@Acere3000: Blood burn should be able to stack twice, I believe. It works on Corn. Maybe the system works odd? It's kind of like the deck attackers (Shadow Wrath, Radiance Burst, and Tiger Frenzy), where there attacks don't actually hit sometimes when the enemy flees.
The Origami Crane seems to disable hit reduction for me, so meh.

@CoVi: -52%? That seems a bit like an overexaggeration, just considering my luck with it, but I might reconsider next time an enemy spams Shadow Curse.

Can Marquis stack Blood Burn more than twice? It didn't happen for me, so I'm not sure.
And btw, in case ppl are wondering, attacks can miss even if you have Paper Crane if you are cursed.

You can stack up to 4 curses with amaya. The 5th will be disabled , AND since the rule of diminishing returns aplies you get something like -52% hitrate... so yeah, more than 2 curses does not worth it.
Other than that ubuntu can spam SA mostly thanx to death mask giving you another chance to cast.
Try this, get ubuntu 1st char and get far... you'll have the controll of the first turn playing extremelly agresive.

Ah, example of luck beating out strategy... enemy and me down to 1 character each, my amaya vs his samurai dude, I had enough energy to use ninja port and then rest for the kill shot and he didn't have enough energy to get close and kill me on the same turn, but the ninja port fails. 1/20 chance to lose 19/20 chance to win... and i lose

@CoVi: Uhm. . .I was being sarcastic about the 99% thing. I know full well there's a chance you could miss. And doesn't only one Shadow Curse apply? I've had like 4 shadow curses on my character one time, and he didn't miss that much.

@emanthedragon: Ubuntu is made more to increase your team's power as opposed to spamming Spiritual Assistance. In addition, it's slow and only activates after a turn.

yo kyleww. I dont think ur being realistic. Vanessa needs to crit like that because of her low resistances, otherwise she'll be useless.

bfitz, vanessa is a good card, but vulnerable to lots of the others, example, CC with tome can kill VV in one blow. Anex can be effective and yoshi can own VV at times as well as the archer who can disrupt the light attacks, move away cheaper. Ever card has a counter if you know how to use them.

The only time that i find that this game is really fun is when you and your opponent chat while playing ..... and i hate those people that don't say good luck or good game, and take this game way to seriously.

Very fun and well thought out game. One character I believe is a bit too strong is Vanessa. The double slash ability does too much damage alone not to mention the high critical rate without having to switch distances and the very low cost of the ability. It is evident in the fact the the people who have the card invariably put her in the starting position. Jealous I do not have the card but also realistic about the unbalance.

The only good thing about this game is the artwork on the cards.... in play it is nothing more then a random guessing game with very little in the way of technique or strategy.

Actually it's possible in fact if you go to the sirlin forums an check the "funny pics" thread you'll see a pic of mine missing ninjaport with amaya and onimaru criticalling me with double slash. +The guy had 2 curses on him so... less than 0.2 chances of happening and it happened to me. And i don't say the RNG is broken.

@rancher: Shouldn't a status effect cancel out phylactery's effect? And it's fine, imo. 30% isn't that high, and if the opponent is reborn 3 times in a row, you're incredibly unlucky.

Strategy and tricky moves with intercepts+switch outs is the key to winning... but seriously... if your attack misses in the wrong situation it can end the game immediately. that's the one thing i don't like, other than the fact that most ppl take forever to take their turn

@ popodayounger - i agree, the phylactery does need a nerf. i think the % is fine and its ability is fine, but it should only work ONCE per battle. being able to work multiple times with a 30% chance is WAY too powerful.
