I think the animation needs to be taken up several notches if this will be the premier game of this website. It doesn't even compare to many other games already present.

Zorae: that happened to me to, but my opponent said it was the same attack speed so its like they hit each other at the same time
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be good if there was a "accept draw" button as some games kind of just stalemate due to running away.
I also want to know how to tell what my record is.

@RandomTaskMan:
The game is psychology, not the strength of cards. You have to get a feel for your opponents strategy, and counter it. If he/she is making you intercept when they aren't switching out, they are simply winning the game. Kongregate made the game this way so people can't get too much of an advantage through superior cards.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I too have hit Intercept instead of Switch. Although, for me it saved my life instead of dooming me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Don't know if it counts as a bug or not, but: you can select a short range attack, your oppenent uses ninja port, and your attack still hits them some times...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@ Colonel_Popcorn, I totally agree. Currently random decks are a lot better than a deck made by a new player like myself.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I hope that when the game officially comes out, people that leave in the middle get either a loss or a warning cause it gets frustrating when I'm winning and the other guy ducks out
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'd just like to agree with a couple of comments I've seen already. Attacks with hit rates like 90% and 97% just add a luck element to a game that's very strategic otherwise, save the accuracy for "inaccurate" attacks. Also, a "play another match" feature would be very nice. And, of course, I'm hoping there's a method for newer players like me to build my deck.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is there any way to alter the Intercept symbol? Several of my opponents have agreed that sometimes they hit this instead of switch - I am not sure if it is he arrow pointing back that brings confusion, or what.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what might be nice is, when you make a game, being able to browse the other games at the same time instead of just the "searching for opponent screen". of course have that message display somewhere on the screen so you know that you are still waiting for an opponent, and when you find one, join the game as normal, but untill then, allow you to browse the games as normal. its just domething to do if there are few people on and you have a long wait.

Thank you Kongregate!!!! This is pretty cool. The first thing I personally have ever seen like this. Sweet game. You guys Rock!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you guys look at the window when you first connect to the game there is a button for Ranked Matches and for Earning Cards. Clearly they'll have these features in release they just don't have them in Testing.

i have to agree with DeathKnight000, there needs to be a way of being able to obtain previous cards. i only have 12 and its very hard to fight someone with 40 and win. i dont mind if the challenges are alot harder, in fact, i would rather that. i dont know, maybe for every 10 or so wins (or just 10 plays, win or loose) you get one of the previous cards you have missed??

After being dealt damage, the life total does not always update immediately, or properly - this can be confusing, especially when it shows a different number for a while. It is usually corrected before very long into the next round, but it has lasted long enough for me to choose a tactic I wouldn't otherwise.

For those who dont have many cards, you're not alone. Simply advertise to play random 3 or 5 card matches. I'm always up for that as are many others. If you say cards dont make a difference, then you shouldnt mind playing random cards anyway, so go for it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Omnicient Chaos, you're full of it. Yes, its still possible to use 10 cards or random cards and have a chance at beating those w/ 40+ cards available to them, but the fact remains, some cards are better than others and those w/ more options can form better and more strategies and therefore increase their odds of winning more often.

carl, it is very much possible to beat someone with a 40-50-60 card deck with a 10 card deck. the last 4 or so character cards have been pretty good and you get a chance to choose good starter cards also.

Having to play with a person that doesn't move until the timer is up is annoying, making the timer smaller (having less time to do your move...I mean really, who needs a minute to make a move?) would be a great help.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think this game a little bit boring in this time. And as a newbee i haven't got a chance against the others who got 40-50-60 cards deck.
If a new comes here and trie to play the big guys gonna kill 'em and that guy never playes again.
Maybe a rank system?

I would suggest at teh multiplayer screen when you select either 3 or 5 card, have a check box if you want it to automatically find a game, or if you would like to create your own. This way people who are wanting a specific person can get them and someone trying to make a game can both have their way.

My personal opinion is some close combat char is lesser useful... start with 100, but get close cost 50 and you can do only one attack... sometimes you can't even use killer blow because it cost more than 50.
Especially when you have no distant attack and no cheap close attack, you are doomed.

to dabananaman:
if the speed of your attack is the same as the opponents attack his attack will hit even if he dies :)
if you are faster he will not be able to hit you back
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is a very well put together game and i enjoy trying to outguess my opponents next move. I would suggest making it so people can play the challenges that the cards were originally issued at any time to earn them. Being stuck with only 14 cards vs someone with 40 isnt very much fun.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'd like to see a 7 and even a 10 card matchup. 3 is fun, but one mistake or random miss on a high cost shot can be hard to come back from...5 is definitely better but some strategy is limited. A larger card match would allow for even more strategy and for greater risks to be taken knowing you could still stage a comeback later. In such a large card matchup, though, the timer should be shorter, maybe 20 seconds or so to keep the matches at a reasonable time limit

@Skell: i mean 20 minutes total spent for the entire game :), so it keeps summing up the time a player has spent.
20 is still very much, im pretty sure 15 would be plenty.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One opponent I played made me wait the full minute between each turn, so since I didnt have time to wait I was forced to forfeit.
Id like to suggest a maximum time for a player to spend, like in Magic Online, and I suggest 20 minutes.

Death Mask: When you would die... wait, that's all it says. Apparently, something happens when you die.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@RTM: I think you're missing the point of this game, and you're not alone. The main selling point is that you have to predict what the opponent will do. If you're wrong, then you're wrong. It's all about risk and psychology. If I know that my opponent goes for the jugular when his chars are about to die, I'm not going to intercept. Yeah, intercepting is a risk, but so is switching out.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Executioner: If the characters use attacks with the same speed, both of them still get to act. One of them still needs to go first for the animation, but the game registers the actions as happening simultaneously.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Occasionally, opponents will get to play their attack after they have already been defeated (or, at least, dropped below 0 health).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In the Deck Builder it would be nice to be able to flip the cards in your deck over so you can see what kind of attacks they have if you are looking for an item that adds bonuses to 1 type of attack you dont have tp put the card back before you know if their attacks are dark magic etc.

I meant in-game. I mean, its a game that utilizes the cards previously won, it seems like it would make sense to be able to see what cards you have in-game, same with stats.
