no mistermonkey your completely wrong its a 2% chance last i heard from a moderator.i had 42 cards when kong came out of beta i've already gained 2 in under 75 matches
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Spectralwolf - i've had more than enough classes in statistics and i was making the same point as you are - chances should be lower than they are now. Even if we assume that 300 games are not enough and i have to have a 1000 or more.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
they say I can win cards through playing.
I have more than 100 matches and still didnt won a single damn card.
How much games do I need? 1 million?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
PennywiseBG: so the problem is this right?: the chances of proccing 4 in a row with a 25% chance of anything in 300 games. I didnt expect you to understand because i assumed you never had a class of statistics. and also theres some guy that said that the chances of proccing 4 times in a row with a probability of .25 is more than 1%. THIS IS ENTIRELY INCORRECT. Since the variables are independent to each other, the equation for this would be .25^4 which is LESS than 1%

I said 25% chance, i never said anything about yoshiro. Also i am talking about 4 IN A ROW.Not 4 in a game, that is completely different. Higashi ,Yoshiro,Vanessa all have a 25% proc skill. And those are the cards i use, i am guessing there are more. Also i never said that it was my opponent that got the 4 stuns/crits. I've been lucky more than once, but that doesnt make the game any more fair. I have never seen anyone get 10 open palms with yoshiro in 1 game.
To jmenz - the percentages you give are absurd - you figure out why.
And yes - it is clear that the game involves some skill. But when 2 equally skilled players play agains each other it is 9 out of 10 resolved by luck not by the better strategy. I am not talking about lvl1 stomping to get more cards, that is not even remotely interesting or fun.

i find the kongbot to be more difficult than most players. his convoluted ai makes him very hard if not impossible to predict.

Yah, i agree with mike. pokemon is definately not the first card game. i know that Magic the gathering came out before pokemon, but Magic isn't teh first card game either.

Wow, today after having 40 cards, I got all 5 cards in a single day. And if the card drop rate is 3%...then I'm amazed. Like winning the lottery.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
they say that this game is only about luck, but as far as i now, knowing when to use a 100% a 90% chance move, or when to best use chance reducing moves is all but skill, and thats what you do in this game, its a probability, its not the game that is ramdom, it is you who are playing it at ramdom
thigk of what to do better, and dont let the oponent atack just because you'll think it will miss
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you have to play a ton of card grab games before you can even be serious about this game and I am just talking about kong bot
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really dont like this game, and I can see why people like it, but i hate it, and I dont see why kongregate put all this time into it>

Pokemon was not the first card game, nor is it the best. Also, Pokemon is for 12 year olds.
This game has some unbalanced cards, which are way overpowered, or useless, but if you play with a Random deck you can get a good game against anyone once you figure out a good strategy.
However, without having a hand of 'Effect' cards to play, there is not enough variance in this game to keep it interesting.

Wow, you really don't get it, Gavrikov.
There are problems with the game though, mainly that it is ridiculously slow.
But there is a lot of skill involved, if you're losing every game you don't understand it.

Borderline impossible to find any decent matches against people with tha same kind of crap cards i have. Seems everyone else keep getting cards and what not while im stuck with what i win in the challenges. Also way to slow, no skill involved, less fun than pokemon (lets face it, it is a crappy clone of pokemon dont deny it), to much luck involved for it to not get frustrating. Short version: One of the worst cardsgames around. Good job mates.

Why does everybody who sucks at this game complain about it? Sure, there is luck involved but you don't need any if you are any good.
PS: the game has nothing to do with pokemon. Seriously, nothing.

i got a 5 card match against a lvl 8for the first like 25 turns he was telling me that i sucked at this game right after i killed his ubuntu and his popo in a row che left the battle

wait so when i chose 3 starter cards like players, then how do i get the items? by clicking the item circle on the card?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@sw33tea
you get starter item cards by clicking on the picture of the item when you choose your starter cards. They count the same as a starter charachter. You can't choose items if you don't have at least 3 charachters.

@jmenz and pennywiseBG
Jmens, you are wrong because you are assuming that a 25% chance stun charachter was used in all 300 games and used his 25% chance stun attack 4 times consecutively out of 4 tries.
Pennywise, you are wrong because you are assuming that those 4 stunning attacks were the only ones that occurred. In actuality, Yoshiro, who I assume you are talking about, attacks with open palm generally at least ten times a game. This means that 2-3 of them will stun, on average. 4 stuns would happen only slightly less frequently. the chance of 4 consecutive stuns happening in a single game is low, yes, but it is greater than 1%, and with the huge number of Yoshiro users I find it no suprise that you've been quadruple stunned in two games. Honestly, you're a bit under the average, 3 games of quadruple stuns would be closer.
And finally, if you are worried about stuns, use Helene or Girdle. Girdle isn't even a team-specific item, and it essentially negates stuns.

PennywiseBG: by using discrete binomial probability functions, you would know that the chances of a 25%chance proccing 4 times in 300 games is 8.304% which is acceptably quite large. so before commenting that the percentage are WAYYY OFFF, read a f*ckin book for once.
