carl, it is very much possible to beat someone with a 40-50-60 card deck with a 10 card deck. the last 4 or so character cards have been pretty good and you get a chance to choose good starter cards also.

Having to play with a person that doesn't move until the timer is up is annoying, making the timer smaller (having less time to do your move...I mean really, who needs a minute to make a move?) would be a great help.

I think this game a little bit boring in this time. And as a newbee i haven't got a chance against the others who got 40-50-60 cards deck.
If a new comes here and trie to play the big guys gonna kill 'em and that guy never playes again.
Maybe a rank system?

I would suggest at teh multiplayer screen when you select either 3 or 5 card, have a check box if you want it to automatically find a game, or if you would like to create your own. This way people who are wanting a specific person can get them and someone trying to make a game can both have their way.

My personal opinion is some close combat char is lesser useful... start with 100, but get close cost 50 and you can do only one attack... sometimes you can't even use killer blow because it cost more than 50.
Especially when you have no distant attack and no cheap close attack, you are doomed.

to dabananaman:
if the speed of your attack is the same as the opponents attack his attack will hit even if he dies :)
if you are faster he will not be able to hit you back

This is a very well put together game and i enjoy trying to outguess my opponents next move. I would suggest making it so people can play the challenges that the cards were originally issued at any time to earn them. Being stuck with only 14 cards vs someone with 40 isnt very much fun.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i reckon when when the earn cards thing is available theyll have all cards released on certain games for us to get like badges, either that or itll just be a link to the challenge on

I'd like to see a 7 and even a 10 card matchup. 3 is fun, but one mistake or random miss on a high cost shot can be hard to come back from...5 is definitely better but some strategy is limited. A larger card match would allow for even more strategy and for greater risks to be taken knowing you could still stage a comeback later. In such a large card matchup, though, the timer should be shorter, maybe 20 seconds or so to keep the matches at a reasonable time limit

@Skell: i mean 20 minutes total spent for the entire game :), so it keeps summing up the time a player has spent.
20 is still very much, im pretty sure 15 would be plenty.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One opponent I played made me wait the full minute between each turn, so since I didnt have time to wait I was forced to forfeit.
Id like to suggest a maximum time for a player to spend, like in Magic Online, and I suggest 20 minutes.

Death Mask: When you would die... wait, that's all it says. Apparently, something happens when you die.

@RTM: I think you're missing the point of this game, and you're not alone. The main selling point is that you have to predict what the opponent will do. If you're wrong, then you're wrong. It's all about risk and psychology. If I know that my opponent goes for the jugular when his chars are about to die, I'm not going to intercept. Yeah, intercepting is a risk, but so is switching out.

@Executioner: If the characters use attacks with the same speed, both of them still get to act. One of them still needs to go first for the animation, but the game registers the actions as happening simultaneously.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Occasionally, opponents will get to play their attack after they have already been defeated (or, at least, dropped below 0 health).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In the Deck Builder it would be nice to be able to flip the cards in your deck over so you can see what kind of attacks they have if you are looking for an item that adds bonuses to 1 type of attack you dont have tp put the card back before you know if their attacks are dark magic etc.

Josh
I meant in-game. I mean, its a game that utilizes the cards previously won, it seems like it would make sense to be able to see what cards you have in-game, same with stats.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If people are allowed to disconnect from a game without it counting as a loss for them or a win for you then there should be another stat that says how many disconnects a person has.

I wish there was some way for newer players like me to somehow get those cards from older challenges. Also I wish someone would have written a starter guide or something in the tutorial. The tutorial offers basic information about battles and cards, but never told you any really good tips for building decks. I made the mistake of getting barely enough characters for my deck and stocking up on items. Then, I found some items weren't as good as I thought they were and the same with some characters. There needs to be a way to repick the 3 starter cards. And it would be great if new players could somehow get some more cards.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One thing I'd really, really like to see in the game, is some way to check on your stats and cards, easily. Right now I can't check what I have, and that is kinda annoying.

Ive used intercept well plenty of times, like taking out rukiko against ashi and moving back, i know for sure they'll retreat and i intercept. It works if u kno how to use it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
think opponent is going to switch out
*intercept*
fails
now the opponent has a clear advantage.
i have to worry that i'm going to waste energy attacking nothing, or i have to intercept again hoping that he'll try to switch out again thinking that i won't try to intercept again, and if i choose the wrong then he's switched out with a card that has a killing hit against me with full energy.
I just don't like the intercept process.
i'm not asking for a handout.
i never asked for one.
i just think there should be something different thats all.

I'd like to see the base critical chance reduced to 0% and the 95/90% to hit attacks upped to 100%. Then you could save the misses for attacks that are really supposed to be inaccurate, and the crits for attacks where they belong. 'Super-accurate' attacks could go past 100% to to resist debuffs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I suggest removing random misses. It akes away from strategy and reduces the match to blind luck. I understand missing if the defender has a increase dodge buff or whatever. But Missing 2 times in a row basicly hands the match over to your opponent.

I thought I'd pass this along.

Sirlin's set up a forum for Kongai over at his site. I gather there's still no official word on what exactly we can say and what we can't (besides the prohibition against images of the game which presumably continues.) until someone on the staff here can weigh in. However, if you want to talk about the game more in depth and definitely in more length than the format here allows then head on over. I know I will be.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@RandomTaskMan: I'm not sure how that's a "loop." If you intercept and the enemy doesn't switch, then that's your misfortune, not a flaw in the game. What you're basically asking is for the opponent to have to announce that he's switching so that you can intercept, which is ridiculous on its face.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@samo_wamo: I think Ninjaport already does that. If you're not seeing it, either the moves are the same speed or the attack you're being hit with works at either range.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i understand that this would make the ninjas a little overpowered but, shouldn't ninja port cancel out an incoming physical attack if the speed of ninja port is higher. i see it as "okay, i hit you and move out of range of a melee attack, yet i still get hit even though it is not possible" i think this is a reasonable idea seeing as the speed of ninja port is semi low(4-5). maybe make this change and lower the speed another point

@RandomTaskMan and mastermandan: its all about psychology... and reverse psychology.. and the reverse of that and so on and so on. You can't just play it like an automaton you actually have to think what your opponent will do and think of how you should react to that. If you don't want to do that then go play the AI.

@AtmaWeapon: first click on just a plain white area then press F11 it'll make your screen bigger but it also is sort of a nusence(sp?) you'll understand why when/if you try it so yah making the game screen just a tab bit smaller would be a big help to us people with not gigantic size screens...
