes than the previous one that I played and more customization since u allow multiclassing with tomes.
Still sometimes I find it hard to come with gold Most things in shop that are good are way too expensive that u have to sell really good gear and most runs only get to buy one high level gear. if some mobs have an increased chance of dropping gold coins that would be neat. Even if a buff temporarily allowed that to dont abuse it like the exp fountain per say.

barbarians suck, don't pick them, armor is useless since the least you could get damged is one, not 0, mages/rangers will wear you down and kill you in minutes (which is a problem if you spawn in the middle of the map, eg arc tower), fighting against a dark elf blade dance? you're dead, it will counter every freaking attack you throw at him. The only "bug" that helped was strafe attack when close fighters (except that dark elf) and the likes attack as they approach me i move back in diagonal strafe attack triggers without having the enemy do any damage. But this "bug" is mitigated by the fact you're heavily relying on food cause you're not gonna be able to team fight, cause protection is useless so that's when you stay by the stair, move up and down to fight only one enemy (depleting your hunger)
Add to all this crap abilities cooldown are based on kills not step. Yes I looked at the wiki, I did everything advised, barbarians suck that's it

Was really nice. I could only play the first floor though.. Wouldnt let me use the stairs. Pressing S or > does nothing. Used Ice Mage on safari on Mac.

Melee classes are harder then ranged, and could probably use a bit of a buff, but I disagree with them being luck based. The 13 win streak in high scores is with a rogue. Good decision making and understanding of the class/game is what made that happen, not luck.

Playing a rogue, I happened upon a scroll of blink and a gated area with no keys. I used the scroll of Blink to enter into the cage/cell and at that point I was unable to continue as I had no way of getting out. This isn't a complaint, merely inquiring if it's an oversight. Perhaps it'd be wise to either have a switch on the inside of the cell to open the door or perhaps make Blink not work for the aforementioned purpose. Then again, could keep it as is and merely have it as a lesson for players to not attempt such things unless you have TWO scrolls of blink.

Guys gonn be honest but a weekly fastest win time of the week of christmas in 2018 was -1393 which seems a little impossible to me but hey I'm no speed runner

Guys I recently played the second game and I must say that the Fire towers were too esy and getting hit by that 10 damage or more a turn is really just too much so like every other turn would be the best on the attacks for that at least. Also another thing I would like to point out that also happened to me in the ;ast game is that I would have to just try to hurry up and finish the last 4 or 5 floors with attacking enemies just to win even with my lvl 14 or 15 character and in this one I fell like I have to start that on floor 8 instead of floor 12 or 13. Other than that I think it has been a great improvement to the last game. Gonna continue testing different strategies and helping the community.

Finally the first win as lvl 11 rogue, 1 hour. Best item was an enhanced ring of reflection, all ranged attackers only killed themselves.Still got caught in hopeless situations and only scroll of hell fire and blink charm provided an escape

Shouldn't I be able to use Flame Burst on an Orb of Fire? One would think a ball of fire would count as a source of fire.

Btw I wonder if any one post this yet, correct me if I am wrong. There seems to be 13 types of biomes in this game. The first and the last one are always the same. Floor 5-8 can be orc fortress, sunless desert, undergrove, iron fortress or swamp. 9-12 are dark temple or crypt. The optional dungeons are sewers, arcane tower and ice cave and the core.

It becomes more extreme when you look at class like rogue. My best time is 8:14 with a heavily optimized strategy of just reaching lv6 and keep moving. In this case, sleeping dart, sprint and dungeon sense are all you need. But if you look at this class objectively without the bias of speed running, it has no good crowd control and no heavy-hitting skills (his criticals and to a lesser extent, traps, can't even take down an elemental reliably:D). It's again, more up to luck instead of awarding good choices when you use him "the orthodox way". I actually think people that do speed run is always a minority, and the class should not be balanced to cater to these people solely.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The problem is the devs seems to never consider the worst (or close to worse) case scenario. Use the ranger as example, my best run is 21mins and usually it's not those lucky runs that have problems. About 20% of the time, no useful wands/scrolls show up (I don't consider food and even longbows useful enough, as it contributes little against swarms and clearing speed anyway). To progress safely without these is to simply walk-off the cd, either use a boring play-style or accept possible unwinnable situation appear. The game seems to reward you to reroll rather than to make correct decision. Randomness is actually good to keep things exciting but when it goes too far it generates large no of dull scenario.

@Littleheran Speed-run in gaming usually means finishing as fast as possible, so that is what I thought you meant. You did not complain about pots/food etc. my point was that the merchant sells them and they are always useful. Food makes up for worse gear, and pots increase your stats. I did not dismiss any of your complaints, only a misunderstanding about what you consider the term speed-run to be. We disagree on the definition of balanced - I don’t think you should be able to win every time in under 45 minutes. If that were possible, imo the game would be too easy. A way for it to work for both of us is a difficulty selection, where easy mode increases the loot that suits your class, or other changes to make it easier like more merchants with cheaper items. It would help players learn the game, without ruining the challenge for players who like the randomness.

ok, so I read through some of the comments and I want to give some counter feedback.
I really love that enviro effects hurt the person that triggers them... its great for punishing bad planning and makes you more cautious.
I love the variable damage, I barely notice it to be honest but I am pretty sure it's saved be before so please keep it.
Infectious disease friendly fire is logical, I love it.
I like rng loot, a LOT.
for those with issues descending and being surrounded... go back up, plan, then re-descend and kill.

skele moves I clicked something else cause I didnt lose health so I was just ganna move away... so in 2 turns I go from 9 to + regen to down to like 1 or 2 and then I lose 9 health again and die.
this pissed me off, wtf.... I was safe... it didnt hurt me so I wasnt losing health... I... I.... I was so far T_T
of all the deaths, this one actually upset me, like a 'imma take a break now to get over this' upset.

Ok, so this actually pissed me off... I got to level 19, was doing great... was kicking ass and I tried casting a spell on a mirror golem... came to find out they reflect ranged target things... cool... so I get past a few and I find one and think 'maybe its just ranged projectiles since it reflected my staff but I think my spell hit one. Ok, cool, so I cast life leech or whatever it is and it reflects back. well. I have full life and I have a summoned minion fighting the golem and no other threats.... cool... no biggy, just ganna chill since I dont have to fight... I drop to like 9 health and then my minion dies. Ok, need to summon a new one. So I do, plenty of mana.... I didnt lose health last round so the spell ran its course.
I summon the minion and I lose health again.... random... but just as the

Ultimately the only real problem with the game is that enemies don't drop loot. Yeah, it'a frustrating that chests can give you garbage sometimes, but that wouldn't matter as much if there was other stuff being dropped. It would even out the challenge to be more strategy than luck. It's standard in other Roguelikes, too. Please add this.

The developer has good intention, but the design philosophy is simply flawed, especially when you see he dismissed 10 or more consecutive wins as cheating and normalized players' death and retry (which ironically is something most veteran can do if they don't care win time and pick the same class over and over). A better mindset should be like spelunky's developer Derek Yu, where each run is made meaningful by providing enough choice. Trying to cover bad design through replay is not a good idea, death is supposed to be matter. I just do another run where a ranger cannot buy/loot any scrolls from merchants and the first 8 floors reinforced my feeling that the game is poorly balanced, I probably can still get below 45mins, but I know it's just a Russian roulette.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Stephen595 People tend to dismiss complains cause they tend to believe it's just because they sucks, but for this game I believe they only look at their own fastest time without looking at how many deaths they got, or they just don't look at their clear time after beating the game once below 45 mins, and this comes from a person that can actually beat this game under 45mins for multiple classes. If you don't believe me, just try to win under 45mins for three times in a row for each classes, try not to get occupied by the "It's just bad luck I can do it next time" perspective. If a core gamer like you and me cannot do it, then most people can't.
