Anticipation: agreed, a way to play a specific player is definatly needed. If not a private host than perhaps a challenge option?
Kilgore: While luck plays a part it is only about 10% or less. While it makes it harder, a good player can overcome a random crit or miss without too much trouble. If you are having trouble rethink your deck and/or your mind-reading skills. After all, the luck goes both ways.

I really really want to like this game. I think the art is great and the characters are interesting. It has all the elements needed for a good game - except interesting gameplay.
As it is, there are two factors involved in playing this game: being able to guess what you're oppnent will do (1) and sheer outright dumb luck (2). Arguably, the first element is part of the second element.
As a result, it doesn't feel like anything I do matters. I can try as hard as I want, but I'll still lose if my characters miss a few times while his crit. I could also try not very hard and still win by getting a few lucky procs. Since anything I do outside of switching and intercepting is fully dependent on luck, what this really becomes is a game about who can execute their switches and intercept with the highest degree of success. And since both successful switches and failed intercepts waste an entire round without any damage being done, it just feels like a huge waste of time.

I am just in the match with a person that seems to be away of the computer... Game goes on automatically, however it takes ages (I don't want to forfeit the game, as it yields nothing -- except for defeat, I think).
I would like to suggest a solution, that might be, I think, easy to implement: in OPTIONS a query that is send to your opponent: "Are you there?". This query pops up a dialogue in opponents game, that has to be answered correctly "Yes" for the game to go on. In case of not answering the game is forfeit on the behalf of the opponent, giving the player a win -- rightfully earned, as the opponent practically gave up.
I hope that it comes in handy. I really would like to see that option implemented -- I just entered Kongai test and this "dead" opponent came up. I wonder if it happens often...

lol, touch of doom should NOT be dispelled when switching out. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, just sounds like someone is mad.

problem with the starter card choose. I choose my 3 cards, then press save, and a popup keeps coming and saying "you need to choose 3 cards"

The in-game "Earn cards" menu says there's a 2% chance to win a card, while the instructions says its a 3% chance.
I've also seen both things in the comments here.
So, wich one is it?

When I was set up on a ranked match, it timed out after I accepted, then the deck selection appeared, then it said "you lose"
The loss did not record.
Then when i was browsing games, it pulled me into that same match, timed my opponent out, and gave me a victory.
This time it recorded.
This should not happen!

Alright, this is what it needs:
1) Touch of doom dispelled when characters switch out.
2) Cut the decision time in half for moves, and cut the time for range picking even further.
3) Flashier animations.
It could also use voices (crying at death, cheering at KO)

i agree that there should be a card shop, and i think that the card chance should be like 10 of 5%, not 2%. great game

No trading cards. No buying cards. Cards can be won through weekly challenges, or through winning Kongai matches (3% chance each win.) This is plenty.
—- As far as switching goes, discover the wonder of the Intercept button. The intercept button is the built in cap on switching.

maybe like an adventure mode where u start with your current deck or a selection of your cards and battle through card collectors or something and win some other cards unaccessable anywhere else on kongregate by beating them or something like that

Amazing Game. It would be nice if there was like something where you could enter the name of the person you want to face [or like select someone off of your friends]. A 'Rematch' button would be great aswell. I love the music and basically every aspect of this game. The [2%] chance to get a card after winning a match seems basically impossible and unfair. The chance of someone getting a card are veryy slim. Overall, great.

not sure if this has been suggested, but maybe there should be a card 'store' in which you can purchase cards with points that you accumulate through winning matches or achieving levels. im just thinking of ways to get players new to kongregate up to speed with more options because they wouldn't have had a chance at some of the cards offered so far
